If you mean the scene in the Fade then that doesn't exist without Kieran.

I meant the one you get instead when there is no old god baby.

The joke chart was....a joke.

And mostly true, regardless of what this thread did before- it's what it does now. People are very sensitive to things and so everybody tiptoes around everyone else hoping they haven't offended anyone.

:)

I still would like to use the chart as a reference. Yelling "Hey! You can't complain about the tinfoil theories! We have to go through the smut stage first and THEN complain!"

Nah, she's just sketchy around details and avoids telling the whole truth, like someone we all know. And, like she said, she just wants to preserve what once was. I picture her romantic like that, yeah. Morrigan is well-versed in elven lore, it's not her fault, the lore itself is glitchy.

But because of her survival instincts, harsh childhood experience and overall psychological trauma she wants her mother dead. Oh well. And, in my opinion, old habits die hard, she won't change her mind, even after plot-twist-dances and astonishings revelations.

But why would she not tell the truth to someone who is the only one able to seal the breach to prevent the end of the world never happening. Why not even MENTION about it? Why not discuss earlier.. does not make any sense to me. Also she really wants the power idk for what but why else would she be so mad at you taking the power.

Exactly! And then those people still stuck in the argument phase we can be like "Listen...you're spending too much time in this stage. It's time for apologies and blanket forts, okay? FOLLOW THE LAWS OF THE THREAD."

Maybe we need allotted time for each stage.

By the way, did anyone wonder why Solas took Lavellan to that exact location in the 3rd romance scene?

I believe it's a combination of the thinned veil as well as the location's importance.

If the location was a base camp of sorts, or a place of importance (during the time when he imprisoned the gods) many years ago, Solas could've just shown her the memories and make her believe he is Fen'Harel....

Mmm..

Mmm..

To lull people that came from a Cullen game into a false sense of security. 'Oh look.  They're going to finally have sex. Outside. Cute'

In all seriousness - it was probably because of the "veil", the beauty of the location, the peace.  Made the whole scene look more romantic from a directing perspective.  There are a million reasons.  We may actually never know.

The thing about Morrigan though was that you knew why she left.   Also if you gave into her idea about the OGB then she left on considerably better terms than if you didn't.   You were also able to vow to hunt her down (having only grudgingly given consent) or wish her well (because she just saved my boyfriend for me - because I always guessed he would take the dive for me).   What was also good was when discussing my Warden with Morrigan, who didn't agree to the OGB (Loghain took the fall), she mentioned how they hadn't parted on the best of terms which she regretted.    Now I assume she probably says that about every Warden who didn't agree whether they parted on good terms or not (though I suppose it could vary if the Warden did hunt her down and stabbed her), but my Warden certainly bore her no ill will, simply hadn't agreed with her plan, so I was happy she acknowledged she could have dealt with that better.

The Vallaslin thing feels a lot less romantic to me since PW revealed that Solas only does it to cover his A** because he got cold feet about revealing the truth and came up with the Vallaslin on the fly.    I just find it a bit hard now thinking that my male Lavellan is going to be spending the rest of his days with "I'm a slave" written across his forehead.    I've yet to play through the game with him but if Cory does mention it, then naturally he is going to wonder about the fact that Solas had no Vallaslin, yet is clearly not a city elf, and whether he knew.      Anyway, leaving that aside, he'll likely be looking to Solas as a sort of mentor/friend who he respects and thinks Solas respects him and then suddenly he's gone.     The odd thing is at the beginning you can say to him, what about when all this is over and his answer is that he hopes that people, like Cassandra, will remember who helped, which sort of implies that he'll stick around.

Solas is a much more important character than Morrigan though. Him leaving, that end credit scene. It's building up to something big for the story. There is no alternative either. Unlike with Morrigan, she could just leave as a she arrived. Empty handed. I didn't really care if I ever saw her again. Her OGB turned out to be a non-event as well, so meh. Her ending didn't need a huge impact like this one did (at least it did for me. Dayum Solas).

But I have to disagree with this idea that you get nothing out of Solas, you can say goodbye to him and thank him, prior to the battle. He does drop hints that it is the end. Afterwards, just like with Morrigan, you can talk about why he left with Leliana. Your Inquisitor doesn't really understand it, but they at least acknowledge that the orb is involved and Leliana sets up the whole mystery with her mention of where Solas's claimed he was from and how he may be impossible to find. It's sort of the same set up of going to find Morrigan, who also didn't want to be found.

And Morrigan says the same thing about all my Dark Ritual Wardens. Though what she says in DAI doesn't count right now because DAI is a whole other game of Morrigan content, whereas it's the only game of Solas content so of course it's going to seem like She and the Warden have much more going for them in comparison. There's two whole games and a DLC worth of Morrigan time.

As for intending to stick around? He may have, had the orb not broken. He messed up, big time. Now he alone has to fix it. He's not the only one. Dorian, he wants to go back and fix Tevinter, alone. Cass wants to go off and rebuild the Seekers, Varric back to Kirkwall to rebuild, IB to go find bigger fights, many of your companions have things they want to leave and do. All of whom will. They just stick around for a bit longer than Solas because there isn't that immediate 'HO CRAP' panic. He is distraught. He runs away and well, spirit absorbtion happens. Where we go from here, I'll leave that to my wonderful theoriests here. But I can't imagine it'll go without some input from the Inquisitor. And maybe, if the devs see how popular this character is, they will pull an ME3 Garrus and really bring in the bromance for non-romancers. That'd be awesome.

and BY THE MAKER YOU GUYS. How many posts did you make while I was writing this incoherent waffle?!

I dunno... this means something, but what? WHAT?!

I've only just started my second playthrough where I want to take notes and then I need to play DAO and DA2 again because I remember only the bare bones. So at my rate, I'll have a theory when DA4 comes out. Maybe.

EDIT: See, I forgot already, maybe the whole Anubis theme does work. I'm not sure, I must investigate that at some point... I'm not sure yet which of the crazy theories I believe.

The Par Vollen pyramids give me much more of a Mesoamerican vibe than an Egyptian one. They're set up in a jungle, and are not giant tombs for proclaimed god-kings. Probably a center of religion, government. Possible parallels with sacrifice and blood magic? What Theodosian civilization is complete without it? :P It's interesting that while most humans left Par Vollen as 'barbarians', some remained in Par Vollen and prospered. Just how old are the pyramids?

And how do the damn Fex fit into all of this?!

There are no regrets in the tinfoil stage! The Puppy was asking for it because it did not convert to the Qun!

Um... because reasons?

No, really, this woman just doesn't trust anyone. And she's convinced Quizzie is not capable of dealing with the Well's power, since she lacks knowlege.

Do not weep for the puppy. The qunari do not waste. It will live it's day with purpose as a miner or beast of burden. The Tamassrans did their best to choose a path and the puppy did not excel as it should.

LOL!  I just remembered it's set to private!  I had it that way because of a string of creepers.  Not the good kind, either  ;)

But unlike them Solas leaves, immediately :<

Everybody stayed post game for me, Dorian didn't want to leave his bestandonly friend, Cole wanted to help, Varric stays for a while, Iron Bull feels like he can find big fights with me, so he stays etc etc. Solas leaving is what cranked up the heartbroken meter even in my first PT (female dwarf Quizzy) </3.
