Wait.. can you determine the size of the rift you open? Gameplay-wise, the rifts that you open up barely harm the living enemies and doesn't tug them like it would a demon.
Oh trust me i get it, I never said this person wasnt a damn fool lol

Huh, it seems my Lavellan is the only one, who thought, that Morrigan drinking is not an option. From her perspective it was a rare opportunity to actually do something as a Keeper regarding her people's history. She wouldn't miss this one, Dalish are so touchy about collecting elven long lost knowlege.
Yeah I viewed it as a worthwhile sacrifice.
Was just listening to Los Lobos and this little bit from "Will the Wolf Survive?" made me all Solas-teary:
"Standing in the pouring rain
All alone in a world that's changed
Running scared now
Forced to hide
In a land where he once stood with pride
But he'll find his way
By the morning light"
ok is the name Aithne a default name? I cant remember and thats awful because my first Lavellan had that name. Coincedense or am i that much of a duh? lol
No, it's pure coincidence. But it means fire or firey in... Gaelic I believe, so it's a common pick for Dalish names.
I had a character in a Changeling the Dreaming LARP a few years ago called Aithne Ashraven and reused the first name for my Lavellen since it fitted the character. Hmm come to think of it she ended up in what seemed like a doomed romance at the time too. She and the elven king ended up in love but could not be together because of their duties and responsibilities. They did eventually get a happy ending though so I can continue to hope Aithne Lavellan will too. ![]()
Am I the only person who really hopes that Sera is just Sera?
Don't get me wrong, bloomin' love reading theories and the ones on Sera are pretty interesting. Especially as she has some really odd banter with Solas and Cole, the kings of odd bantering.
But, eh. I feel like having too many ancient elves would kill it for me a bit. Too many special snowflakes as they say. I like having some grounded individuals around.
Plus, how I came to really like Sera is the fact that she has her whole 'I'm people, judge me for that.' I can really relate to her whole see me for who I am not what I am attitude. I freaking detest when my gender is brought into anything that I do. "Oh, as woman you should be..."
Nooooooo

I feel like if she turned out to be Andruil then that would become all she is about, and I'd lose that connection I have with her. All the sad face.
Knowing my luck, now that I've admitted I hate the idea it'll become canon. I am CURSED like that.
"Ar dirthan'as ir elgara"
Ar = personal pronoun; I, me
dirth = tell, speak (indicating knowledge or secrets)
an = suffix indicating place or location
'as = ?
ir = very, more
elgara --> elgar = spirit
Okay, so the 'as connected after dirthan ("speak" + "place") and the extra a after elgar are unaccounted for, but for the most part we can crack the rest of the sentence. My best guess is "I speak of a place very spiritual."
"ma'sula e'var vhenan"
Ma = my, mine, you
sula = not sure. Sounds similar to sulahn, which means sing.
e' = ?
var = our
vhenan = heart.
So a few more minor words unaccounted for, but it seems to start with "my song" or "your song," and end with "our hearts."
My best guess? He's probably saying, "I speak of/to a place very spiritual, my/your song [in] our hearts."
This is sort of supported by what he says after Sera answers insolently. (He was probably appealing to her elven heart/spirit, hoping she would feel at least somewhat moved even if she didn't understand it, then she spat in his face. Honestly, I'd curse at her after that too.)
- Solas: Ar dirthan'as ir elgara, ma'sula e'var vhenan.
- Sera: Pppbbthh!
- Solas: Excuse me?
- Sera: Excuse yourself. Whatever you said and what I did, same difference to me.
- Solas: I'd hoped, well, our people can sometimes feel the rhythm of the language despite lacking the vocabulary.
- Sera: Uh huh? Know what else is good? Words that mean things. Like these. Words.
- Solas: Fenedhis lasa.
- Sera: Pppbbthh!
*fangirls over this post*
Yeah I viewed it as a worthwhile sacrifice.
I let morrigan have it because I'm human and don't really know dick about elves, but in my background, I wrote that my Trevelyan had a curiosity with them and traded with one of clan lavellan's hunters. He also fell in love with a city elf named Elene before he had to help her escape and run off to the dalish in hopes that they'd take her. Not going to go into details here, no one needs my life story, lol. Backstory before Conclave. So long story short, I'll do it myself now since I think he'd do it to finally satisfy his curiosity and so that he can personally help her people with the knowledge.
Which will be good since if making Cass divine does break you up, I might actually take that option and write in his story that he runs off to find Elene.
Has anyone considered the idea, that Solas disapproves of Warden's plan to slaughter all Old Gods not because it'd screw something/everything, but for the same reason Morrigan does her thing? For the sake of preservation of everything that once was.
Just a wild thought.

Can easily be both.
Actually, I've insta killed whole groups of dudes with that ability sometimes. Dovahkiin has become ethereal tho.
God damn dovahkiin! I want to check the duration & recharge for the skill and if the dovahkiin had ethreal they could run from it by only using the first word of the shout. I forgot the skill name of the inquisition skill but for "Pull of the abyss"...
Pull of the abyss:
duration: 8 seconds
recharge: 32 seconds
Becoming ethreal:
duration: 8 seconds(1st word), 13 seconds(2nd word), 18 seconds(3rd word)
recharge: 20 seconds(1st word), 30 seconds(2nd word) 40 seconds(3rd word)
So even if the inquisitor attempted again, the dragonborn would already be prepared to cast it again.
Oh trust me i get it, I never said this person wasnt a damn fool lol
Here's more evidence to make them a bigger fool.
edit: Even if the dragonborn didn't have Become ethreal shout, they have one of the first shouts called Whirlwind Sprint which can push you forward away from the effected area.
My best guess? He's probably saying, "I speak of a place very spiritual, my song [reaches] in our hearts."

Can you make anything of "Din elvhen emma him?" as well.
From this banter:
He says it like he's swearing and while we have the translation of all the individual parts I cannot make sense of it as a whole. I suppose it could be an elven expression but it doesn't seem likely.

I totally drank from the well. I will (probably) always drink from the well.
Post dragon-taming:
Solas: What will you do with the power of the well?
Inquisitor: I'm gonna ride a dragon.
Solas: . . .
Inquisitor: . . .
Solas: You realize you can only summon the dragon once? Right?
Inquisitor: Then I'll ride it into battle! Like a griffon, but way better!!
Solas: . . .
Inquisitor: I can summon a dragon.
Inquisitor: Varric, you know that book you are writing?
Varric: Yes, yes, I made sure to include the dragon. I told you this many times before. No, you can't help "edit."
Inquisitor: I have some ideas for the cover art. Also, make sure Hawke gets a copy.
Blackwall: Umm, Inquisitor. Could you stop threatening to summon your dragon to every enemy we meet. Bull is getting too excited. It's distracting.

Letting Morri drink would be valid from human/dwarf/qunari's perspective, because there is no reason to drink yourself and risk the geas other than curiosity and paranoia.

From this banter:

I'm thinking it's something like "you will be the death of me"
The single word translation is:
not/isn't/dead
Also it would mean that she made Solas her sex slave...
That would be a most disturbing turn of events.
I think my Lavellan would play the Nope card and just, runaway with Dagna.

She wanted to. She stood on the edge of the well physically shaking as she tried to force herself to take that final step but in the end she just couldn't do it. Too much of the "never again shall we submit" part of the dalish creed.
"She will close rifts and she will be kind to ignorant Shem while she is in the Inquisition so long as they don't pull her tail too hard. But when she has done that, and between times, and when the moon gets up and night comes, she is the Cat who walks by herself, and all places are alike to her. Then she goes out into the Wet Wild Woods or up the Wet Wild Trees, or through the Wet Wild Fade, waving her wild tail and walking by her wild lone." (with apologies to Rudyard Kipling)

(snip)
No, you're not the only one. I admit I've been thinking to make a signature with: #teamoptimism #hope-sera-is-just-sera ![]()
I also believe it would be a bit too much and as for me, with all respect to the theories of Sera-Andruil (which make sense and are consistent), I really hope this won't be canon. As for me personally this would flatten the whole story a bit, as I like it as it is now with so many different people, some of high class society and some just ordinary guys, joining the inquisition for various reasons.
I also like how the arc Sera-Solas is built now, as I think they represent 2 polarities and I believe they were made this way on purpose.
1) Solas extremely linked to the past, being his main point of reference for judgement, knowledge, emotions etc. From another side happy to explain the truth about it and really sick of seeing how the Dalish misinterpret the history. This approach somehow echoes in Morrigan efforts to preserve the legacy of the past, which we may see in her conversations in the Well of Sorrows mission for example.
2) From another hand we have Sera who is all about present ("why change the past when you can only own this day?"
), mocking loudly the glorious elven culture and wanting only things to come back to good old normal she knows. Imo, she represents a new type of elf, rebelling against her legacy and creating a new one of her own, more suitable to the new world she only knows, grounding all the "oh the great past" exaltations. The paradox I just saw is that this way of thinking make her seem more similar to rebellious Fen'Harel than she would ever like to admit.
I really head cannon Solas will come back into main story, either as main antagonist, either as having his own plans not completely in line with the hero of the game vision.
Hence, I think this is a very fruitful conflict of opinions for potential game development: is it worth to restore the past or maybe focus on keeping/improving something we already have? To help Solas in his whatever-he-plans mission or rather stop him? Etc., etc.
Here I can admit though that BW NEVER develops the story in a way I see as most logical and possible, so... yeah
Maybe it's also a curse
