Sorry to bother our resident lore-heads  

 

But i was wondering about the Dalish Keeper (s?) of that one clan, I think its Ralaferin, who we learn told lots of dubious Elvhen and Gods tales to the Dalish. Do we know something else about that clan? Did they maybe have ulterior motives to spread those tales or were they simply 'embelishing' for the sake of storytelling. 

 

After learning some truths from Solas and the elven ruins she visited, I was thinking maybe my Lavellan would be interested in seaching out that clan to figure things out.

 

But basically Im jsut curious if there were details/proofs on how tales got mangled in the game.

Anyone else have a romanced warden Alistair but their warden did the ultimate sacrifice? I did and I waited and waited for alistair to mention her. But he never does. I was hoping he'd say something. I left him in the fade to die because I couldn't leave Fenris alone and at least that way Alistair and my warden could be together again.
But I was really disappointed that a romanced warden alistair doesn't mention dead warden.

This is my intention with the current PT, I'll send him to the Maker with her this time XD And yeah he didn't mention her at all at Crestwood but if you talk to him at Skyhold, there's a moment he sound very sad when talking about sacrifice and stuff...something like the Inquisitor with the mark on their hand would know about sacrificing, he must be thinking about his dead lover there.

Oh my gosh. I never realized how much Solas was gettin' it during that first kiss until people started messing around with flycam. Look at the thigh placement and everything.

I just wanted to say that it looks like Lavellan stuck her hand into the arm hole in his vest thing. The better to hold on to the roller coaster ride happening right then. Also so that he could have two hands free for a butt grab. That's the important part, yes?

I am currently reading Book of Thedas, the Fade part, and an idea stroke me.

It is said, that spirits shape the Fade by mimicking the pieces they see through the eyes of dreamers. And the only constant is the Black City. What if it is reflected from the thoughts, memories, of some extremely powerful dreamer, or dreamers, that are still, in fact, sleeping? And that's why it's the only thing, that is not everchanging?

Must I bring up lovecraft? That a dead god can still dream?

Ooh, yes, I have wondered this myself.  I wish we could ask Solas specifically about Ralaferin's teachings (although, his general distaste for Dalish culture would, I suppose, answer that in kind, but stiiillllll....)

 

Also, I need to buy more of the books, I have yet to get started on TME.  I read Asunder in a day and a half... lol.

Ooh. That is an awesome thought. That also fits the theory that the black city is a mirror of Arlathan, and considering the elven gods are immortal, it would certainly seem to have been projected forever...

I made a theory post kind of about that a few pages back. I agree with the idea that the Black City is Arlathan's Fade twin. And! We know that Abelas and company have been in and out of Uthenera for ages. There has to be some other pockets of ancient elves in other forgotten places. There used to be ones in the ruins of the Brecilian Forest. There are wild places that no one has even bothered exploring to the south of the Korcari Wiles, and west of Orlais.

Him and Nevervinter Nights DnD. They had amazing parts about dead gods, their bodies, floating somewhere creepy and all that.

Sounds like that clan is one of the few who actually writes their history. These books/notes are found alot of elven ruins. Whether or not they are still alive is questionable. We still find books by brother Genitivi and he's dead.  He died by the warden-commander's hand or suicide before the chantry establishment in Haven.

Also... we know that several of the powerful noble dreamer class of Arlathan were murdered in uthenera before/during the fall of Arlathan. I wonder if their spirits/ memories/ dreams still have an effect on the fade?

And we must remember, that the Black City is unreachable. Maybe, it's due to the fact, that its dreamer(s) are somewhere also out of reach. My guess is that Tevinter magisters had to be not far away from them to actually assault the Black City.

This may sound like a silly question but it's been on my mind for quite a while now so I just had to ask -- What is it that Solas is wearing for an inner shirt exactly? Bodywraps? 

Whatever he's wearing, it's leather. I know this because when creating custom armor for him that has leather spots, the leather changes the color of the wrap thing.

 

I honestly think it's a full (leather) body suit he wears underneath everything as like... insulation maybe? And I think it's a full body thing because you can see it peeking out at his chest and then it's on his calves/feet too.

@Janesutin I think she's really pretty and I like the color combination you picked for her. Even her hair looks a little purplish. She definitely looks more mature than you other Lavellan too. What age are you saying she is?

That might also mean that any dreamers left in Uthenera are buried underground towards the center of Thedas. Since the Black City is seen at all points in the Fade, it means it must be "seen" or reachable from anywhere in the world. If Solas is to be taken at his word, then dreaming in Denerim means you can't walk to Skyhold in the Fade, but theoretically you can reach the Black City.

 

It might also be why it's floating in the sky from everywhere, like lots of rocks do. Spirits don't really have a concept of "underground" in the firm sense like dwarves do, so it probably seems like it's suspended somewhere, rather than anchored like we would think of it.

I always thought the leg wrap things were done separately and the thing at his neck is something to keep the wind from getting into his sweater. On the whole, his outfit looked way too thin for standing around in Haven. He made me feel cold.

I'm just thinking soft and Prune-y skin. Leather wrap doesn't sound like it'll allow skin to breathe. It's like wearing a rubber glove for an hour with the result being a prune-y, sweaty hand.
