I was just thinking about this comparison the other day. I may have a theory?

Ah, FFVIII. I never got into that one as much as the others, sadly. Squall was such a cutie though. Looks a little bit like Fenris if you squint. Acts like him too, haha.

Today I went to the bathroom this morning (I am from Finland and we speak Finnish for some who may not know. Idk how many people are well educated but I do believe most if not all here lol) 

So anyways. I went there and I saw that my cat had pooped on the sandbox and I LITERALLY SAID THIS (in English) WITH SOLAS' VOICE (obiviously I do not sound like HIM but you know the same tone)

In our current timeframe Ferelden is a backwater looked down on by everybody else... Hmmm... Perhaps it is destined for greatness?

Ferelden is probably the 3rd strongest human nation on thedas. It just gets belittled because its right next to Orlais.

Since we're sharing Final Fantasy music in relation to Solas and Lavellan, have you heard Erutan's (katethegreat19) own rendition of Suteki Da Ne? Lyrics are not a translation of the original lyrics but it's just as sad and heartbreaking. And the song itself is sung quite nicely.

Honestly, everyone's attached to the dream world, or was, in the dwarves' case. Everyone was once connected to the fade. The idea of everyone being connected part of some greater being at one point, that's a possibility. The fade itself may even be a god for all we know. The developers can take this so many ways, and we still don't have enough ****** information. It sucks.

When people say that Solas's romance seems short I keep wondering why I don't feel the same.

I think I have finally clocked on to why that is.

Dragon Age 2. That's why.

 

I may be misremembering because it's been a while, but in DA2 there was sod all wasn't there? I only did the romances Anders, Fenris and Isabela. I seem to remember there was nothing but a few hilariously dodgy flirts in Act 1. Then in Act 2 you got your make out scene and rubbish fade-to-black fully clothed 'it is heavily implied we are ploughing each other now' scene. Then, I don't seem to remember much in Act3 other than a few chats here and there, oh and Anders moving in with you. I think only Fenris provided some love with that pre-final battle snog. 

 

So, yeah. In comparison to other companions in DAI then I can appreciate Solas not seeming like loads of content. But as he was my first DAI romance, it seemed like loads in comparison to what I'd had before.

Heh.

Actually, even after the Dorian romance I still don't feel totally short changed about it either.

Maybe I'd feel differently with the other romances if I COULD STOP ROMANCING EITHER SOLAS OR DORIAN ALL THE TIME.

Question for you all!

Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. When do you guys jump into that quest? Before or after Here Lies The Abyss?

I went for after in my first run because I was all excited for Hawke and so went running through that whole quest before I gave Wicked Eyes a second glance. But this has continued to be the way that I run. It just seems more appropriate to get that whole Warden mess out the way (and not leave Hawke just standing around in Crestwood waiting for you  ) and then take a break from all the battling with some dancing around The Winter Palace. Then get Morrigan and immediately work on her advice to go to the Arbor Wilds. 

 

But looking at the trophies for this game, I noticed that Here Lies The Abyss is actually unlocked after Wicked Hearts in the storyline trophy order. Huh.

I don't think I could ever break the habit of doing it first.

 

If anyone, like myself is really sad and enjoys some Stats then here are some DAI ones for those that play on Playstation 4:

Of those that have installed DAI on their PS4: 89.6% have actually finished the prologue 

Then a huge drop as it seems most PS4 inquisitors are still wandering around Haven:

In Your Heart Shall Burn - 49% completed

Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts - 28.9% completed

Here Lies The Abyss - 27.5% completed

What Pride Had Wrought - 18% completed

Doom Upon The World - 14.1% completed

 

The amount of PS4 players that drank from the Well of Sorrows - 8.3%

And those that completed a romance - 17.9%

Only 67% have finished a War Table mission.

And only 25.7% have picked a specialization 

Lazy PS4 gamers. Pull your socks up.

 

Doom Upon the World has actually gone up .1% since I looked last night. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU .1%! Heh.

 

If this was Scuttlebutt then this would be proof of WORST GAME EVER. LOOK HOW MANY QUIT AFTER PROLOGUE! 

But actually this is really common. For comparison, the game I'm currently going through, FarCry 4. Only 81.8% of owners have actually done the opening, and then it drops to 45.2% for completing the first part of the storyline. I'm guessing everyone else just got eaten by Honey Badgers.

 

Basically, only the brave make it past the beginning. And the crazy obsessed make it past it several times...and then some more...

 

Now I feel like playing DA. Sod it. S'almost my birthday. Imma go treat myself. Now to decided between my Solasmancer or my Bullrider. 

 

I'm all over the shop.

I usually do Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts after Here Lies the Abyss. Mainly because, if I remember correctly, Wicked Hearts needed quite a large amount of power. xD

i have the same problem, sort of. Getting into his head is fine, his actions and feelings even, but to write for a haracter without a backstory and make it belivable - not so easy! I mean, what is it that motivates him so that he's willing to give up a one true love and even be prepared to kill for it... 

 

Just have to wait for more info I'm afraid.
