I am somewhat perplexed by all your science bibble-babble-drabble, but I heartily approve.
My favorite high school biology teacher and I had to talk about ancient human migration patterns and tracking it via DNA as opposed to his field or my liberal arts fascination because of how terrible I am with science. But I do love science.
The only thing I can point out in your hypothesis that's off is that the kossith weren't devastated by the Blight. They had a single colony in the Korcari Wilds which was wiped out. And the Blight was localized to Thedas, not wherever the kossith homeland is. (The Qunari seem thrown by the idea of Blights and darkspawn, judging by Sten's mission. A Blight sounds like one of the things the priesthood would remember and inform the Arishok of.) The women were turned into broodmothers, producing the first ogres and greatly helping them besiege dwarven kingdoms. There could be some other genetic bottleneck though, right? Just going off of Barindur, maybe the Equator of Thedas has more active volcanoes? (I'm going to go ahead and say that the kossith homeland is hot, judging by the Qunari's in-game weakness to cold in Origins.)
And don't worry about approaching theories from a science perspective. That's your background. I approach it from a social studies perspective because that's the only useful way I can contribute.
Madrar has physics and mind-boggling complexity. Lizasaurus has art and literature, and so on. Team Mordin.
I am somehow still out of likes, but
theory-face for both of you. Any explanation behind the location of the Korkari Wilds colony, Caddius? It seems an awfully long way in the wrong direction from where I thought the Kossith were... but maybe my concept of the larger layout of the planet is skewed.
Also, the thought of all of us joining Thundercats-style to create a huge mecha Mordin is amazing. @w@ YEAH.
