This is hilarious, oh my god. Solas is a man, and as a man I don't give a damn how damaged you are, you're getting some ***** or you handle things yourself.

Relationships are more than sex. Doesn't mean that you can be "above" it anymore than you're above any of the other normal relationship stuff. Lol this is like looking at the Twilight fandom sometimes, jesus. Sex is a normal part of a relationship, same as kissing, talking to one another and contact. We are humans, humans need these things at least once in a while. No one is above normal human interaction, no matter what bs they feed you or what mask you put on.

Solas isn't keeping blue balls forever, not with the way he was holding that ass at the end. I guarantee that.

Lol, let's not get into the Twilight discussion again. That was about fifty pages back. You're probably safer in the Cassandra thread Colonel, where we know 100% that the Seeker reads dirty books and puts out on the first date. ;)

Anyway I didn't object to people preferring to think of the relationship as asexual, rather an assertion that it clearly was. I think we can leave it there.

While I agree most men are pretty one track minded when it comes to sex, I should remind you that this topic does not come with a definitive yes or no. What's obvious to you certainly isn't obvious to everyone else, and the fact that this is a pixlellated character negates your point entirely.

Solas isn't human. He's a video game character, and as such, can have whatever personality his writers give him. And his writer has said that it is up to each individual player to decide if Solas had sex or not.

End of story.

Yea because bioware's been pulling punches like crazy lately and decided to play it safe, rather than get a bunch of complaints about being manipulated and throwing claims of rape.

You can think what you want and have whatever opinions you want, but there's realism and idealism, and this is disney land idealistic bs.

My first instinct was to leave Cole as a spirit; Solas' agreement just confirmed what I already thought. I get that change isn't always bad. But, trying to change into something you are not isn't necessarily healthy. Cole is a spirit; he will never be fully human. It's like trying to change a dog into a cat; it will never happen. I think that is what Solas is getting at in his comment to Varric. Of course, we can make changes within the confines of our essential nature but we cannot change into something else entirely. I'm uneasy trying to reform Cole into our image; it sort of says that his natural state isn't worthwhile and I don't agree with that. It's too human (or elf) centric. Additionally, our quizzie doesn't have the knowledge of spirits to make that judgement; Solas at least knows more about them and his agreement made me more comfortable with my decision.

One cannot simply kill a knight-enchanter.

I'm fine with Vivienne. Vivienne is intelligent from her background. Dismissing her intelligence is like declaring Morrigan is dumb for getting Dalish facts wrong. Her opinions don't agree with mine but it's no less valid. Southern Thedas is a dangerous place were you can be killed because everyone fears magic. Mages aren't harmless oppressed people. We had three games to come up with this conclusion. Sure there are always bad apples that ruin the bunch, but the damage is enough. More damage than any sellsword could cause. Heck, in one war table, you had to pay for the rebel mage children for burning the barn and crops. My favorite quote is something like, Nothing is more dangerous than a young mage with a lack of knowledge.

I didn't say I would. I said she should.

Don't missunderstand me (again) Vivienne may not be my favorite character, but I do respect her. Some of my IQ's even like and understand her. Much of what she says makes sense.

But with my Solas-romancer elf I just wanted to strangle her...

But they're definitely gonna fix Varric doing squats while talking to you in Haven, right? Because people were practically ready to riot over that, right?

He does? O_O I never got that. Why did I never get that? Why do I not get half of the bugs people encounter? That's not fair, I feel left out!

And what's wrong with that? Are video games not like every other kind of entertainment? Who said realism is a requirement? You? Do movies have to be realistic? TV shows?

Some people could use a little disneyland in their lives if you ask me.

Lol if that's what floats your boat, then fine. As long as they know that the entertainment world is where that crap exists, and not the real world. Not by a large margin anyway.

Sorry, my attention is divided and stuff, so I think I might have missed some... context or... significance... but are you guys really heating up about whether a (digital) character had or did not have sex with another (digital) character? Does it even matter? I mean, unlike other topics here, this is not even an ethical question. Even not all people are the same so what's the point in even trying to generalize based on snippets from cutscenes?

I turned cole into a spirit in my mage playthrough and human in the rogue one(just because I wanted to rebel and prove Solas wrong:p) Each aspect has its own sweet moments.
SpiritCole is happy that you didnt change him. He regains his purpose. Its funny and kinda sweet how he helps ppl at Val.
HumanCole is kinda maturing . He is coming into terms with his friendship with Rhys and his own feelings about people. I felt it was heartwarming and sweet.

I'll admit the Varric thing did bug me but there are so many more important things to fix than him exercising a little

Like quests that don't trigger at all *cough* Solas *cough* Dorian *cough*.

I think that's what they should prioritize.

And for f* sake give us a storage chest

Lord knows how many times I've had my inventory full.  -_- The pack rat in me needs a storage chest badly!

Oh yes please. I always end up having to use the perks to get the extra inventory space and it's still not enough

Of course he wants to, I don't doubt that. But I think his feelings and thoughts struggle to much for him to act on it.

As Weeks himself put it "When he kisses the Inquisitor, he is fully ready to lose himself in her and forget about the mission he has dedicated himself to. However, when he pulls back, he realizes that he cannot do that lest he betray himself. He decides right then that he needs to break off his emotional entanglement with the Inquisitor, as much as it hurts him."

Oh, come on. Look, I head cannon my IQ as having done the deed with our dear Solas. I have no problem with sex within the context of their relationship. But, there is nothing Disney or Twilight or whatever label you want to throw at it to try to denigrate people who didn't do the deed. You are looking at this from your male point of view entirely and that's a problem. First, your POV is not necessarily Solas' POV. But more importantly, you are taking away the quizzies agency in the situation. She has a say in whether they have sex; and, well, as the player that controls her, these disney, twilight (eyeroll) players have the ultimate say. Bottom line, your attempt at shaming people into your head cannon is roundly rejected.

Ugh, Weekes!! Stop saying stuff that breaks my heart.

On a side note, I'm currently writing the smuttiest smut that ever smutted. I mean really, it's making me blush just thinking about it, never mind typing it all down. I've never written smut but after reading so many kink meme's, I feel the need to give back to the community. I also need a shower. And maybe a nap. ;-)

It's due to the romance being ambiguous. Solas being asexual? Should have stick to cuddling like a josephine romance. They had sex? Make out on the bed. No... nevermind. someone would interpret it as just make outs on top of the sheets, and not go to the next stage of under the sheets. Full blown ramming. There, they had sex.

I've been flipping through the thread and I've seen people talking about it from Solas' POV, and going through the romance, and it seems like you'd have to ignore more context than not to headcanon some asexual relationship there, just because there wasn't an actual sex scene.

That turmoil at the end was him wanting to simply be with her, it doesn't mean that he's never done the deed. Sure, you can head canon it how you want, but really? Lol. It's rather clear Bioware wanted that but avoided going all the way with it because of his status as a god and his mark on you.

I mean, look at this thread. You already had people so upset because they felt manipulated now. Imagine if he did have sex with them in a scene. It'd be worse than the blackwall reaction. This is a safety net at best.

You don't touch and feel up on someone so comfortably unless you're shagging. Just sayin.

Agree to disagree. My husband and I did all of that for three years before we got married and DID NOT have sex till on our honeymoon.

Like people have said personal interpretation. And each person is probably viewing it through the lens of personal experience.

I agree, there is evidence to support the idea that they had sex. But, it's not confirmed and leaves room for interpretation. And you might even be right about the reason that BW left out a sex scene, so as not to anger fans. It still doesn't devalue another's choice to roleplay that their quizzie didn't have sex. I could easily head cannon that Solas left before we actually consummated the relationship. Or that Solas didn't want to rush into anything. Or, whatever, it doesn't matter.

Debating what you think is fine in my book. Trying to force your POV on others by shaming traditionally female forms of entertainment crosses my line.

ETA: I also don't like the idea that your desires as a male override the quizzies desires. She always has the option to say no, no matter how frisky Solas might get.

Lol but you did have sex though ;) And I'm sure he took care of his own needs in the meantime while respecting yours.

But agree to disagree, sure. I just had to represent for my gender real quick and say my piece. I'll be done in a bit.

I'm referring more to people using their real life delusions to support this idea in game, not necessarily saying it's invalid, even if I do think it's a crock of ****, personally.

But anyway, that's my 2 cents. Good day to you all ;)
