I'm still very relieved to know Cass will get along with Solas and Cole.  I used to worry about that a bit.  I also love the sound of Team Mom Cass

On the team of Cass, Cole, and Solas I get the feeling that there's some kind of mutual understanding going on. In the case of Cassandra a lot of what drove her to become a Seeker was the death of her brother, with Cole the loss of his sister is at least a part of what turned him into whatever he is now. She's also familiar with having a fair bit of anger towards people she blames for what happened. Maybe she'll be a mentor to Cole or take him on as a squire or something?

With Solas, he's a Fade expert and Cole isn't a spirit or demon by any usual definition but he aspires to become the former. If the plan works it could be the first time anybody's gone from being something from one world to another.

I just know that if I'm going to bring Cass along with me and Cole that we're both just going to dote on him, A LOT (at least I'm going to ) And Solas will just sigh the whole time asking "are we there yet?" mockingly, ah.. just like a little family, that would be wonderful

My guess is team "Crushed expectations" are all people who sought out the person who survived the fade with ideas that they knew why they survived and had some amazing abilities and could save the world in like a day.

 

It did not work out that way.

 

I think this is a really good guess. 

 

Arrgh I need to know what Solas' deal is! Dorian's reveal only made it worse since the two of them were the ones I was most curious about and Solas is the only unknown left now.

I really hope the theories that Solas has some TME/ancient elven related ties are true. I'll be honest, if he turns out to just be a city elf apostate that ran off into the wilderness, I will be a little disappointed at this point. I mean, maybe if I knew early, but all the wait makes me hope it's something big. 

I'm really hoping this too,  I've not read the books so all I know is what I've picked up from the games and forums, but it sounds like a really interesting.  

 

I know it's different but one of my favorite dragon age moments is when Corypheyus wakes up and we learn he's one of the original magisters to tainted the world... Ancient mysteries are good.

But I am ashamed I have only just discovered this thread. It's awesome! I love all the fanart in here. It shall keep me entertained until Solas fimally gets some well-deserved spotlight.

Not the last yet, there's still scribbles, whom hasn't been revealed one bit, she may be an adviser but at least leliana and cullen have gotten confirmedXD He's the last of the companions, but not of every character (being confirmed puts him a step ahead of scribbles)

I think the "respectful moral and theological debate" was sarcasm. Cassandra likes to stab tables and books, and Solas is a hot pepper. They probably do not see eye to eye on the Chantry and Circle.

Okay, anyone else noticing something who's read Asunder and Masked Empire?

 

Not to spoil anything for you, but particularly Masked Empire.  The city elves greatly admire the Dalish.  Team Crushed Expectations could mean that Cole is disappointed because Sera won't talk to him, Sera is disappointed because Solas (who may be Dalish) isn't what she thought he'd be, and Solas is disappointed because Cole doesn't have many insights into spirits or the Fade.

 

Then Team Mutually Respectful Theological Debate could refer to Cassandra being a Chantry follower, whereas Solas believes in the ancient elven gods.  In that case, Cole would most likely be the catalyst of the conversation.

 

Alternatively, given that we know Solas lacks vallaslin, the theory that Solas is an ancient elf might pan out.  Even then, though, I think Sera would be expecting Solas to be Dalish, since why would he come out and say "I'm ancient and I woke up from uthenera back in Arlathan." But if she does know... well, that's even more crushed expectations if he's not what she expects of an ancient elf.

 

Just bear in mind that the general city elves think of the Dalish almost as demigods, or something.  At the very least they hold them in high esteem because they are FREE--and surely they are welcoming to other elves, etc.--they are everything elves should be.  But the reality is that the Dalish are isolationist, flawed, hung up on the past, and even arrogant.   And it's even worse if you're a City Elf and realize that the Dalish don't really care about your rebellion, and even that they might turn against you once you and your enemies sufficiently weaken one another... I am hoping Solas is not that kind of Dalish.  I really do hope he turns out to be ancient... because the implications that he would be the kind of Dalish who doesn't care about the plight of the city elves would be rather disappointing in regard to his character/personality...  Doubt I could stay a fan of him then.

 

Both the city elves and the Dalish have an unrealistically high expectation for what their ancients were like.  Should Solas turn out to be ancient, well.. is anyone at all going to be happy with him?  He won't be able to magically solve their problems.  He won't have stories of how wonderful everything was and how equal everyone was, because that wasn't how it was.  It would be horribly disappointing to someone who hopes for tales of glory.

 

It may also simply mean he is NOT invested in the elven rebellion, while I highly suspect she is.  But, when you pair it with Team Mutually Respectful Theological Debate, it makes me think he has different beliefs from Cassandra (and possibly Cole), which, since Solas is an elf, would lean him toward the ancient elven religion camp.  Either that or he's an atheist/agnostic (doesn't seem very likely to me, given the nature of Thedas and magic and all that jazz, but it's possible).

Well, apparently Canada is having a holiday Monday so it'll be at least Tuesday before we hear anything.  But let's not EXPECT to hear anything.  They've held off this long, they may not reveal any information for a while longer.  And no matter how much we may want more info, we aren't actually entitled to it.

 

Edit:  Not trying to be a downer.  Just saying don't get your hopes up too high.  I think we'll get a photo Tuesday, but if we don't I don't want everyone to be super-disappointed.

Wow, I just found the writers' pages on the DA wiki and now I'm really excited for the possibility of Sheryl Chee writing Solas   I've never been too aware of who wrote what but now I know she wrote my favorite origin (Circle Mage), one of favorite questlines (Broken Circle), and Leli, Sigrun and Wynne?   Add to that she's hilarious on Twitter and has a DEGREE IN PHILOSOPHY and... wow, um, pardon me while I fangirl over here for a bit

I don't think it's sarcasm, well not really. The other team nicknames all clearly show if the characters do not get along, but they are still jokes.

 

This trio might end-up more hilarious than the name suggest, but it's probably not because of jokes and stupid ideas (see Sera/IronBull).

The holiday is actually on Tuesday, so I'd think that would make the next reveal Wednesday (assuming there's nothing today - they've done weekend reveals before, no?).

Yeah, my husband has off Tuesday but not Monday (We live in Quebec) so I'm going to assume it's going to be either Wednesday or Thursday for the profile reveal at the earliest.

 

I hope they enjoy their extra day off though--they've all been working so hard. They definitely deserve it!

Good to know. Also do you know if any have been revealed on a Sunday? I vaguely remember Cole being revealed early in the week, but I'm curious as to when his screenshots were released.
