There is some refference to their brother being mad at fen'harel and trying to hill fen'harel in the andraste ties solas to a tree story.

 

Right.  Anaris (heavily implied to be one of the Forgotten Ones) has a problem with Fen'Harel's "crimes" against them.  First and foremost, I would imagine, having brokered a deal with Mythal to get out while the rest of his allies were still rotting in the Void.  Solas knew what he was doing, though.  Mythal had to keep a close eye on him while he was on "probation", and we all know how dealing with Solas is.  =w=

 

A few Socratic questions, a couple of prods to your worldview, and suddenly you blink and realize he's managed to completely change your mind about everything.  The Solas Effect™ works on Mythal, and she switches sides.  Cue second successful rebellion, murder of Mythal, fall of Arlathan, ensuing massive civil war, and sweep-up by Tevinter.

Yeah, but if it's canon that Solas can magically choose not to grow hair...does that mean all modern elves subconsciously choose not to grow beards and body hair? That's...arrow fired at the Breach, but not coming down weird.

Solas has eyebrows though, so maybe the baldness has something to do with Uthenera? Abelas and some of the other ancient elves at the Temple of Mythal were bald as well, correct? Which would imply something attached to the scalp or top of the head before entering sleep?

 

Ugh, never mind, that makes me think of alien abductions or something. Let's go with vanity instead - bald is better than thousand year old gray hair.

 

 

I just finished my first play through of Dragon Age: Inquisition.  I never played any of the games.  I immediately romanced Solas, for me there was no other choice.  Guess what? MY FREAKING HEART HAS BEEN RIPPED OUT OF MY CHEST FORCEFULLY, THROWN ON THE GROUND, AND TRODDED ON.  I want, NEEDED to fix my broken emotions, so I wrote a fanfic of what happens after.  It's not finished,I've just the first chapter/installment.  I will fix this horrible wrong. Note: I legitimately cried at the end like a little baby.  Not kidding.  I threw a fit and locked myself in my room.  It was bad.

I know there has to be a connection between the Old Gods and the Pantheon, what Solas says be damned. But I'm also really stuck on the idea of the Forgotten Ones being the Dwarven deities.

But in that theory the forgotten ones and the Old Gods are the same.

These theories do not mix. I probably shouldn't think so late at night.

I think what Solas said was purposefully misleading.  I am more than likely reading too much into it.  He says there is no lore connecting the Old Gods to the Creators.  That could mean that no one else has made the connection before and put it in writing.  That might not mean that they're not connected.

 

It could be worded that way as a red herring, or it could be nothing and I am just thinking too hard.  But I always found it curious.  I am open to there being some sort of connection.  I do spend way too much time picking apart everything he says now, lol.

I love Solas, I really do, but Mordin will always be my favorite.   Y'know, because it's so satisfying to have a 2D crush on a brilliant, funny character you can't mentally flirt with who spurns your every advance.

Sooo. I talked to Mordin so much in ME2 that he thought I was in love with him and gave my Shepard a nice letting-her-down-easy speech about how humans and Salarians can't really hook up. So I guess I was just getting a couple games ahead of myself?

Let me be clear: there is no doubt in my mind that the Old Gods map to the Elvish Pantheon.  Solas is literally telling you the truth, but it's an obvious misdirect.  He's trying, in game, to avoid people making any connection between his people, the Archdemons, and the voice that guided Corypheus to the Dark City.  

 

Because he knows exactly who that was.  *cough*   I'll just leave it at that.

I'm actually playing the endgame again, and so might have her respond to the breakup differently. Since the responses are two-part, it really kills me that you can't pick both "Are you kidding me?" ("Wait, what? I say no to you altering my face, and just like that, we're done?!") and "Don't do this to me!" ("Tell me you don't care. Tell me I was some casual dalliance so I can call you a coldhearted son-of-a-****** and move on!" *hits him and storms away*) as they're both perfect responses for my character, but the game doesn't let you have one and the other. *sigh* (Maybe this time I'll forgo the first and pick the second.)

 

One thing I do know... my girl tackles problems different. Plus, she gets pretty cold and frigid when she's angry. So she will try to come up with a solution before letting him anywhere near her bed. Fix the state of the world before dropping 'em and rebuilding the empire.

Out of likes, I swear I get like 5/day! lol My Lavellan is just a lot more passionate and carefree so I'm one of those who believe they did more than kiss *wink-wink*  . My mind never fails to go to the gutter first  . 

 

I wish we would've gotten more lines or time for her to at least vent her frustration. Solas is like, "we just got here but we're gonna break up and I'm leaving bye."
