Getting him to like you is easy since you can just ask him questions. When it comes to decisions, that's when things get conflicting.

Haven

Elf Inquisitor: Elves rules! Am I right? *Raises hand in anticipation of a high-five*

Solas Disapproves

Questions about  Corypheus

Elf Inquisitor: Tell me more about Corypheus.

Solas: Why don't you ask Cassandra or Varric? I'm sure they know more about it than I do.

Elf Inquisitor: Oh yeah! I forgot Varric already met Corypheus. Haha, thanks Solas! (:

Solas Disapproves

Conscript Mages:

As a player who played mage in every dragon age game. While most mages are acceptable you have to consider the lowest denominator when you are managing them because they make poor decisions every time. If the mages in the circle can't handle their own members, how can I expect them to take care of themselves if freed? Also until they pick a new leader other than Fiona, I shall conscript them rather than view as equals. Because I hate Fiona.

Solas Disapproves

Winter Palace:

Elf Inquisitor: You know what would be the real talk of the town? Stabbing Florianne in front of everyone.

Solas Disapproves

Elf Inquisitor: Elves rule. And Briala has the secret password to eluvians. And Leliana did say the lower the person, the more grateful they will be for rising them up.

Solas Disapproves

Well of Sorrows

Solas: Don't let Morrigan drink from the well, she's like a glutton staring at a feast.

Elf Inquisitor: Well we can't have two gluttons drink from the well. You should drink it, Solas

Solas: No. Don't ask me again.

Elf Inquisitor: Well ok, but I'll drink it.

Later:

Solas: I told you not to drink from the well!

Elf Inquisitor: Didn't I say there were two gluttons in the room?

Etcetera, and so forth. Lots of disapproves.  Lots of reloads.

In my current playthrough I'm making all the big decisions Solas disapproves of

- Saved the Templars (Though in the end, I did disband them because thanks to their actions I had to fight Envy. Envy sucked. And Solas approved of the disband. So I think this decision was a wash in terms of approval balance).

- Kept the Wardens. (Both Solas and Cassandra moaned about this choice)

- Drink from the Well (After this point, I know Solas is going to break up with the Inquisitor anyway so wanted to give this choice a try)

Still romanced him and still expect the same outcome regardless of approval at this point. I think the key was getting his approval high enough early on in order to actually romance him before making all the decisions he doesn't agree with

INFP here too! Woot.

I'm going to edit it and say I don't find this 100% accurate. I've always gotten ENFJ before.

So maybe it's just the test I took. :)

Where do you guys take your test? I find the 16personalities test to be not thorough enough.

If rift magic didn't suck so much. Sorry guy, but I felt rift magic was the lowest specialization for mages.

Really? I like it most. Prefer taking a rift mage with me any day.

I found a few gems in the shoves-your-hand-in-a-rift scene. I'm still editing the others but here's a non-Solas one for once.

I guess not even Varric can keep his pants on around Solas.

I just drank a lot of coffee to try and wake up. It is doing nothing for my sleepiness but everything for me finding this hysterical. Unsexy snort laugh in action. Lost the plot over here.

THE MORE I WATCH, THE FUNNIER IT GETS.

heeeelp me.

So how many of you had the kissy-kissy scene with Solas on the balcony only to then turn around and see the Quizquisition spying on you from your own closet?

I found him in my closet after sexing Dorian.

Quizquisition my arse, he was just covering for being a dirty, dirty, bastard.

I know why you were really there you pervert.

BSN let me like about 3 posts before telling me my quota is still full. ARGH. I have ten pages of posts to like. Why must you all post such good things!?

YOU'RE TEARING ME APART, LISA!

I'll be over here in the corner, waiting for my likes to come back and waiting for the caffeine induced madness to wear off.

I luffss yous guys flycam pictures :D It's making me want to dive back into the game and set off with my Female Lavellan replay. But I have played this game too much. I must persevere with non DA games...I can do it...

few seconds after because he shows her '' skyhold '' and says that and smiles and then his look changes a little but only more like to serious look haha

Really? I like it most. Prefer taking a rift mage with me any day.

I tested it out and the "firestorm" is based on the amount of meteors it releases. While it's an area attack the probability of them hitting the enemy is random. "Pull of the Abyss" pulls the enemies to the center but so does the Storm's "Static Cage", which not only pulls enemies to the center upon reaching the edge, it damages them. "Veil strike" could be useful though. But it's my personal preference to use fear to combine with Static cage. If you're aiming for a support class, rift mage might be good.

I do not like to play mage, so it's usualle me+mage. And the pulling can at least kill wraiths on its own, damage others (I think). If I have two mages in the party, it's rift + static cage. The latter helps (close to) zero against dragons, Templar Horrors & desire demons, which is bad. And the other enemies are easier, anyway.
How is KE?

Am I the only one who gets Solas to approve actually almost everything ö.Ö (by accident)

I've found it very difficult to get him to properly disaprove. I get the feeling he's not going to like my human mage much, but that's only because she has traditional views on spirits and demons.  Since he pretty much approves of 'being nice' she's going to make that approval back easily.

ENFJ this time.

I quit. lol.

Anyway good MORNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING.

Re: Riftmage

I never once used firestorm, not ever. I always used the veilstrike or maybe it was punching down- idk. But at high levels it was pretty high dmg output whatever it was.

I rarely used focus abilities except on dragons and Corypenis at the end.

From what I heard, people say KE is so over-powered that it was possible to kill a dragon solo. That was enough for me not to try it. I wasn't sure if I wanted necromancer or rift mage so I tested both and ended up with the former.

Pretty much.  My dragon tactics can be summed up as 'Vivienne' and also as 'everyone supports Vivienne'

ALL HAIL THE INTROVERTS, FOR THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH!

That'd be problematic, wouldn't it?

We'll all just.. sit in silence.. have a very small circle of friends... keep to ourselves..

It won't be easy creating new regulations, they'd be like "so.. got a new suggestion for rule?" "yes.. But I'm too shy to bring it up"

Jk, introverts =/= shy.

Still, the image amused me.

I can imagine. Mage itself feels far to overpowered already. Had to play through the main story and ignore side quests, so I would not level up too much. Is it just my feeling or is the same party setup with a mage IQ much stronger?

- ramble ramble -

Solas... has a dangerous edge to him, hasn't he? It's his drive, his passion, his idealism and desire to do things "for the greater good". I'm an idealist myself (INFP type, "raging perfectionist" according to tvtropes), so I can understand how it goes. Sort of. You start off by thinking about people. You try to help them in a way that does not put anyone in danger. But it's not enough. It's never enough. Bad things still happen all around you. And then a moment comes when your emotions take over and you think: "Screw this! I'm going to change everything!" In this moment, ironically, you are not really thinking about people; the idea of "greater good" becomes separate and more important than everything else. You basically become detached from reality, with a pretty picture in your head obscuring everything. And if no one brings you down from the clouds, you'll go on like this. But the real world will never be as pretty as the picture in your head. Whatever you do, it'll never be enough. And you either learn to accept the world, imperfect as it is - or you keep trying, never quite getting there. There's a reason such characters tend to die in fiction. Ofc, I hope that Solas won't die, or that we'll be given a chance to spare his life at least. ^_^

I just like psychology and analyzing things, don't kill me

I'm an INFJ, that's when things can get REALLY scary. *g* I think Hitler is listed as one, lol. That actually makes sense to me...
I see INFJ as the most out of touch with reality of them all.
I mistook Solas for a dark INFJ at first. I see many of my flaws in him. I guess that's where the love/hate comes from I have for him.
I can relate to Morrigan's outward pleasant indifference too though. I like her playfulness a lot. I'd be like her if I wasn't so emotional. I'm a mix between her and Solas. I guess there is a general feeling of connectedness between the IN types. EN too. My best friend is an ENFJ, bless her.

And yeah, no surprise Solas is a total INFP/J trap, hahaha. We love the tragic stuff.

I think it's important to preserve our idealism but not let it blind us. That was my whole point about Solas. He can never fix it. It will never be perfect. He is chasing an illusion, and that can be a dangerous thing. It's not easy to strike a balance between dream and reality. On the one hand change is necessary, but at what cost? We need people with passion who will fight for freedom but making choices on our own according to our personal vision rarely ends well... It should not fall on one person to decide for the entire world. Democracy is a great concept... but doesn't really work out in reality it seems. A monarchy could work too if the ruler was kind. I love communism - in theory. Doesn't work in reality though either. So there is no solution. All we have is compromise, constant struggle to make the future a little bit better before it gets worse again. It's incredibly depressing and almost unbearable to me. But I cannot let my pain turn bitter. God knows what I would do...

That's why characters like Solas make great sympathetic villains or deeply flawed heroes. We cheer them on because we understand their pain. We want to believe there is a perfect solution. It would be worth all the bloodshed, right? RIGHT?! *sigh*
