It could be interesting if, like one of those theories, he was actually from Solas. Then he'd be like Anders with the place of birth name XD

All right, so... I see mention of jars of bees, and that it actually is an in-game thing. What's all that about?

It first popped up in a OXM preview:

"

  • There will be a jar of bees, which can be used as a combat item which according to Bioware: "You throw it, the jar breaks open, and little bees fly around stinging your opponents.""

It was confirmed by Bioware to be a real in-game thing

Dear Solas thread as a gentleman who inevitably will share a haircut with our lovely dreamer , i ask you do people still have issue with him being bold and think is unattractive ?
Ps: any of my past boyfriends never did mind me shaving my head, as part of adjusting to the inevitable future  :P

I like Solas just as he is and think he looks very attractive. I think those who had an issue found other threads to linger in and fortunately leave us in peace. I prefer the bald look to the Mohawk ponytail thing they were teasing us with in the art but that is just personal preference!

I'm sorry for your loss, Kirie and Roxy.  :(

Oh, October, why must you be so far away? I'm dying to learn about Solas' background. I don't know which of these theories I like the most.

Agreed about the naysayers leaving us in peace!

As for my opinion, I've had my doubts about his changing appearance and have expressed them here. But in all honesty, Solas could look like a foot and I'd still like him. His personality as revealed thus far and all of his possibilities (whether he be good guy or surprise bad guy) appeal to me in every way. I'm hooked!

^^^^ My condolences as well. It seems it's a rough time for quite a few people around the forums and I wish everyone the best and happiness in the future.

Hmmmm. Part 3 of the fanfic is running longer than I expected, but that's not a bad thing. It IS the final segment, after all, so everything left to get out has to happen now.

It just may not be post-able until tomorrow night. I apologize for that, but I can promise the wait will (hopefully) be worth it. :)

Also, as far as looks, I was not initially drawn to the baldness, that is for sure. I'm not really big on bald, although I DO find it incredibly well-carried and sexy for certain men (Patrick Stewart immediately springs to mind). But Solas's looks have grown on me, and they are a part of him and define him now, to a point that I LIKE his bald look and would not be certain I'd like to see hair on his head.

And add my voice to those echoing sympathy at the recent losses of Kirie and Roxy. I am far too intimately familiar with loss, and so my heart and empathy goes out to you both.

I was just thinking awhile ago Gaider did say we will be seeing the skyhold soon? Is that the castle or place the Inquisitor and Co will be staying at? And if so do you think we will be seeing all the companions there? Oh that would be Awesome......

EDIT: @ Dragonracer Thank you and GOD Bless you...plus I've ran out of likes...again. smh

Solas just wouldn't quite be Solas if he had hair. We love his gorgeous scalp.

Can't wait to see Part 3, DragonRacer.  My own inevitably cracky tale of Solas and the Inquisitor teaching Cole how to cook will also take some time... also a few cries of "What have I done?"

I find those are the best kinds of cries. They produce the most fascinating results.

Lily/Rynj/Dragon/Everyone - thank you guys so much *hugs* <3 I also ran out of likes--so easy to do in this thread!

A little late on the subject, but I think the only hair I would have been okay with is the one that was in the war table concept art.. but even then I vastly prefer him bald. I'm really glad they didn't change him too much for his proper reveal! (though I really hope that scar is still there, and hoping it's just the lighting)

I'm really looking forward to chatting with Solas in game. His character blurb and interview are quite provocative. The Fade is only a scary, dangerous place because we conceive of it as being such. Vivienne is going to hate him. All the more reason to pair them up - oh the delicious banter.

What would be perfect would be some new gameplay videos with the members that weren't introduced back at E3 :D Like our handsome bald elf. Hoping on Comic Con!!

EDIT; I don't know you all much so I felt a bit shy to say anything, but I offer my condolences as well. ;;

Kirie, Roxie *pulls you in for a tight hug* I'm so sorry. If either of you want/need to talk, hit me on PM. *big squeeze*

Seems like so much is going on for so many lately. I hope lives even out and get on kilter.

Here I was, rude, totally glazing over the fact there have been recent deaths in the family for two of you. I would like to offer my Condolences as well, even if I may not know you and vice versa. I mean... for all the words of someone you do not know can be worth...
---

Not to make light of the situation, but I should probably bring in something Solas related. I'm not sure what to think of his name, origin, and upbringing at this time. However, I've been dwelling on the religious thing ever since I took a better look at the cover art and the seemingly outrageous possibility of Vivienne being a daughter of Flemeth. As well as the whole Judas thing. (Yeah the Judas thing) But maybe it's not in the sense of betraying the Inquisitor, but the beliefs pushed throughout at least Fereldan and Kirkwall. The chantrys beliefs of Andraste and the Maker. There are a whole slew of other religions and beliefs other than that of the Maker and Andraste. However, I'm on my phone so I'll have to write out my whole jumbled mess of a theory later. (Along with drawing Sera and Cole and their 'get along' shirt.)

I agree 100% I just feel it will be awhile before we see anything with Solas but who knows we just might get a surprise soon.  :D

I've been there. I know the feeling well. And how sometimes, getting the chance to talk to someone outside of it all, just tell them what you need and want to, can help a lot. *hugs* So, I mean it.

Just in case anyone in here isn't able to watch LadyInsanity's video, this is what David Gaider said about hedge magic and mages (I left out a few words, uhs, ums and the like but it's accurate otherwise :) )

Gaider: Hedge mages don't have a specific magic, it's magic that hasn't been developed.  It's like a river that gets dammed and thus the power sort of seeks alternate means of expression.  So the hedge magic can cover a wide variety but what you end up with is somebody who's not actually doing spells, their natural magic talent is expressing itself in ways that normal mages consider to be 'well you've basically ruined your talent' because once it does that there's no way to go back.  A hedge mage cannot turn around later and learn how to do proper spells.

Edit: Sorry if someone already did this, I've had a little trouble keeping up today :pinched:

Inquisitor: Do you ever regret not getting professional mage training?

Solas: (Starts to speak but is interrupted by Vivienne and Dorian arguing) -Based off of the "proper mages" I've met I'd say it's vastly overrated.

Inquisitor: Most mages aren't like your counterparts.

Solas: Well that's a relief. To listen to those two you would think the Circle of Magi was an expensive tailor's shop.
