Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought about it during this scene:

They're both as bad as each other, but to be honest, I'm fine sticking them in an somewhat slightly abusive relationship because Briala annoyed me with how she was so condescending to the Dalish Inquisitor and acted like they weren't doing anything for the Elves... when she herself only really gained power and prominence because she was sleeping with someone powerful.
She's like the Elven version of Vivienne.
OT (and late) but:
No offense, but that's the most ridiculous interpretation of Briala's character if I ever saw one. Even without reading the book (in which we are showed that she gains her influence also by her own merits and actually have a positive impact on the treatments of elves in Orlais), Solas aknowledges she is worthy of respect for standing up against an Empire that basically treats her kind like slaves whitout naming it such (slight oversimplification on my part, but you get the idea).
A valid criticism against Briala's action would be that she prolongs a Civil War by harming both sides to organize her rebellion, thus ultimately harming more people impacted by it.
Plus regarding Vivienne, I would say she didn't gain influence by only just sleeping with her duke.
So the comparison doesn't work and I don't agree that Vivienne got only where she is just by sleeping her way up to power, that's a gross oversimplification for me ![]()
