All I watch is anime.
/sadface
That's broader than what I watch, which is just western animation.

Also I had a hat.
And I loved Jonathan Brandis. So much. Teen Beat pull out posters level of love.
And my favorite episode is when they were on the haunted ghost ship.
UGH.
RIP Jonathan Brandis
My dad is a big sci-fi nut so I'd watch that with him and Star Trek: TNG - but I always loved SeaQuest more because Jonathan Brandis was also in Ladybugs(UGGG...i loved him too much). When it popped up on Netflix, I was just like 'oh, i'll rewatch that.' and god help me, i still remember the opening narration word for ****** word.
I am really dating myself here.
Ever since I realized he seems to have some kind of undersuit thing going on, I've been imagining him and the other gods wearing tight bodysuit things. I keep thinking of like... the tight space suits in Prometheus and things like that. Or wetsuits. Or compression clothing.
Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think that leather bodysuit thing he has going on is some kind of compression suit to help with circulation and/or insulation. Maybe to do with uthenera?
Of course, I might just be putting too much thought into it. lol
Quoting myself because I want to discuss this.
RANDOM QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What does everyone think Solas's leather underthings actually are?
Picture reference:

What I wouldn't give for actual polyamory in the game...or a good polyamory mod.
Edit: Top Solas.
He looks like he's trying to help her get an eyelash out of her eye.
"Tsk, hold still while I take a look."
I sure know how to suck all the romance out of a moment
my bad.

RANDOM QUESTION OF THE DAY:

Leather bandages. Thermal body suit. Partial gimpsuit.
Pick your poison.
I am guessing it is something of an undersuit, but probably not as restrictive as that sounds. You'd want to be able to get out of it. There's probably latches or laces on the side, and it'd be in two parts.
It likely protects from the cold, and provides minor armor.
I really like characters with layering, I love seeing concept art with the type of "First layer of armor" and then having their *outfit* be built upon that.
So I'mma go with some type of undersuit which is outfits are then building upon.
I've been wondering the same thing about those leather wraps... especially the bit showing around his neck. It keeps going down wrapped horizontally. Like how, he should be a mummy or his shoulders wrapped tight through the length it goes. I mean I dont know but it kinda bothers me.
Still collating/processing theories but had some quick
tin foil hatnew approaches to these:
4 dots = Crossroads
Moon = Veil, and the fade beyond
Sun = Physical Realm
Water = The Void
In TME, Felassan seems to know *of* the crossroads and Eluvian, likely to have used them before, and knew of typical servant practices regarding maintaining the rooms and those in "stasis". But he didn't know exactly how the eluvians or the crossroads worked. If Halamshiral was one of the hearts of the Elvhen Empire, it could have been home to Operation: Initiate Crossroads. This knowledge may have been reserved to those creators in power.
The Moon, said to be "created by Mythal", or recorded as such as something created by the Elvehn, led by Mythal. If connection to the fade was reserved for the privileged few, held in place by the veil, the fade (and possibly other places) would have been everything "beyond the veil" for most others.
Water being the weakest reasoning, relying on traditional concepts IRL of the "underworld" being related to rivers/seas (e.g. egyptian/norse mythology).
So relating this to an earlier conversation about Kirkwall and the crazy Forbidden One related blood magic which used to happen underneath it. Those mages were intentionally trying to weaken the veil in order to communicate with the baddies, right? What if Solas returning to this place after waking was because he was aware that someone was intentionally trying to weaken his veil "locks", with sacrificial rituals such as this?
Would mean that there is someone out there directly trying to counter Solas' efforts... Moriarty style.
It's a coping mechanism ok
How did I miss this post??! It's freaking brilliant. Like, actually amazing. I like this interpretation of Solas' tarot symbols so much. Part of my brain is shouting nonsense about the moon's direct link to tides, and how (in conceptual magic theory terms) the Fade acts as an ocean of water, transposed on the physical earth... Nothing obvious is snapping into place yet, but there may be something there.
I thought about posting my summaries as I go but decided that it may make the discussion too... clinical? More of a flowing, to and fro thought process seems more friendly.
I vote summaries! I think most of us have tough enough skin to stand our various theories getting dismantled or kicked to the side without taking it as a personal attack.
Leather bandages. Thermal body suit. Partial gimpsuit.

I think partial gimpsuit is my favorite out of those three.
So, obsession isn't new for you eh?
Nope. The only thing that changes is the focus. ![]()

Any one ever tweet Weeke's about it? Or would that be more in the Character Design/Art department?
Because I am STILL out of likes...
Can we also mention that the Freed Are Slaves mosaic features Qunari slaves? Not Elven? And it's like, way friggin old? And the Tevinter magister being a newer addition/ fix?
And what's that... SEVEN people overlooking the slaves? SEVEN? How many Old Gods are there? SEVEN?
Codex Entry Below

Totally connected the dots ![]()
I knew that was you!
Anyway- *turns pink, coughs* -secret's safe with me. Have to resist letting the game get too meta, or we'll wind up with a hopeless long-distance crush on some Weekes guy in Canada we've never met. Also, creepy coincidence, Amazon claims my copy of WoT V.1 is scheduled to be delivered today too. Time to dig in and take this whole thing apart, yeah? @w@
Maker forbid such a thing could ever happen! .....there's an ocean between us but who's counting *cough*
I wanted to just expand on James Deen, but I will put the explanation in a spoiler for those that prefer not to hear about porn. I guess it could be classified as NSFW. I really don't want to make anyone uncomfortable.
Spoiler
Ooohh, I see. I don't really watch porn so when I looked up why people kept bringing him up, he seem like a regular guy filming regular porn. But now that you explained it to me, it makes sense. Were you there when he had his AMA?
probably character design, I mean he could know but I doubt it.

That's his plugsuit. For when he runs off to go synchronize with his Evangelion unit. THE GIANTS WILL RISE AG-- oh wait, no wait. That's Neon Genesis Evangelion.
It does sort of remind me of that type of thing.
#Lizasaurus: Fascinating post! So does the fact that facial markings/tattoos are made with either lyrium or magic imbued blood mean that people's faces could have potentially functioned as actually living, breathing runes in the past controlled by the gods or masters of the slaves? Face geas?

I think I remember seeing a little note in the DA:I artbook that much of the armor in the game was designed with layers in mind so that the armor designs just build upon themselves. I can definitely tell that with Solas's armor, and many of the Inquisitor's outfits have the Skyhold/war table clothes (albeit in different colors) as the base.
.
GUYS. IT'S THE SAME. The Vitaar and the Vallaslin and the Dwarven Face Tattoos. THEY'RE THE SAME.
<snip>
Liz. I'm all out of likes, but this is so true it hurts.
A possible, but certainly debatable, point of extrapolation: the domain of the Elvish Pantheon was once the entire earth as we know it. Thedas used to be Mythal's kingdom, and as "Mother", the original elves were her particular chosen race. And though the Qunari themselves are not his direct creation (still think Tevinter mucked that up) I suspect the Fex homeland may be where the kingdom of Solas-as-Falon'Din/Dirthamen once was - the pre-Qun culture centered around the Pyramids and extensive reincarnation/mummification = uthenera (with bonus points for the Sun God trying to eclipse not only "Anubis" but everyone else) connection is too tightly bound to his domain to be purely coincidence.
It's possible if you go back far enough, each God's "slave markings" weren't mixed at all- conversion and the spread of followers from each Pantheon's domain is something that happened later, and was the source of a huge amount of internal friction and infighting.
I think a massive piece of the puzzle just fell into place for me. *mental high five*
It could also add more nuance & meaning to Solas' act of removing Lavellan's vallaslin. When he tells her she is free, it could be on an entirely different level than we currently understand.
Well, Aithne still wants to mark up to that cruel mf'er and demand her marks back.

You know what I'm curious about? Why Solas couldn't remove your scars as well. Not the sinking kind, the blemish.
