Actually, it's WHY he blew up the chantry.Ser Pounce-a-lot was the first one killed. Drove him nuts and he, as usual, blamed the Chantry. ;-)

So he resorted to terrorism as a vendetta of a single cat? Condoning the rest of the cat population in kirkwall to be killed either from an official order, mob superstition, or desperate starvation of the sapient populous during the mage-templar conflict?

I really hope there's closure for the inquisitors who romanced Solas in future DLC - although if there's any possibility that the inquisitor can run off/disappear they would leave that for the very last story DLC they intend to release.

Also I really would like to continue to play the inquisitor in future games.  I know they seem rather set on having a new player character for each game but let's face it, the Inquisitor is the most powerful/influential PC they've had so far.  Far more than the HoF and definitely more than Hawke.  Especially since there's no real way for the Inquisitor to die at the end.  The HoF could die and if not they always disappeared at the end of DAO in the epilogue.  Hawke always disappeared at the end of DA2 even if they were Viscount.  But - for now at least - you still have the Inquisitor at the head of a large, country spanning organisation.

Given that there is no post-epilogue save that takes you to before the end events of the game (as there is with DAO, DA2 and even ME3) it leads me to believe that all DLC will most likely be post ending.

So I'm finally finished with my artwork of Solas and my Lavellan. I swear, Solas' wolf fur thing was such a hassle to finish than I imagined.

Hey, I studied Renaissance art for a semester, I know my frescoes... and of course! Any animosity Solas has toward Dorian is because he bothered him while he was working on his frescoes. Dorian was the Raphael harassing Michelangelo as the latter painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel!

And the frescoes are probably the closest thing Solas has to one of his plans going correctly. Everything else we know he's done has gone all "best laid plans of mice and men" and those frescoes are possibly even more than an artistic outlet him trying to assert control and lay out a plan that he can have succeed. It's a shame that even that goes back as he doesn't seem to finish them.

Sigh, and I was going to write an essay about those frescoes once I nailed down what Bioware's artistic inspiration for them was. I really don't want to get dragged into trying to write about those frescoes again.

I also took the fresco idea as another ancient ehlven "slow" thing; seems slow to shems but is normal to elves.

And it is gorgeous, like its artist.

Worst fight I ever had was two days ago: 2 giants and six brontos. AT THE SAME TIME. Because Solas can't keep his AoE in his staff like a good mage and not aggro every passive Thedosian bovine in the vicinity.

It's little things like this that make it hard for me to believe Solas and Lavellan never had sex. It's like he pretends to have his indomitable self control...except he loses control in battle (lighting his breeches on fire), getting tipsy at Halamshiral, at the mages who killed his spirit friend (don't blame him for being pissed, just saying), every time you touch him he can't help but kiss you...etcetera. I mean, my Lavellan wouldn't have kept her hands to herself for that long and I can't imagine he could help himself. And yet the story does seem to indicate they never actually got it on,though it is slightly open to interpretation. IMO

This is beautiful, but I want them to be togetherzzz. I am imagining that after he heard the story he went to Lavellan and was like "lolz, guess what I just heard."

Not only the final battle. I feel that all of DAI is easier than at least DAO (I did not think DA2 was actually difficult, only that the Cory fight was more dynamic because you had to change tactics a few times).
However, I also think that Cory was not meant to be most challenging (but his dragon... however you feel about that part of the fight).
Also I am very sure that Cory was bugged in that fight. Many times he simply stopped doing anything, hovered there and let me beat him up. I guess, that bug just had different manifestations (from him not doing much to being completely inactive).

I do miss the fights from DAO, where you actually had to figure out some tactics that worked on particular enemies. I feel that now the best you can get is the enemy using guard or being invunerable to a particular type of staff. And to make this feel difficult they don't allow you to change equipment once the enemy detected you. Both comes down to making the fights longer but not more difficult. I like the DAI gameplay, it's huge fun, but it is far too simple.

I would probably agree with you except that I still have such issues with what they've done to the PC combat system. They've made it sooo much harder to get your party to do what you want, I've spent entire battles screaming at them to just hold bloody still.

I was expecting/hoping for that ending too! I thought she was about to step into the cave at any moment now and they'd share a kiss like an old couple would do. Then, it broke my heart when they didn't! Cruel, cruel world!

Ferelden is at least partially Scandinavian!   Depending on the tribe you're talking about, the art definitely ties in, with all the viking / wolf imagery, the Saga of Tyrrda Brightaxe, and all the other great Pantheon = Norse Gods stuff.

I imagine we'll get to Asia eventually.  America, I'm not so sure about.  Some problematic things there in terms of real-world history vs the overall theme and history of Thedas.  Maybe they can make it work?

America could be like Arlathan (Atlantis).

The only reason I say this is because in the Warhammer universe, Ulthuan, where the high elves come from, is pretty much Atlantis, and exists where America should be on the map.

Weekes left it ambigous enough that the player can make up their own minds.  The 'grim and fatalistic' line makes me think that they did do the frick-frack snick-snak, as does Lavellan's very flirty reponse to Solas saying he wanted to show her how much he loved her.

OMG.  I got wolf friends for the first time, in Emprise du Lion. (The Token of the Packmaster thing)  Maybe they're glad Solas is no longer wearing raspberry too.
