I think one of the DLCs will be about the calling (duh). But when the well of sorrows says "go to him" and "the calling". I think it's saying to go to the architect. The architect might be in the west, where the grey warden is supposed to be.

True, but you're still free to think them. It's not as though Cole tries to stop you or change you, or you get punished or altered for thinking the wrong thing.
And he blurts them out of careless naivete, not malice. Usually when characters ask him to stop, he'll apologize and try not to rummage or reveal it.
And it's also hinted that he knows there are some thoughts people really don't want revealed out loud that he doesn't, like Blackwall. It's hinted that Cole knew "Blackwall's" secret all along. While he gave some hints that he knew, he didn't say anything to anyone, so everyone was surprised when Rainier came forward in his personal quest.
Yeah. There's a very distinct difference between the Qun as it was originally written, and the Qun of modern Qunari. Same thing with the Chant and the modern Chantry. They were attempts at writing up a set of rules to create a social system that would stabilize the social forces of Order and Chaos, but as time passes, the organizations themselves begin to twist from their original... purpose....

Yes, it's not so subtle religious criticism. Bioware is all about spirituality. And how modern religion has been twisted into grotesque abusive institutions that have little in common with the original teachings. Religion has become about control and immutability, which is the opposite of what it is supposed to be. Religion should serve man, not rule over him as is even said in the game. And for that religion has to change with humanity and adapt. Cassandra embodies Bioware's ideal imo. Religion should promote freedom. We carry god inside because we have free will but with that comes responsibility towards other people. God is not a being you worship by taking freedom from people! It's the biggest sin you can commit in the name of god. Bioware REALLY wants people to understand that. Solas is telling us this!!! That we are supposed to be FREE. But in both Thedas and the real world, religion is turning people into sacrifices for gods. All this terrorism in the name of a god. People bind themselves to a dogma like slaves. Dragon Age is disturbingly close to reality these days with how radicalized the world has become. Listening to false prophets who twist religion into a tool for their power games.
Spirituality is important, religion is important to keep people connected on a fundamental basis. It's this collective unconscious thing. We are all one. We should all hear the same song, all people of the world. All religions pretty much teach the same thing as I understand it. But it has all gone to sh*t like modern Thedas. If Solas visited earth, he would find the exact same situation.
(I hope nobody feels offended by this. I'm not attacking anybody's religion, only how religion is being abused.)

Cole is also first and foremost a spirit of Compassion, no matter what choice you make. He doesn't make you actually forget the pain like Nightmare did, he helps you move on; he untangles the knot inside, explains it to you in simple terms because sometimes your emotions and thoughts get tangled up and you can't tell what is what anymore, and what you're feeling. Cole is a treasure and must be protected at all costs. XD

Rebellion and Justice aren't opposing concepts, so I don't think it's odd they are friends.

Exactly, I feel their roles are somewhat co-dependent to some extent. Why rebel if not to seek some form of justice, right a wrong.
