Just want you guys to know if you want this bald nerd's art on your wall (like I did) XD
I hate to be a picky a-hole but when she attempts realism, it gets into uncanny valley. Maybe it's her blending that makes it seem like there is a lack of texture?

Yeah you can "adopt" dragon dilds. I know of these things. I know of all those things.

I've been to places deeper than you know. If you like, I can demonstrate a product that would blow your mind.
I never watched sherlock so the most I've seen of him is as a CGI dragon. Since this is a bioware forum and it is reasonable to believe that I played dragon age which includes varric. So it's like asking why I don't have the same crush as the person next to me.
When Solas finally get's Lavallen's p*ssy after a 2000 year nap and dry spell.

PFFTT.
I love Varric, but I would have preferred him with Hawke. Now that we're in Inquisition, I am too busy shipping him with Cassandra. /fingertent
I can definitely get behind shipping him and Cass. /rolls off

... That's a really good question.
I don't think they would, but not because I wuvs Solas and want him all to myself.
Solas mentions that one specific thing he loves about Lavellan is that she shows wisdom, a subtly in her actions, and that few show an understanding of the world around them.
I love Merrill, and she can be surprisingly insightful... but she's not that wise, and doesn't show that much understanding the consequences to her actions, or understanding of the world around her. I mean, what? She wanders around Lowtown at night, and when Varric tells her she shouldn't because it's dangerous, she blithely says, "Oh, no one's attacked me yet!" "I know, and it's costing me a fortune." He even gives her string so she won't get lost. When she first visits the Alienage, she excitedly mentions that people here greet newcomers by beating them up and taking their money, but sadly no one around here likes her enough to give her that greeting. Hawke can potentially say, "You saw a man get mugged, and your first thought was that it was an initiation?" If Merrill moves in with Hawke in Hightown, she goes around walking into the nobles' gardens, picking their flowers, blissfully unaware that the guards are glaring at her for trespassing. When Sebastian laments losing his home in Starkhaven, she innocently asks why doesn't he just call the guards?
I think you're taking Merrill's some of comments a bit too seriously, including her dialogue with Hawke about life in the Alienage. As she says when she returns to Clan Sabrae:
Ilen: Ah, Merrill… you've returned. How has your time been amongst the shemlen?
Merrill: It's been nothing but roses and rainbows, Master Ilen. The Alienage is lovely in the spring. The collapsing shacks and drunken brutes are nicely offset by the knee-deep mud.
This clearly isn't someone who is blissfully unaware about how bad things are in the Alienage. Merrill defects quite a bit with her dry humor. However, she has quite a few moments where she gets very serious, such as if Hawke talks negatively about Pol, and she firmly puts Hawke in his place.
Also, I've noticed that Solas values humility and self-reflection. If he expresses worry or doubt about what the Inquisitor is done, if you stubbornly defend your choice with words to the effect of, "I know what I'm doing!" or "It's too late to turn back now," he won't like it. I like Merrill, but I've noticed she doesn't do that much self-reflection. Worse, any time someone tries to talk her out of doing something (not just into giving up on the Eluvian), she stubbornly defends her choice and refuses to change her stance. Like, again, Varric trying to talk her out of wandering around Lowtown at night. Or obsessively working on the mirror to the point that she forgets to eat and sleep; and needs Varric to deliver food to her, and get Hawke to get her to leave her house every once in a while (if she hasn't moved in).
I think Merrill reflected on her choices, but unlike Solas and Lavellan discussing elven issues as two members of the Elvhen who actually understand what the People have lost, Merrill is pretty much the sole Dalish elf surrounded by Andrastians who never really understand the plight the Dalish face, or why Merrill is so driven to help improve things for her people. I think the context of her conversations would be quite different if she was speaking with someone who she could have some genuine dialogue with - rather than people who think they know better than Merrill.
Heck, even just her belief in her Dalish dogma. I can imagine Merrill earning disapproval for statements like, "Your 'Maker' is just a story you humans use to explain the world. We have our own stories. I don't need to borrow yours." Or "Anders... there's no such thing as a good spirit. There never was. They are all dangerous. I understood that. I'm sorry that you didn't." While Solas admires free-thinking, I think declarative statements like, "This is what I think and I won't change my mind" don't sit well with him because he likes to be open to new ideas.
If I had some Andrastian annoying trying to push his religion on me and telling me that I was wrong about what I believed in because the Chantry of Andraste preached something different, I wouldn't acquiesce to it, either. Let's also consider for a moment that the Dalish live on a continent where the Chantry outlawed their religion, and that Andrastians are a constant threat to the Dalish. My Lavellan didn't appreciate it when Cassandra tried to suggest that he should follow the Maker, so I understood where Merrill was coming from.
When Cassandra tries to nudge him toward the Maker, he admits that he likes the idea of a benevolent god who does not feel the need to prove himself.
Which is honestly a ridiculous statement to make about a god who cursed the world with the Blight because of the actions of five humans, or about a god who is part of a religion that claims that the Maker will only return once everyone in the world worships him.
While I think Solas might like Merrill, or at least admire her conviction, passion and open mind about certain subjects, I can't really see him loving her romantically the way he does Lavellan.
And I'm not just saying that because I like Solas. I really put a lot of critical thought into this.
That's possibly true, and I think that perhaps Solas and Lavellan click in a way that he simply won't with any other woman on Thedas, even if I don't agree with your particular reasons for coming to that conclusion.
Soooo, running around redcliff talking to people I just heard a quote from Solas I have never heard before (probably because I never ran around with Vivianne in the party). He said "Sometimes to achieve the world one desires, regrettable measures must be taken". Trying hard not so slide into pessimism... but man that makes me feel like he's going to do something catastrophically bad ><
I think you could take the same view about some of the actions taken by the Warden, the Champion, and even the Inquisitor. I think Solas has his heart in the right place, and it's one of the reasons why it was easy to befriend him, even though my Lavellan strongly disagreed with him about his views on the Dalish and city elves (until he apologized and changed his mind). Maybe the actions Solas will take are necessary? If it ends up helping the People like Solas said, perhaps he'll end up being a hero of the Elvhen?
Honestly, if I had a choice between opposing Solas and trusting him, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

We said a lot on this thread about how we wish that Lavellan can either convince Solas that his plan is bad or that we would go with his plans. Wouldn't it be wonderful if one of the options is to come up with a plan Together? That would be some nice teamwork. I want to see that happen.
