Wonder how many Solavellan's did Thanes romance.

I did, obviously. My canon always does.  Kaiden was as boring as a pair of tube socks.  I liked Garrus but more as a buddy.  I knew Thane was going to die, but I liked the guy! It wasn't like he was dying right that day. At least Thane tried to send her love letters in jail.  Thane is so the best. 

 

More on topic: I think the worst part about the Solas romance is that you're blindsided by everything.  Lavellan is totally in the dark as to who is, why he dumps her.  Depending on how you played your character she may be having doubt that he even loved her despite what he said. Words are meaningless unless there is action to back that **** up.  And all he did at the end of the game was completelly torch their relationship for no apparent reason(or at least to Lavellan - we as the player know somewhat).   Thane's romance was sad but Solas' is like a knife to the chest.

Not that I'm bitter or anything (ha!) but we'd have a better chance at getting a happy ending if Solas was Solina and only romanceable by male pcs. 

 

Best and only way for NPCs to get epic plot armor.

Speaking of science...

It's said, that Thalsian, dreamer from the Neromenian tribes, claimed that he ventured to the realm of the Old Gods, where Dumat taught him blood magic (ref. The World of Thedas). Soooo, it is only logical to conclude, that whatever the Old Gods are, they dwell within the Fade. Some of them. Dumat. Yeah...

 

EDIT: Oh, and considering how easily Quizzie shapes the Fade into Haven, it's very possible, she's also a talented dreamer.

I may be mistaken, but I think it's Solas who shapes the Fade to look like Haven in this scene. Since it's a place Inquisitor knows well and would be comfortable with.

I may be mistaken, but I think it's Solas who shapes the Fade to look like Haven in this scene. Since it's a place Inquisitor knows well and would be comfortable with. 

As I remember, he compliments Quizzie on her ability to shape it so easily. I have to re-run this scene just to be sure, I guess.

Agreed... I always knew that Thane was going to die -- I was never in the "cure for Thane" camp. The thing I disliked about that romance was that there was pretty much no reaction to his death, and the assassin seemed to be introduced just because (I know he was in the books supposedly, but I hadn't read them). Shep should have been really heartbroken over Thane's loss but it was glossed over. The romance itself wasn't that sad.

 

Solas' hurts. You don't know you're walking into a tragedy until you're already committed (literally, when the romance locks in). Then you connect everything and it's hard not to feel bad for the guy because his life is just terribly lonely. And now Lavellan's life is lonely because he left her. Everyone is lonely xD.  Someone needs to move on in some DLC or (what I'd prefer) they need to be reunited. Throw me a potion/cast a healing spell on me Weekes!

Really confused on the fade scene, Since he says something like "Lets go somewhere else." Then you are in the fade, and Inky is going "wowhah we are in the faddee" and you wake up in your bedroom.

 

But another chat option has him saying you sought him out?.. Somehow? Why was he suddenly sleeping, Why are you in Haven. How do you contact him as a non-mage like that? 

 

That is super confusing to me.

At this point I'm about 95% sure Solas is going to be a villain so the only thing I can hope is that he's a compelling one and they don't make him act like a moron to directly go against how smart he's supposed to be. That's just lazy writing. However, I would advise being prepared for him to be involved in creating a lot more bloodshed.

 

Also, is it bad that I'd be willing to fight him just to see him go full Dread Wolf? I really hope he has a whole enormous wolf transformation and that it's as badass looking as the wolf on his non-romanced tarot card. I just really like wolves.

In the non-romance dialogue he says that when you went to him and asked to talk to him you did it in your sleep. So you basically found him in the fade in the first place but didn't realize it.

I think they were both sleeping already, and when quizzy sought him out in his room-ish area, that was also inside the dream. Then, Solas just changed up the Fade scenery to Haven because it was relevant to what he wanted to discuss. My interpretation is that quizzy sought Solas out in their dreams (probably through the mark), and it surprised him, but he just went with it. LOL

Edit: @TanisLave, I'm thinking he'll be like Loghain as far as his role in the story. Not the ultimate big bad but an antagonist type all the same. (PS, I love Loghain so maybe that's why this idea doesn't bother me that much haha)

Tbh, I'm not 100% convinced he's going to be a villain, he might be a anti-hero(( Am I using that word right?..)), who doesn't want you meddling in whatever he's doing but.. The voices you here in the Well scene seem to lend itself to something the warden/Wardens are doing. Which involves the Calling. I think they are going to play him in a similar style of Morrigan, where you don't know what he's doing, Or if he's evil or good. But I don't think they'll make him a outright big baddie, especially after making him so relatable as a Companion.

In one of the dialogue options, he explains that you sought him out in the Fade, I believe. I know he definitely mentions it if one of the options is chosen, but I don't remember the exact wording. It implies that quizzy found him in their dreams; Solas knows this right away, but quizzy doesn't realize it's a dream until the part where Solas tells her/him to wake up.

Maybe the inquisitor sought him out because of the mark. It could really go either way or both. I mean, my inquisitor was forever running to Solas's room to try and get him to talk to her, so it's not surprising she'd dream about doing the same thing. LOL.

I got a good mix of heartbreak/non heartbreak.
