You're not missing much, that series was absolutely terrible.
They took a great premise, "What if everyone on Earth stopped dying, regardless of injury... while Jack is the only person who's now mortal" and made it absolutely boring, added the same old tired jokes about how the US and UK use different words for the same things, included too much filler and dull subplots that went absolutely nowhere, made how the immortality works inconsistent from one episode to the next, then ended with an explanation for it all that was frankly ludicrous.
That ending was atrocious, especially since I always suspected that the 456 were merely con artists who were using the same kind of blood control as the Sycorax in Doctor Who's "The Christmas Invasion" into conning us to give them drugs (they did find out they were junkies after all) and had no real power to destroy the world.
I doubted that their species even knew about Earth either or had any plans to attack it, how hard is it to imagine that they were like the Sltheen family are to the Raxicoricofallopatorians, a bunch of bad eggs from a relatively nice species, who find backwater planets and decide to screw with them?

OK, that and all the awesome lore discussion. So, hello all.

Seems like Torchwood has garnered mild disdain herebouts. Maybe I shouldn't bother? I just figured as a Doctor Who fan I was sorta expected to watch it, but I haven't. I was also hoping Netflix would get the new DW eps but they're taking that away at the end of the month, too. Bummer.
Switch your brain off and watch season one and two. Fun and stupid. Don't bother with anything after that.

You two need to have your brains rewired.
Kidding, I know he's not to everyone's taste.
Oswin, your signature. I love you intensely right now. It'll pass, I promise.

Is it terribly cruel to say he looks like a weird alien human? The only role I know he plays outside of sherlock is Smaugg. He plays a good dragon.
Crazy thought about face geas & the codex about the Tevinter-Arlathan war that stated the slaves' bloodshed was enough to fill rivers - what if instead of the blood sacrifice we all thought it meant was actually the opposing sides using the face geas of their slaves to throw them at each other in battle while they watched in safety from afar?
Right?
I probably should stop watching this gif over and over and over again at work.
I..think I might have sat and watched it for 5 mins or so... I never watched Sherlock...

Honestly, I didn't get it until I started watching the show. So it's probably all mixed up with my love of how they are doing the characters and show overall getting mixed up into it.
I just recalled, elves are used in blood rituals because they have better connection to the fade (if I recall correctly).
What happens if you use Qunari? What is the possibility of Qunaris indeed being descendants of elves that were genetically modified using dragon blood so the Vints will have better ritual materials?
The mosaic "The Sacrifice" seems to speak about sacrificing Qunari in order to invade the fade?
http://dragonage.wik...ales:_Sacrifice
And obvious enough. There's skulls all over, and two big and horned. That brings to mind your Qunari, and fair enough, right? Tevinters hate Qunari and have ever since they showed up. No magister wants his mouth contradicted, let alone stitched. So it makes sense they're there, even that early, I suppose.Because this is probably that business of readying to invade the Fade, and giants with horns are a good motivator to sodding hurry up. Odd thing, though, is that those two are not the only Qunari in the carving. The one in the middle was sculpted with horns, and someone has gone in later and chipped them off. You can tell by the surface of it. Well, maybe you can't. But I can.
This makes me ask - why hide the fact they used Qunari in blood rituals?

Realised that comment could lead to unpleasntness, so I removed it.

I think that's an unfair comparison to Solas because the leggings on the Elvhen guardians at Mythal's temple also had interlaced leg armor. I think it's just a thing that isn't meant to be over-considered like that.
I'm.. not sure Solas/ Fen'Harel would have wanted to be over any one land or have a dominion. The image of him as "the one who hunts alone" is too clear in my mind. I was, however, reading over the Codex entry the Qun, Canto 1 and it is... pretty much exactly how I see Solas/ Fen'Harel. In fact, I am going to BLATANTLY ALTER the Codex to fit.
So interesting things about this codex excerpt that we can draw some lovely conclusions from.
1) Continued utilization of the theme of duality common in almost conversation with Solas about Spirits, Gods, and the world at large. See first bolded section.2) Fen'Harel wandered - for years at a time through many different cities and cultures. The one who hunts alone indeed. What's interesting about this segment is that the downtrodden, the oppressed, the poor, and slavery run rampant throughout all of these cultures. Remind anyone of the conversation he had with Dorian?
3) Resolved to meditate til he found the answer or perished? My... that DOES sound like Uthenera, doesn't it!?
4) "A hundred thousand locusts hatched from the barren ground, and as one, they turned south, a single wave of moving earth. The Dread Wolf rose and followed in their wake: a path of devastation miles wide, the once verdant land turned to waste." DEFINITELY sounds like a Metaphor for the Blight and the Darkspawn.
5) And the final quote section.. Like... REALLY? Do I even need to explain it? Fine. Have a Cassandra Solas banter that is that except rephrased.
TL;DR: The Ashkaari was like.. 99.9999999% probably Solas. Hence his anger and frustration at what the Qun has become in time and its limitations of free will on those who follow it. It's almost like the exact same disappointment he feels with the Dalish.
WALKING AWAAAAY~!
I only have one thing to say...
<throws all her likes at Lizasaurus> GOD, I love smart people!!!
As an outsider of sherlock, why do girls fawn over him? Can't be just his looks because before the actor played in sherlock he mentioned he didn't have alot of female fans. Is it his voice?
It's a combination of voice and just the character's attitude and way he carries himself, I think. At least, that's why I like him. LOL
I'm not attracted to Benedict Cumberbatch at all, but that was a very intense kiss...
I'll admit, when I first saw Cumberbatch, I thought he looked odd. xD But then after seeing some of his movies, I get why the ladies go gaga over him. ![]()
Kind of like my reaction to Solas. Thought he looked odd, then saw how carried himself and now I'm gaga over him.

Yeah, this is pretty much my whole theory behind why the Qunari exist: Tevinter using the Kossith and elves to create a slave race with more useful/powerful blood- blood with more Will in it. (The "fire" in your blood - the Will- is conceptually dragon-based. It's the Sun's contribution to physical entities.)
Stop me if that doesn't make sense to anyone. I'll go through the whole Will+Option=Choice/Creation magic thing.
I wanted to PM you about it because I am curious what you meant, but I can't PM you
