It's probably old news to the Solasians here but it just occurred to me that the bone Solas is carrying around is a wolf's jaw bone. I wonder if that can be used to headcanon that the Inquisitor suspects that there's a connection to Fen'harel.

Everyone wants a piece of the bull.

The irony: a demon is probably the one thing Bull would not try once.

Anyone see someone mention how clever It was that the quest involving Mythal/the elven people is called What Pride Wrought? Solas = Pride.

Aww, Bioware, you dick.

almost typed duck.

Eh, enough if we didn't know solas' name meant pride, Pride plays a large part in Thedas religions. Pride is considered one of the biggest sins and for a good reason. Take a big fat example of tevinter imperium who was at the peak of their power to prove the existance of the old gods. I would say the same for the Elven empire but could just be crazy lyrium stuff.

Eehh.. It seems pretty common to adorn things with animal parts.

Morrigan wears raven feathers, and you can have a dog-skull staff. So, it's kind of a leap.

omg THAT'S what's around his neck! I thought it was some kind of baby elf shoe or something... XD

I had the whole 'Solas=Dread Wolf' thing spoiled for me, so by the end of the game I had to pretend that Lavellan had a dream about it. T_T

I only take comfort in the fact maybe the well-drinkage could help rummage up hints, but WHO KNOWS.. /pray for DLC

I imagined it was a sort of totem. Maybe the catalyst for his shapeshift form, if such a thing is even required.

Or he just wears it because a apart of him still does want to be recognized for who he is. It means nothing to everyone else, but to him, its a reminder.

SOMEONE ASKED. SOMEONE FINALLY ASKED. You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this well-prepared head-canon to be relevant on this thread.

evillaugh.gif

*cracks knuckles* My Lavellan was the 'flat-ear' of her clan, I figure she'd have to be since she's one of the few Dalish that doesn't know how to use a bow and arrow XD Lavellan's clan was fairly tolerant of humans, so as far as clans go her's was a bit more open-minded, but I think she was still treated like she's a bit crazy for being so 'not-Dalish'. Because of that, I didn't ever make her take herself seriously or feel that she's important throughout the first part of the game. If there's ever a 'confused', sarcastic, or 'ask someone else what they think' option, I usually took it.

Then, clan Lavellan basically got disbanded and destroyed by Bandits (WHY JOSEPHINE, WHHHY) and that made her sense of leadership even worse XD I chose more 'elf-related' options and had her kind of cling to her heritage. She went through a stage of being unsure and really sad all the time. As the game progressed though, knowing Solas and Sera made her treat herself more like a person and less like a 'Dalish who failed her people'. She still didn't like making decisions or acting like leader, but she was a little more self-aware.

It's funny though, the biggest change in my Lavellan character came towards the end of the game, and it wasn't even a choice type thing. It was more like I justified what happened in the cinematic event with dialogue that had happened before. After Morrigan took the well's power in 'What Pride Had Wrought', Solas asked what Lavellan intended to do with it. It was a really important conversation to me, because after I said that I would want my friends to guide me and such, he explained that although its a modest and noble ideal, good people need to take responsibility for power because if they don't the bad guys will ( or something along those lines?... man, I wish that I could find this conversation somewhere, because I'm really bad at explaining this type of thing and I make Solas sound so immature XD) Anyways, Lavellan really took that to heart. I feel that explains the whole 'grab the orb and seal the breach ultimately destroying the orb but saving the day' thing. She knew what had to be done, and instead of being scared of that power and making the wrong choice, she did what she had to do. Then of course Solas got upset and left, so... after that she just went crazy. The end. lol

...*ahem* so, yeah. I'll stop now. ^////^ ehehe...

If you apologize for destroying the Orb Solas says it's not your fault. He even gets a bit angry at you for thinking it was your fault.

Sorry this is off topic.  I found this shot again looking for the red lyrium one in my screenshots folder.  Forgot days ago to show it and ask what people thought.  I noticed this in the Fade, and I thought it looked a lot like Cory's prison in DA2 Legacy.

Does this look like the Vinmark prison to anyone else?

No. The inquisitor would not know more than before you saw the epilogue. As players, we could see all the events beyond the character's perspective. Significantly more so if you read the books. It's called Dramatic irony.

I don't know about Vinmark prison, but it reminds me a great deal of that painting Solas does of the fade (someone provided a screen shot earlier today) with what I expect is the black City in the middle.

Oh, Solas, claiming that you can't translate things. It's quite cute, really.

I was just about to shake my fist at him, but yeah, we could call it cute if you like :P

Ooh, someone touched that strange greenish crystals theme in the Hissing Wastes, finally!

By the by, has enyone noticed, that during templars questline, whent it's just you and Envy fighting in your mind, there is actually bloody red lyrium crystalls in the ceiling. I mean, seriously? It's Quizzie's mind!

P.S. missed you, guys. I will try to catch up with this thread, tho it's utterly hopless, as usual.

I can forgive Solas for not completely translating that. It could be that parts of the inscription just degraded. At least he translated the majority of it.

No excuse for not translating the codexes at the temple of Mythal though!

So, I sort of got thinking about the Temple of Mythal... We already know that Solas has been fairly adept translating "some" elven, but he doesn't volunteer any extra translation about the petitioners path inscription. Not to agree with Morrigan's translation, or even call her out on the fact she probably translated more than she is letting on, other than be really snotty towards her.

In fact, their reactions and name calling toward one another actually just make me think they both know more about the other than they ever let on to the Inquisitor.

I figured that out in game that it was some sort of dog jaw.  Like within 20 min. and I was like 'weird guy'.

I doubt the Inquisitor could make that connection unless she's like Sherlock Lavellan and making totally ridiculous leaps.  It's easier for us to put the pieces together because we the players know and then it's SOOOOO obvious.  In a 2nd runthrough of the romance I'm like 'omg solas, you are terrible at hiding who you are. good for you the inky is a bit dense.' thank god, vivienne is on the ball.
