Here, have a mysterius Solas for comfort

I had an awesome brain blast at work today regarding Cole and Solas' banters that reference movies. The writers decided to do so many movie banters is because: watching a movie in real life is like watching spirits enact a memory in the Fade!
There are many interpretations of the same scenes, just like how many spirits embody the different emotions of people in the same event. Movies evoke emotion and thought and some influence people very strongly. Remember back a few pages where everyone was excited about Falkor and Dark Crystal? Those movies came out ages ago, but they still cause people here to get excited about them.
Certain scenes or characters resonate with people in real life just like powerful memories resonate with spirits who witness them. Ostagar? The dwarf child protected by a hundred warriors? How about the Prophecy where a soul (I think) was put in a child?
Bioware's writers are clever freaking people, and they're awesome for connecting movies with Fadewalkers like Solas and Cole. Seriously. It's a good way to bring attention to well known scenes, provide an Easter egg for knowledgeable gamers, and tie in to how best to treat Solas' stories about Fade memories.

I'd admit I hadn't thought about it like that. To me he just confessed how he felt and then left, for that not to happen. But looking at it I can see how it's easy to make something else into it. My IQ still didn't though.
But as I said before I'd taken my mind out of this discussion, but here I am at it again...
Like you said, not all of us are teenagers. I guess being with the same man for ten years and having kids change the way you think about love. That there's more to it than just desire, like trust and understanding. As I said before, I feel in love with his morals and personality, before I even knew about his godhood.
I just don't understand the mentality that says that if they're having sex, the relationship isn't also about respect and understanding- as if those things are mutually exclusive. And I am married to the same man for a few years, too.
For Solavellan, I don't think physical intimacy is the focus of the relationship, certainly not like Iron Bull. But there are plenty of hints that can be taken to mean that they're intimate if you so choose. I realized you probably thought I was referring to his flirt lines at the beginning of the game, but he says "enjoyable side benefit" referring to getting her into bed. For someone with Solas' trust issues, having been betrayed by a person close to him, and who invests a lot of importance into his dreams, I imagine that sleeping with someone else- just sleeping in the same bed- is a huge expression of how much he feels for her. So to imagine them going off to their respective corners at night would be rather sad. And if they're sharing a bed and not doing it, to me that's just weird. But here is where we leave it up to individual interpretation.
One thing that drives my nuts; How do insert images in this forum? I tried yesterday (had a very sad Solas with a broken orb) but didn't manage to make it work...
You need a URL from an image site, then you either hit the photo icon and insert the URL, or some image sites will give you and [ IMG ] [/ IMG ] code that you can copy paste here.
As I've understood it, does *all new, faded for her* even have anything to do with *What lies dormant*? I though it was conected to the artifacts and suppoused to trigger when you have 10 of them...
I just hope this ' patch' doesn't screw up the game for me (like the ones for DAO & DAII always did)
If it works though the quest should be there even right before the game ending, shouldn't it. You shouldn't need to restart a game... or?

I'm fully aware of that. I'm not ignorent in such matters. As you - and I, and so many else - have said earlier it's up to each player to make up their own interpretation/story to what happens/doesn't happen. That's our prerogative after all.
I'm just of the feeling that there's more to their relationship. Like almasy87 said before, I'd like to think that they are beyond that. I also feel uncertain that Solas would go that far when he's already tourmented enough by only kissing...
But that's my thought. Everyone has their own rights to theirs. That's all I'm saying.
At least we can all agree on that Solas is Solas ![]()
So truce, please...

I still have hundreds of codex entries to sort, though. And I have no idea how to upload things to the wiki
All new, Faded for her has issues. I hadn't heard of the demon spawning issue till Lliiranna said she had it, but it also never appears in your Completed Quests section after you've finished it. I notice there's no mention of fixing that bit either.
Measuring the Veil does not actually track the artifacts you've activated - at least not like any other companion's fetch quest. It registers as complete after the first one. No mention of this being altered with the patch.
People have theorized that one or both of those is the reason What Lies Dormant has never triggered for anyone ever. People are even saying its a myth that it exists at all now, but Mr. Weekes confirmed somewhere on twitter that it should trigger after 10 artifacts are found. It doesn't.
But they're definitely gonna fix Varric doing squats while talking to you in Haven, right? Because people were practically ready to riot over that, right?
I'm also worried the patch will break more than it fixes. Because there always seems to be a patch for the patch. My Serenity PT is at the point where Measuring the Veil can be triggered. I dunno if I should keep playing or wait or what. Doom.
Exactly how I feel.. I mean who cares about Varric's legs? XD
Ok maybe some people care but that clearly does not look more relevant than Solas' problem.. that or other silly things they fixed (like the influence exploit).
As for What lies dormant.. as I've posted somewhere else ( here http://forum.bioware...t/?p=18372285 )I am pretty sure I had it in my first playthrough as I remember some elements of it..! but I don't recall anything else about the quest where he asks to close the rift (I didn't care much for Solas in that PT :/)
my face right now:
I'll admit the Varric thing did bug me but there are so many more important things to fix than him exercising a little
Like quests that don't trigger at all *cough* Solas *cough* Dorian *cough*.
I think that's what they should prioritize.
And for f* sake give us a storage chest!
i felt like doodling my lavellan at 4 am instead of sleeping like an intelligent person

Lord knows how many times I've had my inventory full.

That's the little nook in the Exalted plains near the Dalish camp. The book is one about Fen'harel. And there's a Cthulhu skull on the bench beside it. Not creepy at all. Nope.
I posted about that alcove a few pages back, the "thin scratches" nook. I'm pretty sure they had skulls like that in Origins and they were in darkspawn areas but maybe we're seeing a different, older species we haven't met yet or something. Or it's just a Cthulhu easter egg, who knows.

I had the problem with the pride demon re-spawning once and it was easily solved with by reloading so why that took priority over fixing Measuring The Veil which is bugged for everyone is a flat out mystery.
I have 3 AO3 invitations if anyone has a need.
Is it possible to aquire all the perks without cheating? Just wondering because I'd like to have them all an my thought was maybe doing the requisitions until I had them all early in the game..... like hinterlands only place open early ![]()

I believe that if you never use Farris and complete every single quest, you can get up to about lvl 17 influence. The rest I am afraid has to come from buying Farris stuff.. So yeah, there is a way without cheating.. if you are rich.. ? :/

Well I just so happen to be rich but I have no idea who this Farris person is or where they are. I have a legit money making scheme that is probably not as great as some other ways people have found. In Empire Du Lion I hunt down those little hog looking thing on the ice near the two rifts an the Elf tower. Their skins go for 15 gold a piece an they usually drop 5-10 skins an I can instant kill them with Solas. Gives me about 10,000 gold in about 30 minutes.

He's a merchant who peddles trade contracts etc. which give you Influence and Power. You unlock him at a war table mission called Power is Money or something, then he's down by the barn at Skyhold.
Guys..

"Fixed issue with the demon that could spawn during Solas’s personal quest."
I wonder what this means? Was there supposed to be a demon during Measuring the Veil that would trigger What lies Dormant?
I'm guessing this also means that the only way to trigger this is to restart a new game? XD Since I've already done that q
Not sure about during but Have an invincible pride demon stick around the area after the personal quest.
