And what about the Nevarrans, with their elaborate necropoleis?  Apparently such things were a common practice in the ancient world, and not tied to any one culture.  Is there a correlate for Nevarra in our world?

 

The Grand Necropolis and mummification rituals of the Mortalitasi seem inspired by Ancient Egypt. Etruscan necropoleis could have been an inspiration as well, though they did not mummify their dead. Otherwise Nevarra is an Andrastian nation, yes?

Apparently, elves use to be built a LOT differently. I won't lie: I've angled the camera a few times just so...

 

Tiger Festival has developed a particular patrol for checking on her inner circle every time they're back in Skyhold. From the stable and merchants to the tavern area, upstairs and over the ramparts towards Cullen, and finally she takes the bridge across to Solas's rotunda. Why? Because it seems like every time she takes this route, she manages to catch him bent in rapt contemplation of the items scattered on his desk. The view as she approaches him slowly from that doorway... Rawr.

 

That is... uh,  she takes the slow approach so as not to disturb his research. Yes. That is the reason.

And me being like "it's blood. There is flesh in there too. Bonus! It was going to be a baby if it was fertilized. You can't see it but the egg was in there. So i mean that counts too"

 

And the demon just leaves all grossed out.

He's a man who loves to teach, and loves imagination. He would like kids a lot. I'm not a huge fan of kids, but I can see a teacher inside Solas. 

 

He's a very patient man. Most of the time when he gets annoyed, he lets that anger go really quickly. (because he knows that anger, hate, greed, ext feed bad demons). He treasures curiosity, intellect, and wisdom. He would greatly enjoy being around kids who want to learn. And he would be okay around bratty kids because he would tell them scary stories to get them to behave.

 

The guy loves playing tricks and telling stories. Nap time would be like the magic school bus for him and any kids he was given to take care of. 

 

I'm getting warm, fuzzy feelings inside now.

Hey guys! Apologies if I'm interrupting any conversations, but I have a question.
So I was rewatching the Temple of Mythal cut scenes and it had me inquiring about something. If you don't Solas with you (blasphemy) does Abelas still leave peacefully? If yes, who convinces him to venture forth then.
And Abelas says "You have the features of those who call themselves elvhen. You bear the mark of magic which is...familiar." Then later he has that conversation with Solas about elven such as you. I remember awhile back someone was saying he was talking to Solas the first time, not your Lavellan. Was this ever proven? Has anyone tried to not take Solas along (blasphemy) to see what happens?

I did take my lady elf with Dorian rather than Solas....

Solas' sad eyebrow look always gets me. It's like that in real life too. I can be extremely angry, but when I see a genuine sad puppy look, I just can't stay mad. T_T

Wow, this shot in particular is beautiful. I can't get over how expressive faces are getting in games. There's still a wonkiness, but that gap is closing sharply. Solas's downcast eyes are amazing.

I have notice that his face and even his walk is fairly wolfish. Then the end scene just solidified it for me. Just...damn. Wolf with his tail between his legs.

Yeah. At first I was thinking, "where is everyone seeing these wolf similarities?" but then I realized that...yeah, when he turns his head just right, he really does look wolfish. Especially when he's angry. That scrunched-up nose is such a snarl. It's the ears and the facial structure that does it.
