So what are people's thoughts on DLC?
 
I've seen hopes for something similar to Witch Hunt, where the Inquisition goes off looking for Solas. It could happen, but what if BioWare wants to put off the Solas plotline until DA4?  What would that mean for Solas? He's obviously gone at the end, so if DLC is released similarly to DA2, where it is its own separate story from the main plot and can be started at any time, that means that Solas would be unavailable as a party member to partake in said DLC. Unless of course people start a new game or have a save right before the final fight with Corypheus.  
 
It's times like this that I'm really glad they didn't take Dorian away at the end.  You all who like Solas the most and romanced him have my sympathies.

Hmmm.... if that is true about DLC taking place after the main story is completed, then I don't see how they could include Solas at all unless the plot of the DLC deals directly with him.

I believe that is exactly what most of us are hoping for. And I agree that his ultimate plan may be too big for DLC, but that doesn't mean it can't begin there and allow us a way to get him back on the team at the same time. There have been several plot theories in this thread already that are perfectly feasible to fit within the scope of a 8-10 hour add on.

Whether or not they will do it, however...? Who can say.

I can only speak for myself, but I will pretty much be uninterested in any DLC that doesn't get him back. The game feels empty and sad without him.

Okay so this one I absolutely love for the weirdest reason. I have noticed that in a lot of fan art for whatever reason, style of drawing, whatever his lips are always off to me, but this one they are perfect!

DLC - Gods , I hope they dont make us wait till DA4 to find out more about Solas and what happens. I would (and likely would nearly all if not all of the Solasmancers) be extremely sad and mad about not having some form of closure more than what we were left with.

 

Also if they waited till DA4..I'd be afraid it would follow with the other DA's and be a brand new main character and all the history and things that happened with him would suck. Majorly. Well we might get a little blurb or mention of the Inquisitor..but that wouldnt be as satisfying as having the Inquisitor be the one to confront him/find out/etc after all they have been through with him.

 

I made myself even sadder over him tonight when realizing exactly how much good and how he was probably the best thing to ever happen to the Inquisitor and would love for some interaction in a DLC for the Lavellan's to explain that to him. -.- glorious jerkface egghead.

 

Also, hallo! First post and will commit myself to reading -all- the posts / pages on this thread...slowly but surely..as yeah..I have work tomorrow and I know if I started this late , I'd want to keep going till I finished my quest to read the thread.

Also.... you want to read the whole thread!? That... will take a long time. I recommend you read the fantastic original post, and then just catch up on like, the last 100 pages or so (even that's pushing it). We tend to go around in circles anyway, so just jump in the conversation whenever!

Also... yes to a Wolf Hunt DLC. Barring that, I know they talked about DLCs that would expand on the world with new maps and stories and such (and there was an emphasis on them wanting to do more content for the existing romances and companions instead of adding new ones), so as long as I can play them pre- end game  (and preferably pre- Solas breakup) I'll be happy. Because it would royally suck to have to go on some long, involved quest without him and his nerdy comments on the things we discover. It'd be kind of unfair, too... Because we'd get all this new content for everyone but him.

More interactions with LIs?  Sounds very good. That would also require Solas to be involved in some way.

I tried to find the source, but Google is not being cooperative. I know I remember reading that it was something they'd like to add in the future, but now I can't find it!

I'm surprised someone actually recognized her! She is my favorite dragon ever, and I loved those games to pieces.

Hmm... that is odd. Maybe there would be an option to get him back then? I don't really get how that would work, narrative-wise, though, unless it was framed in some way to make it clear the DLC stuff happened before Cory's defeat (Like how DA2 did it, but that only worked because of the way that story was told)... since not everyone would necessarily save their saves beyond the last one or want to jump back into the middle of the game they already played just for a DLC. I mean, it'd be awesome if we got our Solas Hunt DLC first for simplicity's sake (especially if it means we get him back as a companion *happy pterodactyl screech*) but, I'm not holding my breath.

Isn't your avatar from Lunar 2? I loved those games, but it's been forever since I've played them. Might have to dig out the 'ol PS1 disks and give them a whirl at some point in the future.

Since we're talking about our ages, I turned 32 two weeks ago, though I still feel (and act) like I'm in my 20s. Being babyfaced does not help. Heck, people even think I'm in my 20s unless I tell them my real age.  It makes me happy to see people older than me still enjoying video games.

 

As for draw chat, I would love to join but it always happens when I'm asleep. Take note that I usually stay awake up to 4am just to hang out here. (I stayed up till 5am on my last post.)

I opened my post game save yesterday and found an amulet of power..restricted to solas. Sis says now my Lavellan has something to remember him by ._. Being optimistic I was like dont worry I'll hand it over when he comes back to her. I hope I am not wrong DX
