So I have a question about the romance. I just did the Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts quest, and at the end, it didn't give me the option to dance with Solas. He hasn't kissed my Quizzie yet either. What gives? Can I still romance him?
You must have done the Fade scene already since it's your first convo with him after you get to Skyhold - if you didn't kiss him there then your chance for love with him is gone. You have to kiss him there for it to start.

Umm... first off, what race/gender are you playing?
Abelas' time indeed. I wonder is BW guys are surprised about the resonance this character started. So many fangirls, me included, swept off their feet... Maybe we'll get some treats, since developers do pay attention to fan's reaction ![]()

your avatar is hilarious
omg
im glad you think so
cuz i thought i was being hilarious
Maybe she opened it??
That's certainly possible. Though if she did, I think Solas would've noticed, so he can assume she was doing.... something of importance???
Alas I cannot read his mind and we don't see anything past that.
Don't feel bad - i'm the worst at theorizing mostly because I am 90% certain we'll get the answers to most if not all the questions in upcoming DLC/next game. So i'm like 'ugh, why expend brain power'. I don't trust the codex entires only by virture of the fact that they are written by in-game authors. This game trains you to distrust that history - or at least tries. So I put in faith in what my PC has done and what she has seen plus the epilogue. So things I know: Solas is alive and owes me answers, Solas was lying/hiding the truth, Solas loved me, Flemeth is/was Mythal, Morrigan drank from the well, Cassandra is a badass and my bff, abelas i love you please find me.
I have my own little theories of what's happened/what's about to happen, but it's nothing really major - and it's based off of what you said about the codex entries obviously not being true fact. I mean, we learn that much about Solas. At this point I just assume that all of the codex entries concerning myths and legends is at least 80% crock.
/snip
The scene is pretty vague as far as if she is doing anything significant with the eluvian at that moment. I always just assumed she was about to go through it, or something until people started saying other theories. And it would be difficult to say there is anything to do with Kieran since he may not even exist in some playthroughs. The old God soul may not even be around anymore, unless she somehow sneakily stole it at the end on Origins, which would be unlikely.
/snip
Exactly. I don't think the Old God soul that Kieran has can be as pivotal to the story as it could be solely because it was left as a player choice. This is the same issue I can see happening with the Well of Sorrows. I don't want such a major choice to basically be retconned, but I'd also like some resolution to that issue (because whether your character or Morrigan drinks from it, it's obviously a big deal).
For a while I thought they could involve an Old God soul in a similar way as Kieran's was with Corypheus's dragon bro, but if I remember correctly it's basically said that it's not a true Archdemon and is actually just a blighted dragon or something, so it probably doesn't have an Old God soul.
I need to look at conversations and codex entries and crap again so I don't just talk out of my ass about this stuff.
Honestly, I never really cared for any of the elves (romance-wise) in past DA games so, for me, choosing to romance Solas was based purely around his personality. I had fun with Zevran, but just as a buddy. I didn't care for Fenris, maybe because I was super pro-mage. Anyway, Solas impressed me - I gather it was in a similar manner to how Lavellan impressed him, suddenly and unexpectedly.
And also the fact that he showed his tongue down her throat HNNN~

Can I just say that I love how all our companion mages have such distinct and intelligent viewpoints? None of them are happy about the status quo, but each has a different method of change.
We have Vivienne, who believes mages should gain power within the current system.
Then we have Solas, who wants to overthrow the entire system.
And finally Dorian, who wants an end to the circles but also serves as a voice of caution since he has seen the balance of power swing too far the other way.
And all of them have extremely persuasive arguments. Even though I agree most with Solas (the whole keeping mages locked away by a drug-controlled army of templars is just **** IMO).
I might have missed someone else posting this (can't keep up with this thread) but "What Lies Dormant" finally triggered for me last night after finding another artifact (I already had more than 10). Looks like the patch fixed it. Gave Cullen the war table mission and I'm about to fire up the game to see if the rest of the quest works.

Same here, to all of the above. That's why that fancomic a few pages back made me laugh (and cry a little). In DAO I romanced (an unhardened) Alistair, and DA2 I did Anders, and now Solas. Apparently I suck at choices.

Am I the only person who really hopes that Sera is just Sera?
Don't get me wrong, bloomin' love reading theories and the ones on Sera are pretty interesting. Especially as she has some really odd banter with Solas and Cole, the kings of odd bantering.
But, eh. I feel like having too many ancient elves would kill it for me a bit. Too many special snowflakes as they say. I like having some grounded individuals around.
Plus, how I came to really like Sera is the fact that she has her whole 'I'm people, judge me for that.' I can really relate to her whole see me for who I am not what I am attitude. I freaking detest when my gender is brought into anything that I do. "Oh, as woman you should be..."
Nooooooo
I feel like if she turned out to be Andruil then that would become all she is about, and I'd lose that connection I have with her. All the sad face.
Knowing my luck, now that I've admitted I hate the idea it'll become canon. I am CURSED like that.
You're not the only one. I hope they weren't foreshadowing when Solas is commenting on Varric's book, like "So at the end, it turns out EVERYONE is someone else in disguise."
Meanwhile, back in Skyhold...
Quizzy: You guys, I'm really shaken up by the disappearance of Solas. How could be not be who he said he was?
Blackwall: Remember, I was not actually a Warden.
Quizzy: Yeah, thanks for the reminder. Why didn't I just execute you again?
Sera: Actually, I'm not Sera, I'm Andruil, bad-ass elven goddess, in a mortal meat suit.
Cassandra: I'm not actually a Seeker, I just had a crush on Lucius and wanted to get close to him. Before he turned evil, anyway. Jerk.
Cullen: I'm not actually a Templar, and pretending to be addicted to lyrium is exhausting. Really I'm a goatherd. Luckily commanding soldiers is sort of like herding goats, but with more headbutting.
Varric: I'm not actually a dwarf! I'm just a short human, and pretending to be a dwarf makes things a lot easier.
Iron Bull: I'm not actually a qunari. I am, in fact, a magically talking bull with an iron lung. But the ladies swoon when they hear "Ben-Hassrath."
Cole: I'm not actually real. You just think I am.
Dorian: I AM a Magister. For real. Even though I've been insisting that I'm not.
Vivienne: I'm not actually a mage, everyone is just too intimidated to notice.
Quizzy: Leliana, you're the spymaster. How does this keep happening?
Leliana: I'm not Leliana! I'm actually a demon that looks like her.
Josephine: Well I am who I say I am! Except...well...I actually am illiterate. Don't you ever wonder why all my papers are blank?
Quizzy: Well, this explains a lot.
here is me trying to figure out what morrigan said at the well

Morrigan blew whatever chance she had when she lied about the elven writings. Maybe if my Lavellan trusted Morrigan a little more she'd still consider letting her drink but as it is this human woman already has a working eluvian and knows more about them than any elf and now she wants whatever secrets the Well holds. Morrigan reminded Lavellan of a squirrel gathering and hoarding lost knowledge like nuts for winter with only the intention of satisfying herself. Defeating Cory was too important to gamble on Morrigan being honest.
And despite the risk Lavellan yearned to know whatever the ancient elves could tell her.

I didn't know I had to kiss him there. Uuugh. I didn't see a thing to kiss him at all, either. Frick.

Okay, just checking because not all people check for gates before pursuing a romance. It is weird you didn't get a kiss prompt for him though - i doubt you'd have missed it since it's pretty clear. Did you flirt with him at all before the Fade/Haven dream scene? I got the prompt having only flirted with him once or twice, but maybe it won't show up if you don't? That, or his approval may not have been high enough... Only things I can think of.

Did you flirt with him in Haven?
It sounds like the romance wasn't turned on at that point. Did you flirt with him in Haven?I didn't know I had to kiss him there. Uuugh. I didn't see a thing to kiss him at all, either. Frick.
Damn, some gorgeous Abelas art. Going to have to cycle a few into my wallpaper list.

Hahaha! Awesome.
I found an earlier save before closing the Breach, so I'm going to load that and see if I can kiss him when I get to that scene in Skyhold. Hopefully it pops up. I may have been half asleep when I played that scene so I'll try again.
