Has anyone translated what Corry says to him during the last fight? I sooo want to know what he has to say for himself.

What does Cory say to Solas during the last fight(in Elven, I assume)? I kill Cory way too quickly to hear that. :(

I'm too sad to hear :(. I just have "In another world..." echoing through my head at that point...

I've just gone through the Fade in my Nightmare playthrough, and I'd like to offer my own translation for the Fade demon, because why not:

(since "Ar lath ma" means "I love you", "ma/mar" refers to "you/your/yours" in my head)

Dirth ma, harellan. Ma banal enasalin. Mar solas ena mar din.

I speak to you, Trickster. You lost everything. Your pride will be your death.

(I'm not happy about the last phrase, but that's how I see it.)

Hm, I wonder...

Dirth ma, harellan - it may be "Tell me, Trickster", but your version works too.

Ma banal enasalin - my/you, victory, nothing. "Your victory was nothing"/"You've achieved nothing" - possibly referring to what he did in the past - he succeeded, but it ended in disaster, and he regrets it?

Mar solas ena mar din - I dunno what "mar" means, but as for others - pride, appear/emerge, isn't. "You don't appear to be proud [of what you've done]".

Just another possible interpetation.  :)

*coughs* I'm 19 in seven days, so you're definitely not the youngest...

I suddenly feel rather young.

*Materialises into existance*

Haha, I may or may not be even younger than that...

Maybe... *eyes dart around suspiciously*

*Fades into air*

Em... "will be the death of you"? Does it sound better?

I've been reading smutty Solas fanfics, and here's one that has no erotic scenes, but has mentions of smutty activities, i.e. Skyhold Kinkmeme:

http://dragonage-kin...36449#t49036449

I laughed a lot. Will add it to the fanworks list next time I update it!

Here's a good Solas one without smut, btw:

I've encountered another bug with the fresco, now that we're talking about it. Even though Celene was not assasinated in my PT, Solas drew it, like if she was

Ha! Didn't take him with you, so he had to see it in the Fade, experiencing one of the alternate realities, eh? ;-)

I always take him with me, like a good fangirl I am. Too much punch during this pt, perhaps?

The one about Wardens trying to get to the Old God underneath the Western Approach mentions 'what looks like a dwarven thaig', as well as lyrium pillars.

One of the distinguishing features of the Primeval Thaig was how lyrium was used in construction.

Would lyrium be used for pillars? That just sounds so strange, seeing how in modern times it is toxic, and it would be better used as decoration on a big stone pillar or something of the sort.  Could this have been a thaig similar to the Primeval One, just without the red stuff?

EDIT: Worth noting that the Abyssal Rift opened in the Second Blight and that's when the Western Approach was Blighted. So my money's on Zazikel as being the Old God buried there. Left behind some homies before heading up to wipe out Nordbotten.

Really interesting that the Archdemons seem to learn from their siblings' previous experience, and hold grudges. Nordbotten was the first battle the Grey Wardens fought in as an Order, and Zazikale organized the darkspawn better and made sure to wipe out the 'bastions of hope' in the Anderfels before the Wardens could muster a defense.

Whoa, those are interesting.  The only pseudo-explanation I can offer is that they might have been getting close to the actual heart of the Stone.  (The thrumming quakes and audible Song being its heartbeat.)  In that context, the thaig and the pillars of lyrium may not have been entirely inexplicable... perhaps shaped from the heart itself.

Really good point about the Archdemons' "learning curve".  That's something I can't explain, unless there's still a dream path open and Falon'Din is still able to... uh, steer them a bit.  Totally reaching there, though.

OH!  One more thing about the Qunari and the Egypt-or-Mesoamerica question.  It's not definitive by any stretch, but I noticed the overall pattern matches up pretty well if you flip the map....

Doesn't completely nix the idea of Fex = Maya/Aztec, but if the overall pattern of fade/game world = basic rules of reality but twisted, there's a good chance we'll be dealing with something more classically Egyptian.

Are you an ancient Elvhen God about to make a universe altering decision you might regret in two or three millenia? Have you recently murdered a good friend of your’s in an attempt to further said potentially terrible decision? Did you in the past month commit to being forever alone after one of the hottest make out scenes in video game history?

STOP NOW. Seriously, stop the eff now, and try a sip of Lavellan fermented fruit juice. You’ll be ready to hop on a boat to the nearest secluded island for eternity. We guarantee it.

Find this on my tumblr here.

This is literally The Best Thing.

Also love that the original source is a Kraken Rum bottle.

It... may be a bad thing that I instantly recognized the brand of alcohol based solely on bottle shape.

Ferelden is at least partially Scandinavian!   Depending on the tribe you're talking about, the art definitely ties in, with all the viking / wolf imagery, the Saga of Tyrrda Brightaxe, and all the other great Pantheon = Norse Gods stuff.

I imagine we'll get to Asia eventually.  America, I'm not so sure about.  Some problematic things there in terms of real-world history vs the overall theme and history of Thedas.  Maybe they can make it work?

I'm sure scandinavia is in one of the countries but to include another continent like the Americas or Asia is too far-fetched.

fantasy worlds usually take place on a single continent. That's where the setting is. Including another one makes things complex so it's preferred to describle them vaguely. Traveling in this modern age is easy, but back then all you have is carriage. The continent of Thedas is already very large. Just from the Dragon age origins, we have an idea of the distance between locations of ferelden. When talking to Dagna, she was surprised that you came back so quickly since it usually takes 2 weeks and a half to travel from the Ferelden Circle of Magi to Orzammar. Another example is in Dragon age Awakening where it takes at least a week from the warden's Vigil's Keep to Amaranthine.

I marked the distance here:

Spoiler

What I like about Thedas is that the fashions are inspired from completely different time periods hundreds of years apart. It's kind of amusing to me.

Now that I look at the map and Kirkwall's position on it, it really sounds unreasonable that Flemeth took Hawke and Co to Gwaren to take ship. That's such a distance, right? They could've sailed from Amaranthine, Highever, even from West Hill - those were still safe at the beginning of DAO, as I recall, though West Hill was overrun later.

Yes, it's a bit of a mish mash. Technology, fashion and general life has been taken from here and there. I know that magic can be used as a reason why they seem to have not progressed technology wise, but still, it's a bit of a stretch.

Magic itself is a bit of a stretch, no? So who needs reasons  B)
