Perhaps the artists have some self-esteem issues and can't deal with drawing Solas as an artist that's better than them.
Oh, not you interesting and good artists in and posted in this thread. You're all delightful people of skill and excellent displays of color theory and anatomy study. Truly you are the kings and queens of foreshortening and we will speak for years of your 3/4ths face framing.
Edit: Huh, this would have been a weird post if I had to provide the top of the page Solas. Lucky me.
I did it anyway. Everyone enjoy your requisite dose of ol' scrapey-chin.

Ah, listening to the DA:I party banter compilation for inspiration and I had almost forgotten how pissed I get at Solas for his complete pr*ck-like-ness towards Dorian. He really is a total wang to him.
No real surprise he'd be wary of the slaveowning noble from a culture that spent the last millennium enslaving elves and doggedly eradicating every trace they could find of his civilization. Dorian's also charmingly oblivious to how his inquisitiveness will be taken.

So what are people's thoughts on DLC?
I've seen hopes for something similar to Witch Hunt, where the Inquisition goes off looking for Solas. It could happen, but what if BioWare wants to put off the Solas plotline until DA4? What would that mean for Solas? He's obviously gone at the end, so if DLC is released similarly to DA2, where it is its own separate story from the main plot and can be started at any time, that means that Solas would be unavailable as a party member to partake in said DLC. Unless of course people start a new game or have a save right before the final fight with Corypheus.
It's times like this that I'm really glad they didn't take Dorian away at the end. You all who like Solas the most and romanced him have my sympathies.

I hope they focus on story DLC, and, yes, it would be nice if they had some stuff focusing on Solas. Waiting another 2 or 3 years for another game is going to be a loooong time otherwise. I wouldn't mind some DLC that can be done at any time, though, like what DA2 did, but it would make it difficult with Solas not being selectable unless he becomes selectable just for the DLC...which would seem kind of strange.

Solas will most likely be playable for the majority of upcoming DLC. It'll likely be handled like ME2's- set in an ambiguous time period that could be either before or after the ending of the game. [Although if you play at the end, you wouldn't be able to select him.]
I'm hoping they'll do at least one post credit DLC, if not expand the story into an expansion or sequel game.

I think a good portion of us would delight in DLC, particularly if there should be a Witch Hunt-esque campaign for Solas. If I'm not wrong, weren't plans for DLC all to be post-game? So I believe that, unless they change their minds or the DLC deals with Solas, they won't be designed to have him interact in them as is. Though it's very possible I am wrong, haha. My memory is terrible.

That's what I'm thinking about. It wouldn't make sense for him to pop in just for the DLC, especially if the Inquisitor doesn't get to have an in depth conversation with him regarding why he left. Especially if the DLC doesn't really have anything to do with his plot specifically.

I like the banter where Dorian apologizes, and Solas' "Dorian! ...Hush." sounds so shocked. That banter was Solas being all "tough love" on Dorian. Like "look buddy, you're sorry? go make things right if you really are." I don't think they necessarily like each other much, but there's a certain respect.

I am...unsure of how it go. I assume the Inquisition story line will be somewhat wrapped in DLC - much like the other games. I swear I read somewhere that the intent with the DLC with this game was to A. Not add new characters B. It be set AFTER the epilogue. It's supposed to be a developing and ongoing world. So like any story DLC would wrap the direct events of Inquisition and set up the world for any new big game. I would of course prefer this since it would take less time. I imagine thought that any DLC with Solas in it - like anything that wraps up the romance - will be the very last one.

I work on the weekends, but I made time to make some Solas gifs and throw them at tumblr! I saw this quote from Holes and was inspired by it. 8D

hungry and lonely.
He cries to the moon,

Solas' absence in a post-ending DLC opens a space for a DLC-only character, like Talis in Mark of the Assassin. I don't see them bringing Solas back as a playable character unless the spirit of the wolf ditches him somehow.

Hmmm.... if that is true about DLC taking place after the main story is completed, then I don't see how they could include Solas at all unless the plot of the DLC deals directly with him. I would like that to be the case, but I just get the feeling that his story is going to be a lot bigger than what a DLC could provide. So my guess is that if we do get a Solas centric DLC, it would indeed be similar to Witch Hunt in that the ending will only tease us with more questions, and Solas disappears again for good (until DA4 where he plays a bigger role). Again you have my sympathies.

I remember seeing a DLC interview where the interviewee (Mike Laidlaw, I think?) stated that he'd like to add more content to the game with DLC, and I specifically remember him mentioning one of the things he'd like to add was more interaction with love interests. Not sure how that would work with Solas if it's not something like a Wolf Hunt type story, though.

I can't help but feel bad though. Dorian tries really hard to be friends. Yes, he can be clueless. Yes, he's a slave apologist. Yes it's clear that his respect/desire to be friends for Solas is partially borne out of the fact that Solas is clearly a powerful mage. YET, Dorian tries soooo hard and is so charming. I have a big soft spot for sincerity. What makes it worse is that if you pick any of the pro elf options, Solas AND Dorian always approve. Dorian is also really open to Cole - up front. No questions. Dorian just wants to be loved and Solas is just like "NO!".

More interactions with LIs? Sounds very good. That would also require Solas to be involved in some way.

I am hoping beyond hope(Eternal optimist here) that while it seems like Solas is a HUGE figure and has HUGE knowledge, that this is just seen from the lens of a history that turned him into a God.
Just finished Masked Empire and I believe it was Felessan implied that Briala might be seen as a God. Briala is someone who has a lot of knowledge sure, but big world changing knowledge that would preclude further interactions(probably not).
Anywhooo...just really hoping his involvement is something like that. Small in the scope of his time, revolutionary perhaps...only elevated to Godhood and game changing status over the course of thousands of years of telephone. In my head this could mean DLC for him is a distinct possibility.

I 100% think we'll see him for several games to come. When I say the story will be wrapped - it'll be like the direct events dealing with the Inquisition. I have a feeling DA4 would be dealing with a newer, better engine and they will not be making the game for for the 360 and PS3. Given that, I have a feeling at least the romance will be concluded in DLC. I HOPE SO.

If it's post-epilogue LI content, then I suppose they could have Solas and Lavellan meet in a Fade dream. Or, if they really want to torture everyone, reveal at the end that it's not Solas at all, but a spirit reflection of him.

I only drink socially, and I'll come home and get drunk now and then, otherwise I'm not a big drinker. I do enjoy the feeling of being drunk, and my aversion to touching completely disappears in that mindset - I cuddle, hang off people, all that fun stuff. But because my family has had drug, alcohol, and mental issues...I don't drink much.
I've always been introverted, had very few friends, preferred books and video games over the outdoors. Y'all were talking about personality types a bit ago, and I'm an INFP. I'm a lot more outgoing online. XD
Yeah...my parents are...interesting. XD

DLC - Gods , I hope they dont make us wait till DA4 to find out more about Solas and what happens. I would (and likely would nearly all if not all of the Solasmancers) be extremely sad and mad about not having some form of closure more than what we were left with. Also if they waited till DA4..I'd be afraid it would follow with the other DA's and be a brand new main character and all the history and things that happened with him would suck. Majorly. Well we might get a little blurb or mention of the Inquisitor..but that wouldnt be as satisfying as having the Inquisitor be the one to confront him/find out/etc after all they have been through with him.I made myself even sadder over him tonight when realizing exactly how much good and how he was probably the best thing to ever happen to the Inquisitor and would love for some interaction in a DLC for the Lavellan's to explain that to him. -.- glorious jerkface egghead. Also, hallo! First post and will commit myself to reading -all- the posts / pages on this thread...slowly but surely..as yeah..I have work tomorrow and I know if I started this late , I'd want to keep going till I finished my quest to read the thread.
