Reminds me of the whispers of that dwarf woman during the broodmother quest.

Oh! My apologies. It says:

Whispers Written in Red Lyrium

We are here

We have waited

We have slept

We are sundered

We are crippled

We are polluted

We endure

We wait

We have found the dreams again

We will awaken.

It definitely does sound like it could have to do with the elven gods, or whatever Fen'Harel trapped. Maybe.

I think recreating the wiki is a project worth keeping in mind, but maybe we should stick to the lore relevant to the theories at first?

It reminds me of the codex entry for the Profane from DA2:

We who are forgotten, remember,
We clawed at rock until our fingers bled,
We cried out for justice, but were unheard.
Our children wept in hunger,
And so we feasted upon the gods.
Here we wait, in aeons of silence.
We few, we profane.

Not sure if anyone's seen all the concept arts of Abelas, but there is one where he has lots of horns growing out of his head like a dragon. Or.. Qunari. He obviously looks nothing like this in the game, but I thought it was really interesting and could add a bit of legitimacy to the theory that Qunari/Kossith are dragon people that were created by elves/Ghilan'nain.

Spoiler for size.

Additional question: Is Uthenara a state of being that can be taught, or was it intrinsic to ancient elves and was later lost? Inquiring minds ought to know, especially if anyone plans fanfics of Abelas x Inquisitor where she somehow "rediscovers" or is taught how to access Uthenara and is therefore immortal.

You could do it as a google doc! That way we'd all have access

I'm reading through the wiki and what is already posted there.

http://virdirthan.wi...ir'dirthan_Wiki

I'm gathering, from reading the comments already on the wiki, that re-creating the wiki may be a project people find unnecessary, which is fine. I thought it would be a worthwhile pursuit since so many of us have frustrations with the organization of the current wiki, but my goal is not to take over leadership or force anything down anyone's throat.

In which case the only thing that would need done is to craft theories and post them. They can be categorized later.

I think I'll still do this. Even if we won't need them at the wiki, categorized codex entries could still be useful. I'll upload them as soon as I'll get at least some substantial part of the work done, and will update it as needed. Hope that'll help someone. ^_^

Edit: I wonder if it's better to upload it in parts. "Elves", "Humans", etc.

I really, really hate to do this, but before we jump in and commit wholesale, I'm going to take a second to see if there's not a better wiki option out there: one where we can dig around in the design guts and give admin rights to anyone we feel like giving them to.  The more I try to work with wikia, the more the ads, workflow, and general hideousness grate on me.

Oh, I always took that to mean it was written like on paper in red lyrium like it was ink. Which I guess technically would be red lyrium there. But I thought the question was more if like there was a chunk of it there like there is in some of the other areas. I don't recall that being there, and I'd think it would stick out like a sore thumb because of how red/green contrast. I could have misunderstood the question though.

I think a website of some kind would be easier, personally. Something with nesting options. There has to be something.

I'm pretty sure there are big chunks there.

No, go ahead. If the existing wiki is insufficient, copy the contents to the new wiki and organise them in a more suitable fashion.

And people should start copying their theories that already exist. To gather them quickly. The more theories are together in one spot, the simpler it might be to assign them to categories and build a hierarchy. I assume that many have already been forgotten, burried under a few hundred pages.

Nah, you actually click on a giant piece of lyrium to get that message. It might be etched into the stone, or maybe its just the whispers you hear when you go near it. Definitely a ton of lyrium there.

Very good point! I'll have to do some research on them. I don't remember them as well as I probably should.

If somebody has webspace at hand we could get some open source PHP wiki and set it up there. Though a free online tool is usually simpler (less overhead).

EDIT: Sorry, some of this is jumbled because of my anti-anxiety meds. They make me a bit loopy. XD

For the project: I still think it would be great to have a place for fan theories. An admin of that theory updates with new findings or voids it due to strong evidence to the contrary. Perhaps even a section that analyzes the Dragon Age tarot. We have the wiki already that gives us facts, we need a place where we can look up theories - shuffling through here and tumblr is time-consuming and disorganized.

BTW Found a Solas/Lavellen song:

*throws a pile of papers into the air dramatically*

AUGH.  Why doesn't anything simply do what we need it to do?   Something like Google docs might have its uses, but anyone who wanted to contribute would have to have an account, be invited to the group, etc, etc.  Same for pretty much any wiki.  Which yes, is good if we ever have to worry about random idiots passing through and deleting things wholesale for kicks, but until then is just an irritating speedbump to get everyone on the same page.

No time for custom software, though I'm damn tempted to whip up something simple in perl or java and just host it locally.  We need nesting.  We need cross-linking.  We need collaborative tools that allow people who have the same basic idea but differ on one or two tiny points to share a page, make their point, and not have 1000 separate versions of "Yes, Solas is Fen'Harel, but..." clogging up the system.

Ave, I'm kind of looking at you.  @w@  Does anything out there look more useful than wikia?

I wonder if it's Flemeth-y hair...

That was my first thought. Flemythal has her hair styled into horns, but the concept has them actually looking like horns. We should probably take with a grain of salt since it's unused concept only, but I'm still wondering if it would have been natural, or somehow a result of Abelas being bound to Mythal.
