And maybe this is nutbag territory, but I can't help but get the same kind of feeling from the dead/broken orb as I get from Mythal during the end scene.  She was human once yes- but by the end, doesn't it seem like her entire physical form is made of the same... stuff?  Even her clothes are the same color.  She's not a dead human in actual clothing: it's all Earth, but lifeless.  Without Song- completely used up.

Did anyone else get the sense something was very wrong with Mythal/Flemeth in the scene where you confront her with Morrigan? She has that creepy line about how "now we dance" or something to that effect. Reminded me of the Rachni queen. I mean, Flemeth has always been cryptic and creepy, but she has always given me the impression she was in control of herself, at least.

Since you brought up Scuttlebutt, I often wonder this.  Why do people discuss story and characters in Scuttlebutt?  isn't it for articles and social media stuff?  Split into spoilers and non-spoilers.  I get so confused when I go over there and see Sera hate threads and Solas theories.  Dudes, wrong forum.  Right?  

 

 I do this occasionally just to keep the non-Solas clutter down.  owo;   Bioware doesn't really have an official "drop your crazy theories here" spot.  The game world is all connected, sure, but some of these theories have really tenuous relation to the character, which has got to be irritating to people who come here primarily for art, fic, and commiseration.

Here's a better question anyway do you save your LI or do you save the entire rest of the inquisitions inner circle. Including Krem, Dagna and Lace.

 

This is the train thing? So, derail the train off a bridge and save your LI at the cost of all the Inquisition passengers, or let the train hit and kill the LI are the obvious options? And am I to assume the inquisitors are on the train too?

 

I would write this scenario as ending just so for Tiger and Solas: Instead of derailing the train, she will elixer down time (go Tempest!), backflip arrow to Solas, and have just enough time to knife his ropes before the elixer ends. The train is rushing towards them, so they only manage to get their bits off the iron beams and cling to each other in the center of the track before it's upon them. They make out like they're in a dramatic action movie while the train passes over them.  Mmmmmhmmmmm~

 

Of course, a situation like that would be filled with hair trigger QTEs and frustrate the hell out of me. Many reloads. But I'd do it!

 

But if we can ONLY save one or the other. I'd pick Solas with no regrets. Does it make me a bad person? Dunno. I just figure, when you don't have time to think, your heart does it for you. I know that my Tiger would jump in front of the train herself to save Solas if she had to. Even if he hated her for it forever.

 

I would also like to qualify everyone's opinions on this by gently reminding you all that stopping or derailing a train on a dime is impossible, and that anyone tied to a track in front of one absolutely would be turned into a pancake. The train would also most likely derail on what's left of them, so in real life, Everyone dies. Moral of the story: Take the Bus.

That would be my guess. Those (or some of those, anyway) who put it up did so with good intentions perhaps. Protect the people and whatnot. But it was figured out, and now the system is hijacked by someone or something with less than noble intentions. Think the Rachni song from ME. The system has a single point of failure. Anyone who can learn to mimic the song....

 

Then the biggest question of this theory is: who stands the most to gain from having the veil in place? 

 

Unfortunately I don't have the answer. The elven gods could have created and exploited the system, but they clearly aren't making use of it now. In all likelihood, the veil might be part of the reason their prison door is shut so tightly. We have the forgotten ones who live in the void. We don't know what the void is, but it could be that the void is the fade itself.

 

It could be whoever the 'singer' is, whatever force that's behind the blight. Using the veil to transmit its song. We have the old gods, connected to the blight. 

 

What about spirits and demons? They don't seem to gain much from the veil, but on the other hand, powerful demons like the Nightmare seem to be just find feeding off of the dreams of mortals. They also seem to be the group most...quiet. Demons have always been a scary part of the fade, and they've arguably gotten more and more intelligent as the games went on. Imshael, for instance, is essentially his own person. In fact, when Felassan tells Imshael that 'something big was coming to Thedas' [paraphrasing], Imshael seemed to understand what Felassan was talking about. Then, we later see him helping grow red lyrium for Corypheus.

 

It all means something. Just not sure what... /ponder

Since we're discussing disturbing things: I found this art on DA this morning. Really creepy. Really disturbing. I do not like the implications of it at all. Nope, not a bit.

It is amazing though. I don't know if anyone else has posted it - I refuse to go back and read 50+ pages simply for the sake of the inevitable headache I'll get from staring at a white screen all day - but it is great, so I thought I'd share.

Plus, if I have to be crept out by this, so do you. Mwahahahahaha and all that jazz.
