Out of likes but this good
I especially like Varric's.
His was my favorite too. No, it was Hawke's. Or was it Sebastian's?
Gah, I dunno. They're all great.

Bioware doesn't seem very fond of happy endings, or even remotely...fair. I have a gut feeling Solas' is going to be tragic from beginning to end. Now excuse me while I go cry in the shower for an hour or two.
Honestly? It's more complicated than that. Especially when you look at the Qunari. You can't really apply "racist" to a fantasy context when in the real world "race" means something very different.
Maybe we should be using speciesist instead of racist?
I'm still (foolishly) clinging to the hope that his story has a chance at ending on a brighter note. I'm stubborn like that.
However, if they are really intent on letting his story end tragically... *cries*
I think I'll go to bed now...
I wish you happy ending dreams. T__T

Likewise. Goodnight people!

I don't know since you can frick frack with qunari, dwarves and elves just like with a human suggesting anatomically they all share similarities enough to attempt procreation. So race might be accurately be used, they are genetically different but its like talking about a lion and a tiger getting together. Uuuh or something?

The train scenario to me always seemed to be more a question not "who should I choose to save" but rather "should I even intervene?" What if the scenario is set up by someone evil for the express purpose of coercing the other person into choosing to save his loved one, and that decision facilitates some evil he would never commit? Then the moral choice would be to do nothing. I personally think most of the awful stuff that happens in this world is precisely because people feel they have to act, even if the only options are bad. It takes a strong person to resist meddling without knowing the ultimate outcome. Maybe this is the biggest lesson Solas needs to learn.

good night!
(it's 2:26 PM here so I'm still around to spout nonsense and be annoying)

Eh. I only played mass effect and Dragon age so if Solas says he's going to walk the path alone, he's going to walk it. Just like Thane said he was going to die and just like Shepard saying the reapers are coming.

Does anyone know if half-elf, half-dwarves exist? Does the dwarfiness 'win out'? Or do we have no evidence of this ever being attempted?
I really think someone needs to convince him that things'll never be perfect, otherwise he'll be running in circles. Only these circles could easily destroy the whole world.
You mean like this?

I'll just see myself out now

@phaonica - that's a really good point & may offer some additional insight into why Solas distances himself from Lavellan despite his obvious longing to be with her. If he leaves, he reduces the chance that he will ever be placed in the position to make such a choice. Perhaps that is why he tells Cole he has to walk his lonely path forever.

Yeah most solasmancers are being very Turian Council bro and going "NO THAT'S BULLSHIT LOL YOU ARE CRAZY WE ARE GETTING BACK TOGETHER YOU'LL SEE" I can already hear the blow-horns of Bioware angst.
So I tried the tips that were linked from the "better screenshots" thread (specifically, the SRWE tool - I had the other two already). My first results (spoilered for size):
I loooove playing around with depth of field, it's almost like having a real camera ![]()

I remember Gaider answered this question on tumblr once, he said dwarf/human offsprings are rare because dwarves have a very low fertility rate. And usually should a child be conceived it would just be a short human or taller than the average drawrf.

I don't think it's foolish. The story is set up to go either way. He could literally have the most tragic story ever because he's already built as this lonely and sad character who just could never learn his lesson. Or he can finally change. Redeem himself and the story would be just as powerful. Hopefully it's done well no matter what.

If an elf has kids with anyone other than an elf, it always turns out as the race of the non-elven parent. Sandal is rumored to be either half human or half elf. Since a human/dwarf child would look like a tall dwarf, and Sandal isn't, that means he's likely elf-blooded. It likely explains his unusual magic affinity.

These look gorgeous! Not enough to feed my solas need. *weeps* i need more solas HelP

Racist is such a weird term for me when referring to this video game.
In real life, racism has such immediate negative connotations (especially in the US right now) that I feel it is really far removed from what's going on in this game.
I know technically it's the same thing- but it doesn't really...feel that way, for lack of another way to put it.
Maybe I just think racist is too strong a word to describe how Solas (or Sera) feel about the elves or any other species.

Oh, gorgeous!
I wish I could get SweetFX working..
It also explains why Sandal would be hearing Mythal. There's another elf slave that talks about Mythal coming into his dreams- it seems like she's been communicating with select people. Although to what ends, who knows.

OHH. Sandal. Yeah, half-elf makes total sense with the June connection. Thanks!
