This is the point at which I had to shut off my PC and call my best friend in all the tears.  She romanced Cullen and Solas was basically "that weird bald houseplant" in her playthrough, and she's had to put up with all my wild fangirl mood swings.  And her Fade decision was between Stroud and Hawke.  Clearly I'm just bad at playing Dragon Age  <_<

My experience was much the same as yours. It was between Loghain and Hawke and I'm another of those people deeply invested in the old teryn, haha. Cannot seem to let him go, especially after The Stolen Throne. It hurt way more than I expected and I unfortunately had to wait in agony until my friend caught up. :,) And of course, not long after, the Solas break-up occurred, then the reveal. So if it were not for the happy state of my Warden with his Zevran, my world state would have to be renamed Oh Creators Ouch, haha.

Only Hawke I would sacrifice is my Andraste-boot-lickin warrior hawke who romanced Sebastian.

Love hate relationship with that pacifist. /shakes fist

That is exactly what I did, haha. It still hurt, but I feel like Sebastian could handle losing Hawke better than Fenris for some reason.

Probably because Fenris isn't the type to open up to people. 7 years in Kirkwall and all he does is drink all day. If he's not drinking all day, he's partially drinking while playing cards with Varric.

edit: now that I think about it. Where is this massive wine cellar that has years worth of vintage?

Now you guys are making me want to go back to DA2 and try to continue my Sebastianmancing Hawke who never got out of Act 1. xD

Or I could just use the Keep and load a world state with a Hawke in a romance with Sebastian. For science.  B)

I actually really liked the Dynamic of my Hawke/Sebastian since she pretty much agreed with his values and was Paladiny/holy.

But I'd rather sacrifice her over my Hawke who romanced Fenris or my Hawke who romanced Isabela.

Losing Hawke would send Fenris into a rage spiral that will take him years to work his way out of and he'd probably get himself killed long before that happened. Sebastian would grieve but losing Hawke wouldn't break him. All imo of course.

Now that we're talking about Fenris and dead Hawke.

I've seen absolutely no fan art or fan fiction regarding Hawke's possible LIs after Adamant. Not that I like to emotionally hurt myself, but... You know.

Any ideas?

To make this post on topic: I'm learning for a linguistic test and it's as boring as it gets. Now I started imagine Solas' voice reading this stuff to me. It's easier ^^

That's what I should name my world state.  My Warden romanced Warden!Alistair, and they're both off doing mysteriously ominous things that may very well kill one or the other.

WHY DOES IT HURT SO GOOD  :crying:

The Wicked quest is like a game of chess I can never win no matter how well I think I played.

It never goes the way I want.

This time I might say **** the elves (as I play my first elf) and have Celene murdered and put Gaspard on the throne.

I like him much better.

Gaspard was a lot of fun (though I didn't enjoy watching Celene die).

Plus, Gaspard ends up giving you the graduating class of chevaliers to help the Inquisition.

I thought the key to understanding the emergence of magic in humans and why elf-elf unions are the only ones that result in baby elves might lie in the role of the essentially elven fade-shadow in determining the nature of the offspring. This sounds plausible at first, but eventually hits a snag I can’t resolve.

From all accounts, once a human has been introduced to a generational line, both immortality and pointy ears are lost: the offspring from that point on are physically human and mortal forever. Further pairings can restore more shadow with each successive generation, but it’s an asymptotic curve. The line can breed with elves for thousands of generations, get to a point where the children have 99.999% of a fade shadow, but the conduit will never be whole and thus the offspring never elven. These offspring will probably, however, be damn good mages, because again- that’s what the fade half of magic draws from.

Notice how Tevinter is all over this. Kind of. I think they may have forgotten exactly how it works, if they ever really did figure it out, because I don’t see them rounding up female elf mage slaves for breeding purposes. They’ve got the right basic idea, though, and it’s produced some pretty dang powerful human mages.

I always thought this was an intentional allusion to the idea of royal bloodlines. Because if they can be traced back to the ancient somniari ruling class of the elven empire, that is essentially what this is. Considering elves are a slave class in Tevinter, I would bet the average magister wouldn't necessarily be privy. Tevinter maintains it's status quo by allowing the commoners to believe anyone might have magic in their bloodline, when in reality the more magic you have in your blood, the closer you are to the ruling class. The less magic, the closer to the peasant class. The modern ruling class in Tevinter may not be immortal, but through bloodlines they can maintain a dynasty of powerful mages.

WHY DOES IT HURT SO GOOD  :crying:

Sometimes I feel like Bioware is punishing us for keeping Alistair as a Grey Warden. xD

I mean if you kept him as a Grey Warden, he has a fifty-fifty chance of being left behind in the Fade and may or may not be dead. If you left Hawke behind, he goes off to Weisshaupt but because of what happens there, his current status is unknown.

I feel like I'm going to have a hard time keeping my Warden and Warden!Alistair's romance happy and intact.

Edited to add: I already killed off Hawke, so my Hawke and Anders romance is pretty much gone; and as for Solas and Lavellan, I don't even know if that will have a chance of having a happy ending so I'm pretty much relying (and praying) that Mahariel and Alistair's romance to at least be the happy one.

Please? I want at least one of my couples to be happy. :(

My Canon world state's name is: "Love is the death of duty".

Am I the only one that seeks tragedies in their canons?

Please source art. If you can't find the source, it's probably best you don't share it. It does the artists a huge disservice.

http://al-teya.tumbl...st/104952572290

Come on it is ridiculous to say that if I find the art on google and there is no source that I cannot even  share it. Even if you could not find my art because I am artist as well I mean the source I would not mind because I'd be happy if people would at least share it -.-

Stop always complaining about the source if the art is amazing.

But how would they know that you're the artist if they don't provide a source? There are artists that have completely stopped posting their art on the internet--and ones that have resorted to sticking a gigantic watermark all over their art--because their art kept getting reposted without any credit to them. Some people rely on commissions for their income or have a career in art, so giving them credit can be very important.

There are several ways to look for sources/find sourced art (number one--don't just look on Google Images), and we don't need every tiny bit of art to be posted in here. A little respect for the artists isn't uncalled for or unreasonable, IMO.

Fenris was making so much progress over the years, I think he'd be stronger than that.  Not that there wouldn't be rage, but I think he could move on.

(Don't mind me, I just need to believe this, so it won't be so soulcrushingly depressing.)

It is very easy to find the source of an image you find on google. Save the image, then upload it to a reverse image search. Usually the top result is the source.

Yes, it is very pretty. It was worth the constant reloading... though I might only play again starting with the first save that has the schematics. :?

I only posted them because I found just that as distracting as you do (and funny). ;)

I prefer the source be mentioned because if i post it on tumblr without the source people get mighty grumpy at me. Here is no big deal.

Just attempt to credit it. You may be ok without people crediting you but you're assuming others would be ok with it too if they didn't watermark it. It is a courtesy. It takes only a few minutes to try. What if people want to follow the person that created them? What if I wanted to see more?

Here's an chrome extension that I use: Image Search Options

or https://images.google.com/ and click camera to search by image via url or image from computer.

Sourcing on fan art is incredibly important because it directs the person back to the artist who has stuff on display they can actually sell(by law you can't actually sell fan art of licensed properties).  Generic love and kudos do not pay bills and do not help the artist get more exposure.  Artists do have the right to the acclaim for their work and possible payment that comes with it.   Noone is trying to be rude, but it is is a gentle reminder that artists are still people that have to actually function in society. Tumblr has a big problem of not properly crediting the artist - not just this fandom.   So if you can't find the source, I would just leave it or maybe shoot the poster a reminder they neglected to source it.   (I'm not trying to be mean, this is more of a general lesson. LOVE YOUR ARTISTS).
