Did someone answer my post about why the Inquisition battlemage armor sometimes shows up as red and sometimes as orange? If you look away from this thread for a minute, stuff gets buried deep.

So, I need some romance advice. It's my first Solasmance pt and I just got to Skyhold and just got the Fade kiss. My problem with my Cullenmance was that I didn't pace it very well and burned through all the romance content too quickly. Is there a reason to hold off on the Fade kiss? If so, what's a good time to start it if I want the "slow burn" romance? Can I even get a slow burn romance with Solas?

Yep, Birdy is right. It is impossible to rush Solas's romance, as some of the key events happen only towards the end of the game.

My only advice is to maybe space out his conversations so it doesn't feel like you go a long time with nothing. He has those stories he can tell you about spirits, memories, and ruins. I try not to listen to all of them too early. Which of course I totally did in my first play through.
edit: Those aren't tied to the romance. It is as Birdy and Mims said, his romance scenes are directly plot related. Since Solas has less content I try now when I romance him, to spread out his regular dialogues.

More player-insertion, more meta insanity, more amazing writing. The whole thing is just so damn impressive, now that I feel like I have my head around some of the larger parts: the war for the Soul of Seraphym-egg Thedas, the Triad, Balance, and Magic as Choice. And Solas is right at the heart of all the crazy. I can't believe they almost didn't put in a Solavellan route. It's completely brilliant.
I do wonder about his silence after Adamant, I headcanon that he didn't dare open his mouth because he knew he'd blow up about Grey Wardens and darkspawn in general. What he knows he can't handwave by saying he saw it in the Fade.
It might DAO nostalgia but his attitude towards the Wardens does annoy me. If he knows something that would help he should say rather than condemning everyone for misunderstanding the Blight.

Can non-mages become abominations?
Yes. If corpses can, then non-mages can. I believe it's happened a few times in-game? It's just not as likely, same as with the Tranquil, because demons are attracted by power and emotions. But a demon could possess a Tranquil, if it had the desire to do so. Same goes for a natural non-mage.
ah yeah I see that now, it's in the demon design section....maybe she was an alternate design for a desire demon? kind of an interesting idea to portray an elf as a demon...or maybe she's some other kind of demon that we haven't seen yet...sometime to do with growth? like an angry mother nature? or wait, like the lady of the forest? OOOOOH maybe the Lady of the Forest was going to make an appearance but it was scrapped because she's dead in a lot of playthroughs?
Looked like a Lady of the Forest to me. The one we met in DA:O was, according to an interview some time back, not the only one. And not all of them (or even most of them) are friendly like she was.
Ick. It's like in some horror movies where someone has spiders burst out of their mouth/eyes, or scarab beetles as a mummy. It would be an interesting guardian and trap if it could look a bit like the Lady of the Forest as a lure, then if the hapless victim makes it angry it starts growing the flower bits from orifices and thorny vines rip out of the ground from the plant its bound to.
Like. Plant broodmother, oh god. That would be terrifying if we find out something like that was a precursor to broodmothers because embedded knowledge in the first elves to become darkspawn passed on a more twisted version.

If I had to guess, its either because he's projecting his own issues on the wardens- wardens are people who make difficult choices for the greater good and frequently don't question the consequences, or perhaps he legitimately doesn't know how to stop the blight. Just that their methods for containing it are wrong. [And without an alternative, they are unlikely to listen to him.]
God i am so in love with the thought of Mythal and Fen'Harel being best friends back in Arlathan. I want to see fan art of them hanging out being powerful, relaxed, and goofy together.
I'd love to see some fan renditions of the rest of the pantheon. I don't think I've seen too many yet.
