That was a miscommunication. The remaining 2 are within the companion group. Solas has a 50/50 shot.

False, all eight romances are companions or advisors.  The non-companion, non-advisor character is a flirt option.

Phew, just spent the last couple days (and all my money) trying to plan a conference trip. Side note: Anyone going to SIGGRAPH?

This has gone past the "not fun" level and into the "Why am I even still in this thread?" level...  Seriously they should have just released all LIs at once.  I really don't like the drama...

I wonder how Bioware benefits from slowly and sporadically releasing LI info.  The announcements are obviously intended for hardcore fans and not some massive audience since the info is revealed at cons, through dev tweets, Q&A sessions, or randomly mentioned on an American cable TV show, so essentially only available to people actively seeking the info.  Is it meant to extend our excitement and keep us interested until October?  Are they saving some so they have something to announce at cons (though there are more than 2 major cons remaining)?  If the intention was to keep hardcore fans interested then it's had the opposite effect on me.  This probably belongs more in the romance thread so let me bring it back on topic...

 

I like the consistency in Solas' personality and appearance.  He doesn't want to be seen as just an elf (human-ish clothes with elfy boots), he doesn't see things in black and white (his seemingly default clothing is a mishmash of greys and other neutral colors), he's "the Mind" and is very open (...he literally has no hair, making his brainy little skull very prominent), plus all the obvious pajama party lucid dreamer stuff.

Same.  I'm getting so frustrated and I'm annoyed with myself for not being happier for everyone else getting the info they want, but the more we hear about IB, the more antsy I get about the Solas/Varric/BlackwallVivi fans getting left out in the cold 

 

Although tbh, I'm super grateful for this thread because you guys are literally the ONLY thing keeping me sane throughout this

When all but two of the LIs have been revealed, just get the rest over with. I think everyone is just getting irritated now and I would say that "excitement" wouldn't quite describe the atmosphere right now 

 

And yes, I'm really digging how character appearances really reflect the characters. Solas seems unassuming, so his look is unassuming. However, in how unassuming it is, it becomes intriguing and you start to think there must be more to it than you're seeing. Same goes for the character!

I literally can't fathom why they'd be holding out on the last two like this.  All jokes about fan tears aside, it's at the point where the waiting isn't fun; if we could just know what the score is re: the LIs, we'd be able to process it and move on.  The waiting is made even worse by the fact that someone is going to get hurt, whether it's Varricmancers because Solas is available, or Solassians because Varric is.  It just sucks at this stage

A thought that may mean nothing at all, but perhaps optimists may like the idea:

 

Iron Bull was originally intended to be race gated, but because animators/cinematics worked their butts off, he's not. It would not surprise me if the wait is partially because the remaining LI scenes are being worked on, and they want to be certain they know the availability before they go and announce it. They may find that they have time to add more options.

 

Just a thought.

Nah, it just eventually breeds resentment, especially when everyone else on the BSN gets to celebrate their preferred romance, or finally come to terms with the fact that they can't have their preferred romance.  Meanwhile Solas and Blackwall fans, for example, who have been left to subsist on scraps and dust as it is- in regards to general character info and images- are left in limbo.

 

Most of the people in the Blackwall thread, and in this one are extremely nice and patient and gracious, but frustration and even resentment is eventually inevitable and quite understandable.

Exactly. We and Blackwall and Varric fans are usually so chill. When we're all getting so obviously frustrated, things have gone too far.

 

Not to say that BioWare can't do what it wants or that they have no reason to be holding out. It just wouldn't be the choice I'd personally make at this point.
