I think here "ma" means "you." In other words, "you're lying." I believe he calls her a liar because she lies about why she left her clan. TME spoilers...

The thought of Ancient elves singing like the last unicorn paints a pretty interesting and sad picture though. That's what bothers me as well. Sounds kind of like Tolken elve situation. They don't age or become ill but they can still die from an external force. did nobles have immortality in comparison to slaves, is it based on people in service to gods, or were more powerful elves were able to keep their link to the fade than others and just coincidentally mythal's followers or what was left were high members.
That's basically what I am wondering... I'm not sure which way I am leaning because I can think of good arguments on both sides :/ I haven't stumbled on anything which really clears it up either. So many unanswered questions!
That was on Sundermount. I hesitate to consider it canon because there's stuff in there that is blatantly false, like the templar saying that templars can't marry. Not sure how Felicia Day could write that when the beginning of DA2 has a married templar.Actually...it has been speculated Solas was awoken by blood magic. There's that whole questionable redemption continuity. The web series with Felicia Day? In it, they sacrifice a dalish women in order to speak with Fen'Harel. We don't know if it worked, but something happened.
Not sure if the location matches up though, or if redemption is even canon.

That makes me wonder what Solas was doing the whole time he was in uthenera. He should have some inkling of what's going on in the world because the fade reflects the world around it. Maybe he was sleeping in a super isolated spot where there isn't much going on in the fade. That sounds awfully boring.
If my Lavellan could go on a date with Solas, it would be a Fade Date. She would go to Orlais and get some of those frilly cakes he likes so much and they would have a picnic in a forest. Then they would ride halla together into the sunset. ![]()
All this unicorn talk makes me want to watch the last unicorn again. For some odd reason I keep thinking the movie is an analogy for DA elves.

He seems to have a lot of memories of things that wouldn't have happened around the time he had fallen asleep. Like the qunari woman making bread? I suppose he could have just 'caught up' on all of those memories after awakening, but I assumed that from time to time he'd slip off and just wander the fade. It might not have been entirely lucid, given how weak he seems to be after uthenera. But just sort of lazily dreaming and wandering every so often.
Yeah, I'm guessing the mods are not actually that strict, but then they should adjust the rules accordingly. I don't want to wake up and get an e-mail about how my account is banned and me going "what just happened?"
It's been very lax recently, yes, but I'd like to point out that I received a 24 hour ban pre-release for using inappropriate language (irl I swear like you wouldn't believe), but spoiler trolls made me rage like no tomorrow. The rules are enforced. I guess it's best to just keep things in mind, I'm very careful about allowing people to rile me now and issuing forth obscenities, if I need to let off steam and swear a lot I use twitter or facebook, because that's my platform
.
But is Lavellan or the Dalish getting it wrong if his actions cause death and destruction? Whatever his reasons if that's the result then he is the dread friend they fear him to be.
He gave Cory the orb, sealed away the Creators and the Forgotten Ones and neither worked out as he planned. He broke the world twice and if he tries for a third time why should my Lavellan or anyone think that this time he'll get it right?
Very true!
Solas always means well, but god he causes terrible disasters. So yeah, it's very ironic that he is not what the Dalish believes he is in personality but at the same time the result of his good intentions are still catastrophic. So when Fen'Harel is around awful things do happen! *g*
I guess it would depend on how much Lavellan understands him and his intentions. And how much she trusts him to get it right this time. It also depends on how much he's willing to compromise on her behalf and the rest of Thedas. I would not know what to do if it became apparent that his new plan wasn't going to work out either and he didn't see it. Let's be honest, his dream seems like a foolish one. It probably needs to be some kind of middle ground. If he's willing to find a good solution that benefits everyone, I'd fight by his side to the death. And get Morrigan on board too since she seems to have a similar vision. It's quite funny how they don't realize how much alike they are. Both think they are smarter than everyone. That would be a hilarious alliance.

I always forget how much I love that song. That one is particularly perfect for Dalish Inquisitors.
When I started getting those "this-isn't-going-to-end-well" vibes with Solas' romance, I was seriously thinking he'd turn out like Tidus in FFX and disappear at the end like a dream. My first thought was that he was an Ancient Elf who was brought back with the orb somehow and that when the orb was destroyed, he'd be destroyed too. I'm glad I was wrong and he turned out to be something else entirely
I was so worried he was going to die at the end!
Yuna/Tidus and the Last Unicorn are some of my favorite love stories. They're tragic, sad, and beautiful so I guess it's natural that I'd fall for Solas ![]()

But he said he needed to travel physically or he would run out of things to explore. It seems to me that if he spent 1000 years in one spot, he would have ran out of things to explore in a year at the very most.

I feel the same way; or at least something similar. I've been thinking that for a couple of days.
Mods are very pick and choose. I can't even get answers via pm or the tech support forum about my quotING issue but god forbid I say **** in a forum about a game that says ****. Lol.
Bioware might make adult games that feature some very adult content, but the BSN itself is meant to be a family-friendly, PG environment. I got a 24 hour ban back in the day from Chris Priestly for saying that the devs lying their butts off about a PC version Mass Effect was complete and utter BS. Only I spelled out BS.

That is a good point! Unless he was not being entirely honest, I'm not sure how the timing works out then.
It seems like he was shocked to find out how far the elvhen had fallen, like it was knowledge he had gained fairly recently rather than possibly having centuries to mull over. But that could be just a misread on my part.
Just be logical! Worst case, you'll get a warning from the mods. But for the sake of the thread and the fact that people have voiced a desire to use more tagging, always be respectful. Like I said earlier, don't embed it on the site. Link off site. That's generally your best bet for managing NSFW or questionable content safely.
I'll say this: you guys are no where near as bad as the great ME2/ME3 character thread wars. Where things got so bad, we were banned from even making character threads. Nuked the whole place rather than deal with the drama.
I..I remember those days *shudder*

Might be easier if they just have separate areas for the PG talk and another area that's more relaxed.

I have a feeling that they didn't consider this when they were writing the lore and dialogue lol.

That would be nice, but then they'd probably have to hire more community people, and they can't have that.
And now *I'm* thinking about the Last Unicorn... Red Bull=Red Lyrium?
I will get in trouble at some point then, because I'm not totally sure where the boundaries lie with profanity. I know the worst but I could mess up with words that aren't downright horrible. I would appreciate it if someone would tell me if I cross the line.
Regarding Solas catching onto Mihris' lie... couple possibilities, here. One is that Solas is just super good at reading people. Granted, he doesn't read Blackwall very well, or maybe figures that as long as he's helping the Inquisition (like himself) it doesn't matter. Also, plot armor. I love Bioware, but they have been guilty of using it.
Or - Solas could have been, in his wanderings, in tune with some events. Enough to investigate them after he awoke, maybe? I would think a Dalish clan imprisoning one of his old acquaintances (if he really did once walk among the Forgotten Ones) and his subsequent bloody release would be something he'd look into. Assuming he isn't somehow involved with Felassan... I'm not convinced Solas was the one at the end but that doesn't discount him being involved with or at least aware of that person. Thing. Whatever it was, and it's plans.
Hmmm... the fact that Imshael also doesn't recognize Solas (as Cory doesn't - though I'm going with the theory that Solas and Cory never actually physically met) does make me wonder if Solas is Fen'Harel in the physical sense. Though it could be that Fen'Harel's travels into the void had him taking on some other, more spiritual, form... Gah, I just don't know ![]()

Yeah me too, I swear like a sailor marinated in rum in rl.
