I'm still a bit out of it from no sleeping and cooking.   But I'll get to it today.

I am imagining that Lavellan has been plagued by desire demons posing as Solas ever since he left. Then one day the real Solas came to her dreams and she says "I will not be tempted by you demon!"  *fireball to the face* Solas then woke up in confusion and sadness. Ok that made me a bit sad. T_T

Because it's a prompt?  It should send you to  the specific prompt and if you scroll down they fills are listed in the same comment lines.

Haha, I'm listenig to Clannad's "I Will Find You" and found that it explains my Lavellan's current feelings completely. She's a bit stalkish after being dumped like that, her pride being wounded and all. xD

See, I imagine that Solas steers clear of her dreams after he leaves for one very important reason: he had such a hard time breaking up with her, and the Fade was where they first kissed.  In my headcanon, he doesn't want to take the risk of giving in like that again, because if he did, there's no way he could bring himself to walk away from her a second time.  Which is also sad

haha true, but they do have that one rock fist spell...which would make this scene slightly more comical XD

That is a good point! Unless he was not being entirely honest, I'm not sure how the timing works out then.

 

It seems like he was shocked to find out how far the elvhen had fallen, like it was knowledge he had gained fairly recently rather than possibly having centuries to mull over. But that could be just a misread on my part. 

 

There is a plausible explanation for this, but... you're not going to like it.  I don't particularly like it, but it fits.

 

Solas-as-Dirthamen was "OGS piloting" one of the dragons involved in the attack on Arlathan in the moments before Andruil pulled the trigger and Solas-as-Falon'Din had to yank the whole thing into a space-time bubble in the center of the earth.  This trapped his physical aspect (Dirthamen) but left his spirit active.  There wasn't time to do anything else, and time became the new enemy.  Blight was leaking- slowly, but inevitably, out of the Void, Andruil's finger was on the trigger, and space-time was only slowed... not stopped.  He had to arrange a way to get his physical aspect (Dirthamen) released from the dragon to have any chance of salvaging the larger picture.  

 

So Falon'Din began to whisper in the dreams of men.  And Corypheus came.  

 

Dirthamen is Dumat, in terms of Tevinter Old God-Pantheon connections.  God of Secrets, God of Silence.  It's not coincidental that the Andrastean rebellion rises and forms when it does, with a newly-physical Solas-as-Shartan working to convince Andraste to take Mythal into herself, and then working to twist Shartan's dreams to darkness and betrayal when the rebellion overreaches and Chaos becomes a larger threat than Order.   (Solas is the guardian of balance- full theory here)  

 

That explains the gap, though at the cost of being forced to accept Solas as truly Gray.  Not light.  Not dark.  Necessarily and pragmatically gray.  The healer with the bloodiest hands.

how cool is that? I for one would have lost my shizz and noped on out of there if I saw a half man-half halla (or hart?) waking around the Emerald Graves. And yes it's totally because I can no longer see any humanoid with antlers and not think of Hannibal: 

 

maybe that's why they dropped the idea, because it was too similar, but man I'd still love to see it. Wasn't there some theorycrafting going around earlier about how the halla are more than just pretty deer? like they have elvhen souls or something?

Wooah. That's really cool. I went back to that section of the art book. It doesn't mention specifically that it has been dropped? There's also an elf with similar tentacle like hair coming out of a flower. She has whiteish hair. Although a lot of the stuff in art books doesn't show up, sometimes you do find future content hiding within the pages...

The halla are cool, and half-elf half-halla men wandering the Dales would also have been cool.

Except the Golden Halla. The Golden Halla is Corypheus's right hand. :/ He led me on a merry chase through four Venatori ambushes and a few demon ones, before Sera got irritated and attacked him. That made him flee from the Dalish camp.

It's interesting that the elves tended to inhabit areas not thought of as 'settled'. Arlathan Forest has been left to its own devices. The Brecilian Forest was the site of several Elvhen settements. The Dales were abandoned by the Elvhen and didn't have anyone living there until the granting of the Dales to the elf disciples. And they discovered a ton of ancient elf ruins and lore, probably how the ex-slaves got back in the groove and started with the formalized Creator worship, building more shrines, and having Emerald Knights patrolling their borders. And apparently Skyhold was another settlement of theirs.

Now, I can buy the primitive cave drawings being from truly ancient elves, prior to the Creators' 'uplifting them'. But the red lyrium halla drawings in the Temple of Mythal imply that that was just their style. Then you have Fen'harel's fresco painting.

That doesn't mean that she won't find him in his dreams. She's done it before. Personally I imagine my mundane Lavellan trying her damndest to reach him on both sides of the veil. I picture that her need to find him is just great enough to have her nipping at his heels every time he dares to fall asleep. It doesn't matter how far away she is in the waking world, in his dreams, she'll be two steps behind. She's the sound of footsteps in the deserted memory of an ancient ruin, and a familiar voice calling his name. He has to wake up or she'll find him.

I'll bet it's agony for he who likes to live in dream, no? I'm overprotective of my Tiger Festival. That's bad news for you, Dread Wolfie. If she can't sleep well since you left, I'll be damned if you're enjoying any lengthy naps in my headcanon until she finds you again in both worlds.

The desire demon stuff could be a concern though. Since I can't help but imagine Cole joining my Lavellan on the hunt for Solas, I have a wonder if a more spirited Cole might be capable of protecting her from such things in her dreams. Or at least warn her. She's not a mage, so Tiger may be ill equipped to recognize them. I do remember a banter after I made him more spirit-y, where Solas asked Cole if he could return to the Fade and he replied that he could, whenever he wants - a wispy, light thing. But, is that a one way road, or a revolving door? Hmm...
