Because the internet. Everything has to be argued on the internet. I had this one guy on another forum I go to, that was obsessed with trying to get a rise out of me. We had one fight, one time over a misunderstanding. Neither of us came away from it looking all that good so I decided that I would forever go forth with the 'lol, whatevs' response to these things and move on, he would not move on. I later found out his wife had walked out on him and suddenly the reason why he kept singling out woman to fight with on the internet became abundantly clear. 

But yeah, some people just have to argue. They have to be right and the internet is where you really see that shine through. 

Personally, IDGAF what people want their Solas to be. I am asexual but I am not against RPing as characters who are like rampant rabbits. It's fun to not be me. I must admit though, I do have a hard time imagining anything all too sexual between my Lavellan and Solas, but that's my issue. If other people imagine them doing it 'daily, nightly and ever so rightly' then go forth and enjoy that smut. More power to you.  

 

Also, what's with the person who keeps making threads asking for Polygamy? I swear I keep seeing threads about it all weekend and it's from the same person. Its, odd.

I admit that I'm the type to try out every romance to make out with them, then break up with everyone before I found the one to go steady. Talk about karma because the one I picked was the one that will break up with you.

 

Yeah I have to say that I've only experienced one thing on tumblr with a person reblogging one of my post and making a comment about solas fans that had me face palming.  I haven't experienced anything in this thread with bashers I tend to shy away from reddit and slowly I may start backing away from tumblr again.

I-I like reddit. I like reddit alot. There's so many subreddit communities. And I like karma points. They downvote anything that is viewed as negative and leave the positive at the time. Mind you, it also places the most popular opinion too which may be conflicting. That usually becomes a problem in default subreddits.

 

edit: yeah screw tumblr! If people tagged correctly of their posts, it would be a dream. But that's too much to ask so I suck it up. I like the art and tutorials too much. 6 years going strong, if a little bitter.

Every time I disappear and come back I'm amazed at how many pages this thread generates.

 

Is it just me who thinks that the sex scenes add nothing more than a confirmation that they did the deed? (which could also be achieved with a fade to black which I don't mind but anyway) It always ends with me staring at the screen and going "Oh, that was kind of awkward..." I'd rather they did it like they did with Solas' romance so we can leave it up to our imaginations if they did it in the first place and who was dominant or submissive or neither.

 

I thought the sex scenes in Inquisition were pretty well done and a big improvement in terms of animation, expressiveness, etc. so far as I've seen. That said, I like that there's variety in how much the romances leave up to the imagination. 

 

In my personal headcanon nothing ever happened besides what we see in-game... somehow it seems more tragic, I guess, for it to have been this intense emotional meeting-of-minds kind of connection that never had a chance to become anything more. *sniff*

Yeah, I think a topless Solas could be worked in while still fitting the confines of "the little black dress" of romantic storytelling. You could easily pull either a post-balcony or post-Halamshiral scene of him kissing you on the forehead with warm rays of morning light streaming in, and as the camera zooms out, you see that he's shirtless, and we could hear him say that glorious wake up line again.

That's it. All you would need. Your mind would fill in the glorious blanks as to how they got there, the tactile or more sensory descriptions of the moment, while still maintaining the more sweethearted romantic side of their relationship. IT IS A WIN-WIN.

You know, all things considered, I'm surprised Solas doesn't get a LOT more hate. 

 

Really, there are many aspects of Solas that could make him very unlikable to the right eyes. If you didn't gain his favor in your first playthrough, I can imagine not being fond of him at all. Even if you did, he's heavily flawed, says some unfortunate things and can have quite the unpleasant attitude sometimes.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful. Reading constant bashing of your favorite character can get real tiring, real quick. I can imagine that's how Sera fans feel and I know that's how Anders fans feel. Not fun. I can only hope that's not the position Solas fans end up in after Solas does whatever he plans to do in a future game.

haha, I like that. Lavellan purposefully hid all the other healers so that no one can interrupt her Solas seducing.
