Nonono, I agree to some extent. Flemeth's manipulations during the past millennium seems to have affected the amount of chaos from reaching even more horrific levels.

I say if Flemeth is connected to Dumas like I tend to think she is, the Chaos is all her fault! :)

I've been thinking of Mythal as the order to Fen'Harel's chaos for a while.  Just in an abstract way, I like how poetic it is.  Old friends, and when Mythal's order dies, Fen'Harel's chaos overtakes Thedas.

Spoiler

I don't know if Morrigan would necessarily want to work to that effect, since the guy did technically kill her mother, or at least destroyed her body.

I love this thread. It seems to balance itself overnight, unlike other threads. Leave for a little while, come back, and everything's back to normal.

Like all arguments seem to resolve themselves overnight or after a single apology.

I think we've got some pretty great folks here.

Must be all the NF's here ":P

Under spoiler or through links only. Just to make sure those who wish to avoid it can.

Now I'm sad :(

Sorry.  (Why?  )

The parallels are most definitely there.   However, I think the Ashkaari was a conduit for Solas's ideas (Koslun was like Andraste) not Solas himself.  Like I said earlier: the inferred Qunari-Tevinter rebellion and rise of the Qun is almost a direct mirror for what happened in Thedas.  Revolution tears down an existing social Order, Philosophy of Choice gets set up, Philosophy is twisted horribly over time to support tyranny and Order.   Solas cries himself to sleep.

Then eventually he gets up and tries again.

Also, I have the weirdest hunch right now that Sylaise is just as bad as Elgar'nan, and that early humans (Tevinter) were her thing.  Ignore that for now.  It's probably nothing.

All this talk about the conduit... now I want to play Mass Effect again badly. >_<

Does anybody have an idea about the pyramids in Par Vollen yet? Are there pictures? The pyramids really irk me. They don't seem to fit with the viking thing of the qunari at all. Or any other culture really.

The protheans in Mass Effect are supposed to be space Egyptians... they had pyramids too. And they played god with the asari and helped them develop.

Sooo, if anybody can come up with a scenario where the krogan head is not just an easter egg but suggests it's the same universe and the protheans visited Thedas and left their pyramids there... then they get a big cookie from me.

But really, what's up with the pyramids? ;)

Well when asked how she would react to her mother dying she did say "before or after I stop laughing?"  lol I adore her love/hate relationship with flemmeth.

I'm not really implying relationships, especially where Solas and Morrigan are concerned.  I was just thinking about the concept in an abstract way.  Eh, it's just something that's been on my mind for a while, thought I'd just mention it since it was kinda mentioned.  Not really anything.

Because that just gives him more things to regret and beat himself over. And it makes me a puddle of hurt.

I'm not suggesting that he's really a force of chaos, so I don' t think he should beat himself up over that.  I just think weird things sometimes.

Annnd there's the whole thing that if Solas did take on Mythal Morrigan would now have to obey him (or the Inquistor if they drank from the well)... which could be problematic on various levels.

I still think that even if Solas was Shartan and Andraste was Mythal, they are just best friends. You can be really good friends and not be lovers.

I love your theories :D but what do you think of the fact that..

when Solas says to inquisitor that the explosion of unlocking the power should have killed the elder one. Also it should have sort of killed you right? and in the beginning they say that the mark is killing inquisitor.. she should have been dead as everyone says.. maybe the power might be killing her slowly? As Solas says: You were never gonna wake up... a mortal send through the fade.. how could you?  I was fightened.. frustrated... ( he was scared that she would have died and was sitting beside her because he could have been the only one able to stabilize the power since it was his orb and his powers inside the orb. He said that he was too weak to unlock the power after his slumber which makes sense a lot. He was able to keep the anchor from killing her though he is not telling it to other members because obiviously if he would have told them being a dread wolf.. an ancient elvhen god... who could have believed him.. also if someone would have.. the reaction that they could have gotten. It is understandable that he did not tell who he was and lied at some parts because he had a goal.. he always thinks the greater good and you can see it through the game. Still he admits that when he was younger he was arrogant and rebellious. Maybe he was young and naive and had strong opinions about things and rebelled because of that against something but really wanted the good.. yet because he was young and did not think more further his goal basically failed and he did a great mistake. It seems like that because he really seems to regret his past and he wants to correct everything.. he seems to want to help yet he does not now if he would die in the process or danger lavellan and that is the reason he leaves you and says to you that when lavellan says that she could help him to achieve whatever he needs together and he says '' no we can't.. you will see ''.

First of all. He did a huge mistake when he was still young which he regrets. He lied to lavellan because he had to. He let himself to fall in love with a mortal since he is thousands of years of old. Maybe the orbs power might also be still killing her? He was the one to be able to stabilize it? Maybe he seeks to undo his mistake and let lavellan live.. maybe as immortal as he is. He loves her and does not want anything bad happening to her or include her in his mistake. Because he is so uncertain and knows that lavellan has fell in love with someone else and not the actual dread wolf because he never told her who he was.. he just.. lied his way I mean his never acted just.. did not tell her his true self so basically.. lavellan is in love with SOLAS not in love with dread wolf because she does not know the whole truth.. he did not want her to fall in love more deep and find out later and get more hurt. His goals might get him and lavellan both killed.. yet (if you drank from the well) after he takes mythal's powers he probably has to use you and seek your help.. it is pretty obivious. He probably does not want to but he knows he has to because his orb got destroyed and you are now the only one who has partially the power of the orb. I think he might take the power from you to himself somehow to undo what he has done.. to achieve his goals.. in the process you will not die because as a mortal having a such power I would imagine it to be almost impossible. And this is the reason I think it may or may not end tragically. Honestly... if he will die in the process of fixing a mistake he did.. I do not mind as long as the story won't be done as Thane's story. If it is tragic story.. yes my heart will be broken. The story will be still special and if it is well done I will still be.. some way happy yet sad about it.. but no matter how their story ends..  I hope Bioware will do good job this time.. no matter if it will be tragic or not.. maybe they could do it like in mass effect that it depends? Or like that you can try both? I don't know.. but yeah.. these are things I am currently wondering.. please all give me your opinions ( I am not saying things will be like this just guessing some possibilities and how I think it could actually be. Sorry about my English I am from Finland and English is not my native language so I know I have multiple issues there.. I apologize)

I could see that...  But if Solas survives long enough (and nothing worse than death has happened to him) for Morrigan to be a concern, I'll be happy enough.  I have a sinking feeling tho.

I don't quite think it works like that. I think passing the "godhood" to Morrigan would have negated any possible sway that having Mythal's energy might give to Solas.

And since Mythal apparently foresaw this situation, I don't think Flemeth would have let Solas take anything from her that would possibly give control over Morrigan.

she took the god sould from morrigan's son in my gameplay. it might be that solas has to give the godhood to morrigan.. THOUGH morrigan says that when she asked flemeth if that was her purpose she said that she misunderstood. So I believe that that might not have been her actual purpose but Morrigan understood everything wrong.

Late post, but__

giphy.gif

ENFP here as well. ;)

Hmmm...maybe that gif isn't quite appropriate (me thinks poor Edward might be a tad more introverted. Hmmmm)

This work?

This is late, but I actually love the fact that you posted Edward, because even though he is introverted, I cosplayed him at DragonCon last year and he's from my favorite movie. 8D

Idk, Flemeth is obviously not the original Mythal and yet she could control Morrigan. If there was anyway Flemeth could have prevented that from happening, without rendering the whole thing moot, I'm sure she would have done it. However, it's also possible she trusts Solas and his thing against controlling people to keep him from forcing her to do anything awful.
