Wonder how they unlocked it and if All New Faded for Her is showing up in their completed quest log. So far it's not unlocking on any of my games. Also haven't had a single party banter fire off in the 4 hours I've been playing so I wonder how exactly they changed it.
Going to start up my game and see if it unlocks for me. Will report back and edit this post when I find out.

Nope. All New Faded, For Her is not showing up in completed quests. Talked to Solas, nothing. My game says it is up to date (I am on PC).

I really hope you don't have to go back to a previous save. It wouldn't be much of a fix if that was the case. 
I knew there was a reason I've started over about eight times and haven't even gotten to Skyhold yet (besides my horribly rushed first playthrough). Dude's skin is too green, dudette's black hair is blue... there was always a reason. Well, sometimes being a perfectionist pays off, I suppose, though I could do without the stress it induces.

I just loaded up my dude who just got to Val Royeaux and it shows "Measuring the Veil" under completed quests. Is this new or did it always show up there?

It's always showed up there for me after activating the first artifact. I've loaded up a game where I haven't collected all 10 artifacts just yet.. will see what happens when I do. And if that doesn't work I'll be trying a new save where I haven't completed any of his quests yet. @_@
But Solas can die. He says so himself during the 'In hushed whisper' quest. He's glowing with red lyrium and says he's dying.
BTW: I've got the perfect sound for all you that broke up with Solas and then went with another. Always by Bon Jovi That song is hearbreaking...
It may well depend on the definition of death... If it means that his current physical state perishes, then obviously that might be described as death, but the consequences for the being that is Solas might not be the same as for the mortals surrounding him...

Urgh, I really hope that's not what we have to do. I just completed the Hinterlands (well, except for dragon) and I don't want to do it again for probably the twentieth time!
Interesting. I made about eight billion saves, so I'll load some up tonight and see if I can get Solas's quest to trigger.
Gaaah, I wanna know if Solas's quest is really fixed, but I don't have any saves to try... Anybody else managed to get it working?
Also, I've started to think Solas' last conversation after the breakup is bugged... The one where you can ask to speak about the breakup.... You don't get it if you pick the "wait, what?" option in the breakup scene, which originally I thought meant you didn't get it if you got angry. But I replayed the scene and picked the bottom left option instead - it lead to the same dialogue options later in the scene, and I got the extra dialogue afterwards - but it was actually different, Lavellan had a different first line (she was still angry). So it isn't the fact you got angry that cuts you out of that content.... Makes me think maybe it's a bug...
The romance makes some sense in the context of the legend, if we can assume that Lavellan is sort of like a benevolent Nimue (especially if she's a mage...)...except Solas doesn't succumb to her charms in the end.
I've thought about trying to find counterparts for DAI characters in Arthurian legend. Although I have to admit I was thinking about Mordred for Solas (more like he was in The Once and Future King than in Le Morte d'Arthur). But overall I couldn't find many satisfactory parallels.
Look into the Legend of King Calenhad, my friend. 
DAI doesn't work quite as well.

Yeah, I doubt Solas is immortal. Er. We need a new name for immortal. He's immortal, but he can be killed. Its possible that if he was killed, part of him might be able to escape in the same way that Mythal was- but Mythal is still a shadow of what she was. I doubt she could ever truly be considered her own entity again. Similarly, whatever Fen'Harel really is would likely be lost.
For most of the game, he doesn't seem to have any additional powers beyond what a 'mortal' mage would have. Otherwise I'm sure he would have abandoned ship in Redcliffe, and not get tortured for a year. Unless he's going for some sort of oscar as far as charades go.
I finally remembered another word I was looking for in regards to the immortality talk!
Solas, and presumably the elven pantheon, are immortal but not invulnerable. They're the type of immortal where you'll live forever unless acted upon by outside forces... like a sword to the gut, for example. Or a red lyrium infection.
And then there's invulnerable immortals, which I don't think there's a true example of in DA. Cory's close, but invulnerable technically means unable to be hurt, period. You can definitely hurt him - even kill him - but he just transfers his consciousness to a new body (until you disrupt that ability, and then he can be killed permanently).
Maybe a good descriptor for Cory's type of immortality would be indestructible instead? Incapable of being destroyed... except for a loophole, of course.

Accepted as headcanon. The Inquisition is pretty much 1990's grunge/punk scene. I think I love her more now - if that's even possible.
I think I'm going to go ahead and picture Solas as a bald David Bowie in this scenario, observing them and thinking to himself, "Ah, youth. If only they could have seen me when I was younger."

So I'm writing something, and I need input:
This is after In Hushed Whispers. Solas was thrown aside by the demon and I literally screamed at the TV, but I had to write down my idea. Terrwyn is really shaken up by the whole ordeal, and she just glomps Cassandra and Solas because she had to watch them die and now SURPRISE it's all okay. How do you think Solas would react to the embrace, especially whenever they have touched previously it was only in battle as they passed each other potions or stood back to back? I'm thinking he would utterly freeze up and be unsure of what to do - I'm drawing from my own personal experience, however. Thoughts?
