Is there a medieval history club I can join? College was....awhile ago, for me, (I'm 33) but I did study history.

Also, who to take to Adamant?

Autocorrect makes me look stupid.

I love Sera's reaction to the Fade.  I am mean, I know.  I felt really bad the one time I took Cole :(.  If you take Cole I would say bring Solas as well.

I really wish Varric interacted more with Hawke.  First time I played the game, I thought "oh I HAVE to bring Varric. There's no way he and Hawke can be together and not have stuff to say."  Yeah ...

What's Team Mordin? Is this a secret theory club?

Ugh don't even get me started on how many myths have to be taken with a grain of salt because of influence from other nations and being changed to match up to other gods and Baldur possibly being influenced by Jesus a bit too much and just ugh.

I want to know all the original myths. :( I'd like some solid information on ancient Slavic paganism. Is that too much to ask?

EDIT
TEAM MORDIN:

In ME2, Professor Mordin Solus discusses working on a top secret science project with many of the brightest minds of the Salarian Union, from biology experts such as himself to historians, social experts, psychologists, mathematicians, military, etcetera.

I believe I accidentally started the Team Mordin thing when I wanna say Oxcidants used her science background to start theorizing about how the elf-human crossbreeds could work?

We've got people with history, physics, biology, art, literature, and mythology backgrounds working together to theory-craft, basically.

And Mordin's comments about the general mania of his workplace matches up with this thread pretty well.

I should have clarified. I never don't take Solas.

Should I do his personal quest before or after?

I think we all never not take Solas.

I in all honesty don't know, I don't really think it matters. Besides the power you need to spend to open up the mission or the area for Solas' quest.

All in all I think it's all the same.

Cassandra would a nice choice because dialogue and a certain person. Solas goes all Miss Frizzle. Team NOOO D:, which is Cole, Iron Bull, and Sera is supposed to have hilarious dialogue. I don't know that anyone else is particularly noteworthy, but it could be interesting to take Vivienne or Dorian. I took Cassandra, Varric, Cole, and Solas, but not anyone else so far.

All of this... don't bring Cole without Solas... it just helps a lot. Bring Sera if you want to lol at her :) Dorian is sort of funny too, but he doesn't freak out or anything.

Depends on how you pace the story/romance. Do his personal quest in between Adamant and Wicked Hearts, which makes that cooling off period he has tie in well with all the emotions stirred up in Adamant. Alternately, you could do his personal quest first and have it tie into corrupting spirits and terrible mage people that way.

Oh! Well that explains why I wasn't invited to Team Mordin. Best and brightest minds only.

YOU'RE INVITED, EVERYONE IS INVITED. D:

Haha its just a joke. I only have the one theory anyway abut dwarves and the fade and how the veil is what keeps the Dwarves from their magic and how the forgotten ones are the dwarven gods lol.

The rest of you are like.....deep.

I adore Varric, but I don't get that at all. Not that i think there's anything wrong with you for it, but I don't see what a lot of people apparently see in him.

SERIOUSLY. The whole game I kept seeing parallels between Mithraism v. Christianity and Elven Pantheon v. Old Gods.

For those of you who want a quick history/ religion/ mythology lesson, decent link explaining Mithraism here

I picture Thedas's analogue to Mithraism as an old school Tevinter worship of the Maker that spreads throughout the soldiers and magisters fighting the First Blight, but lacks organizational structure. Naturally, if your god was corrupted and trying to destroy the world, you'd reach back farther in your history. It gradually died out, mostly because all the magisters with the fun secret rituals kept dying to darkspawn or the Taint. When the Orlesian Chantry took root, it made sure to stamp out this Tevinter influenced, non-Andrastian Maker worship, along with all the other fun little cults.

My favorite thing about early Christian history is the Roman struggle with Arianism.

Barbarian horde arrives, a priest suggests converting them. The generals snort and prepare their armies.

To their astonishment, the barbarians take to Christianity like a duck to water.

They celebrate.

Someone casually mentions Arianism within a hundred miles of the barbarian horde.

They convert to Arianism.

Cue war.

He's funny, charming, and has a amazing reaction realistic to what is happening around him? I think he'd make a interesting LI, but he has makes a great companion because He becomes a reliable friend for your Inq/Hawke.

Wasn't sure how to reply to that without sounding snobbish. Solas is a wonderful LI And correlates to the Story, but I think Varric is the type of guy you'd want to marry or something. This sounds so strange.

I kinda miss the days when we were allowed the option to engage in the occasional threesome.

Iron Bull sleeps with the chantry sister in Haven, has a threesome with two serving girls at Skyhold, and possibly hooks up with Dorian and/or the Inquisitor... which means that in a single playthrough he has more sex and romantic partner options than the Inquisitor, if you stop and think about it?!
