Not like you guys would care. But i got a few asks on tumblr about what I think Solas' D looks like.
Most people would ignore this type of question. But me being a bastion of truth dug deep to find the answer.
So I mean... if you want to know... you know where to look.

The writers let you decide your own canon for that. So I say yes.
It's obvious that if Lavellan initiated sex in even the slightest of ways, he would not be able to stop himself until he was done.

*head exploding* It's impossible to keep up with you guys... I'd really love it if there was a page-by-page summary or something
buuut that would be a whole lot of work for anyone who did that, I know. I always miss the theory crafting rush hours!
Anyway, I just grabbed one quote out for now:
About intertextuality and such. The Dragon Age series and Dune by Frank Herbert does have a lot in common. The Chantry is the Bene Gesserit, Inky is Muad'Dib and dragons are sandworms (oooh dragons are fade links to enable magic *slaps own face and sternly tells self to leave theory alone*). On top of the Dune correlations we have establised a plausible link to Miltons Paradise Lost.
*snip*
As a philologist, I like the reference, I like the comparisons in general as well, keeping in mind that these elements appear in many works. I won't go into a tangent of my own, I just want to promote a bit of expansion when delving into theories based on such works, as sometimes it is less the specific lore of a world that is relevant and more the general theme, or archetype if you will, that is present in genre fiction as a whole. I greatly appreciate seeing such literary references, yet I can't help but list a dozen other parallels that I've connected to multiple worlds, which drives me to be as objective as possible, thus the relevance of "expansion." Not to say that any of my connections are particularly striking in and of themselves, but that's my point here - I think it's best to view these within its own context, yet with added substance drawn from all of these sources simultaneously to construct a more complete picture of what's at the heart of DA (or Bioware's stories in general, they have impressed me in this) as long as we always keep in mind that going in these more concrete directions can lead to the happy insanity of infinite connections in infinite combinations that ultimately lead us in rhetorical circles.
Aaand I realize that was probably the most oblique way I could have phrased this possible, so I'll just go back to the lurk corner now. ![]()
The Par Vollen pyramids give me much more of a Mesoamerican vibe than an Egyptian one. They're set up in a jungle, and are not giant tombs for proclaimed god-kings. Probably a center of religion, government. Possible parallels with sacrifice and blood magic? What Theodosian civilization is complete without it?
It's interesting that while most humans left Par Vollen as 'barbarians', some remained in Par Vollen and prospered. Just how old are the pyramids?
And how do the damn Fex fit into all of this?!
*blinks* Whoa, I hadn't considered that angle at all.
You're right. Totally different vibe, and the potential for sacrifice-as-worship would be really interesting. Humans practicing blood magic way before Tevinter ever caught wind of it. I'd be screwed for theory background, though. Aside from Quetzalcoatl and Huitzilopochtli, I'm clueless about early mesoamerican mythology. Would be a much weaker connection to Falon'Din, for certain. Maybe still viable as Dirthamen domain.
And yeah, what's with the Fex?! Sounds like they were integrated peacefully, so shouldn't they be chilling with modern-day Qunari?
*paces in circles, gives up, lies down to wait for DLC*

Not sure if everyone has seen this already. I just found this fanart of younger Solas recently and I wanted to share it because he's just so hot here , I nearly died on the spot. (and still dying XD)
Unf!

YOUR DRUNK LET'S PLAY WAS AWESOME AND ADORABLE XD
I would LOVE to join the convo, alas, work's death cry beckons from the near future. 8[ Good night, y'all. ![]()

(Also, does anyone else notice that in his story, he meditates in a desert and that's when he first gains the idea for the Qun... which makes me wonder if he might have actually been dreaming and been influenced by dreamers and/or the denizens of the Fade?)
Yep, pretty sure that's the inference. Setting up a parallel with the Seekers' vigil gives us a way to explain how he might have been influenced by fade entities without forcing Koslun to be a mage. I'm on board. ^w^
