It would be neat if you did have the option to change, kind of like how you can change in Mass Effect, though I don't mind the pjs/businesssuit/whatever.

One thing that would have been neat is if, like in ME, you could have had a picture...or um, a painting of your romance choice beside your bed. 8D

Yay! Thanks! ^_^

Welp, Im off to bed! Goodnight, wolf pack! <3

Lol, a painting of Solas in the room? Who would paint it? Solas? Hmm... I wonder how he would depict himself? Preferably not at all, probably, but we all know how Lavellan can be. ^^

Maybe it's something else the modders can work on. That would be cool. ^^

Good night!

You may be right. Who knows? XD I just think it's a bit silly when I see butthurt kids on tumblr complaining that Bioware fixed glitches, but didn't fix the pajama problem, GTFO.

Thanks!! I'm so glad you liked it....I was just gonna ask the question, but then decided to take thirty minutes to make that silliness. XD

Oh, yeah.

I may not be the biggest fan of the Skyhold jammies on my dwarf or Qunari, but I don't feel BioWare is obligated to change them just because I don't like them. They made the game exactly as they intended. Some decisions I agree with, some I don't.

If I feel it's a major issue, I'll raise a fuss. Like if BioWare presents the Dalish as too antagonistically / unfairly compared to other races/cultures. Or draws deliberate similarities of their fictional minority races to real minority issues/cultures and then presents them in a really unfortunate way. (Like "the elves deserve to be subjugated / antagonized because they are inherently inferior to humans / they brought it on themselves" doesn't work when they're the Jews/Afro-Native Americans/Romani of Thedas. Now you're implying that real minorities should just accept being viewed as inferior or passively accept cultural entropy or somehow believe they brought their plight on themselves, and that is not okay!) Or the presentation of LIs reflecting unfortunate gender/sexuality views. (Like female LIs are always human women with the occasional elf, NEVER a dwarf or Qunari, betraying a subconscious bias that women MUST fit a conventional Hollywood standard of beauty/"normalcy" in order to be considered attractive, while men don't.) If that, I'll raise a fuss.

Pajamas though? Pfft! I'll live.

Out of likes :/ I'm glad you're sharing this! So cute! <3

D'aww thank you. It started out with the "indominable focus" bit, which was intended to help me remind myself to pay attention, but then it backfired because Solas inevitably followed, and I just can't pay attention to anything else when he's around. I hear he has that effect on people. Darn that snarky faced elf. I'll post more as they occur if you like.

My take on this was as a reference to the Stone.  It's still "calling out to the blood that walks"- (dwarves as red/white blood cells) -they just can't hear it anymore.  Or at least, they can't tap in the way they used to.  The dwarves literally sell their connection to it by mining lyrium: what modern dwarves call "Stone sense" is the faintest echo of what it would be (what their electromagnetic charge would be) if they were passing through tunnels lined with veins of raw lyrium, as would once have been the case.  They've lost most of their charge- their connection- and thus their original purpose.

Whether you're on board with that interpretation or not, figuring out how that happened seems like a pretty critical question.  Like you mentioned before, the change doesn't feel gradual.  It's like overnight the dwarves lose their entire known history and Pantheon, the "First Thaig" is formed, and their society is suddenly fundamentally changed, with aims that don't seem to entirely line up with what they were crafted to be.

My personal hunch is that it's directly related to June's role in the red lyrium Cold War and the crafting of Elgar'nan's idol in the primeval thaig, but I need a much more solid grasp on the timeline before I can start spinning theory.

I think our take on this is the same, it's just that I'm guessing that 'the Stone' is a phantom belief of what used to be, namely the Titans. :) A hive-mind god, as others have theorized more eloquently.

EDIT:

As for the books.

As said, Asunder and The Masked Empire tie in very well to Inquisition, and from everything I've heard, are very well-written.

The Calling is excellent, giving you an early view of the Architect, as well as adventures with young Duncan and Maric together, which is all kinds of wonderful. (The other Wardens, for the most part, are lovely as well.)

The Stolen Throne suffers from 'some' of the video game novel problems, as well as normal novel problems. Too many adverbs thrown willy-nilly, the pacing is a bit off, which is to be expected, considering it covers most of Maric and Loghain's time together in the Rebellion. It's well worth it for the characterization, however. Most people I know that despised Loghain beforehand ended up liking him even in Origins, which has confused them to no end.

Last Flight is bleak, and the characters aren't exactly lovable like in most of the books. They're...pitiable, I guess is the word. They're too burned out for witty banter most of the time, and the whole Fourth Blight is just awful. But it's well-written, and it puts the Wardens in a new perspective. Plus, griffons. Griffons in action.

Just finished my 3rd solasmance playthrough, and every time I go through the breakup, I get a little less optimistic about their chances of even a slightly happy ending. :( I guess I'm on Team-Hopes-For-The-Best-But-Expects-The-Worst.

I always play this song when I'm roaming around the map thinking my Lavellan is aimlessly searching for Solas, hoping she would eventually bump into him while she continues being the inquisitor.

Spoiler

Sharing Lavellan endgame songs? I'm game. This one is Tiger Festival's without a doubt.

The Hissing Wastes has always been my favorite map. I really dig the RDR feels I get from it. And as far as we know, Solas was heading west, so that's where she'll go. This is the perfect soundtrack to accompany Tiger Festival as she spurs her horse through the endless desert, determined to find her heart.

With the second verse in particular, I can imagine it applying to how Tiger tries to keep up with inquisition duties and paperwork after Cory's defeat. But she's been sleeping poorly without Solas's body beside her. Everything feels empty and wrong. Nothing will make sense again until she sets out on his trail. One can deny their heart only so long.

I don't know if there's coffee in Thedas though...

does anyone know WHEN Hawke and co find Cornflakes?  in the official DA timeline? I think it's sometime in the third act... but I'm not sure

and My sister has told me of an interesting theory that hinges on this question.

She thinks that at some point Fen'Harel manged to pocess either Larius or Janika [ depending on choices] and somehow manged to find Bianca and help her with the red lyrim. and give Cornflakes the Foci.. but due to the taint, and his weakend state [ haveing just awoken] had to leave the body and ether form the identity or pocess the body of Solas...

while I like this theroy, It all depends on the WHEN legacy acctully happend...so .. hence my question

http://www.dragonage..._US/timeline?i=

Fifth Blight begins in 829 and Hawk attempts to destroy Cory in 830 (same year Quanri shipwreck in Kirkwell, the fifth Blight ends, and the Deep Roads expedition happens/lyrium idol recovered)  I think 830 is Dragon Age:30

Larius/Janeka is possessed by Cory....

An interesting speculation revolves around the "Warm Orb" in the Legacy DLC.  It is in a chest labeled "The Great Ones Key."  It is theorized that this may be Solas' Orb, which is used to start a fight with one of the best Boss Battles in the DA games, Malvernis.  The thought is that this woke up Solas.   I don't buy this theory myself.  just find it ... interesting.

Fenedhis lasa is a curse but the first phrase "Ar dirthan'as ir elgara, ma'sula e'var vhenan" is unknown.

I'm not really sure about the first part "Ar dirthan'as ir elgara", it's something about knowledge and spirits but I haven't seen the 'as suffix before. My best guess is that it's something along the lines of "I have gained much knowledge [of our language] from spirits."

"ma'sula e'var vhenan" probably either means something like "listen with your elven blood" or "I speak through/from the heart of our people."

Thank you. :D Wish someone would translate that other part too.

Btw, does anyone has any theories why Solas is so much disapproving joining the Wardens into the Inquisition? I have a feeling he deeply hates them all and he's like: "go, just go (leave and never come back!)". I couldn't think of any good enough reasons. Thoughts?

He calls them a relic, but somehow I think it has something to do with the blight. That they want to end them. They are playing with things they in fact don't really know anything about. Just because the Chantry  says that the blights will end when all old Gods are slain, doesn't mean that they are right. They're likely out sailing/speaking noncense as usuall.

Solas probably knowns what will really happen if they succeed. Probably something terrible..

They also seem very easy to corrupt. If it takes just fear to turn them from heroes to monsters, then they are a big danger to have around. I mean they are built up by great warriors/an army.

Ord maybe it is that they are killing of the Old Gods. If they somehow are connected with Solas (friends, family etc) then I'd also be rather pissed at people for killing them if I were in his shoes.

BTW: I've read through some of the post from yesterday but far from all so forgive me if I repaet something someone else has said

_____

In regards for the pjs, I neither like no dislike the original ones, I just think they are too 'in-between'. They are neither something 'formal', nor something 'armor' like.

You're the leader of a huge mission (to save the world), and you have to work with dignitaries and people from all sociaties. . You are the face that people judge the 'order' from. As Viv puts it 'you need to be reprecentable'.

On the other hand you can be attacked at any given moment, so you need to be ready.

Point line; you can't run around all day in a pj.

And, too boot, they don't even look that comfortable and has to much bling/buttons. Especially for an elf.

Since we're sharing theme songs that fit our Lavellan's emotional state post-credits...

I don't have a proper one. It's a tragic reprise (17:56) to a really low quality 1970s anime song.

Yet, the lyrics seem to perfectly fit what she's going through. She's made a lot of decisions that led to her current grief (accepting her role as Herald of Andraste to help the elves, pursued Solas, drank from the Well of Sorrows); decisions that she knows will likely lead to further heartbreak, and possibly her downfall (especially Mythal eventually cashing in on her price for drinking the Well). Yet, she feels she needs to suppress her grief and move forward with her goals (helping the elves of Thedas, recovering her people's lost lore, making Thedas a better place for the oppressed, finding Solas), no matter what the price.

Lyrics:

Far away I heard the call of the heart that sang a song like mine
It's melody drew near, suddenly we[ we]re in perfect harmony [until he left]
My schooldays are in the past now, my heart can be my only guide
Now I know, I must follow wherever else it leads me

Wisdom only comes with time
The road to love is paved with broken hearts
My goal is close now, I must stop grieving
In my true destiny, no matter what the price

The timeline in the 'Explore the Map!' part of the site is weird.

Basically, using the in-game dating system:

Legacy DLC can be played 9:31-9:37 Dragon.

The codex entry about Fen'harel awakening is found in the Black Emporium in the beginning of Act III. Since the last time the player visited was in 9:34, we can say that Solas woke up 9:34-9:37 Dragon. Assuming the Emergent Compendium doesn't have a backlog of a few years.

The main site timeline, while it places Legacy's events in 9:30, has the actual wording of 'History is unclear as to when exactly these events occurred.'

I would have preferred Legacy to be locked in to Act II or III, to be honest. Hawke and company taking down Corypheus before the Deep Roads is a rather laughable idea. (Though honestly they probably still would have pulled it off. Crazy bastards.)

The Warm Orb involved with Malvernis's quest is very interesting. It'd have been cool to find out that for once when we released 'an ancient horror', it was this nice elf man who becomes a party member and was just a bit grumpy at being awoken.

But Malvernis was apparently a pestilent demon-like creature that wreaked great havoc on the dwarves before they managed to seal it on the surface where it couldn't pollute the Stone, which sounds a lot more literal than the usual 'disgracing his ancestors' put-down. I'd say red lyrium, but the fact a Paragon set up the system, and the founding of Paragons is recorded in the Memories makes me doubt it.

Another Final Fantasy song to share. This time, more related to Solas. I imagine Lavellan has so many questions going through her mind about him - why he acts and thinks the way he does and such.

My best guess is that without Old Gods to keep them busy in the Deep Roads, Darkspawn will start an endless Blight - since they won't have any reason to stay underground anymore (whether they'll go crazy without their Song is debatable). It possibly has something to do with the Old Gods themselves as well (as you said).

This makes me wonder about the architect, what he really is. He claims he was born unique among his kind, but is he in truth realy like Corry, a magister of old that has became blighted?

i don't buy the Warm Orb/Solas Orb theory either.  It doesn't add up.

Well, unless one believes Solas has woken more than a few times to cause rebellion and change.  Which makes my head hurt to think on, so I won't.

I didn't think the theory was that Malvernis was Solas, just that freeing/beating him woke Solas.

My phone is about to die, but...Since we are sharing songs, this is my wolf hunt DLC song. Solas singing to/about Lavellan.

Especially
"Oh yeah we meet again
It's like we never left.
Time inbetween was just a dream.
Did we leave this place?"

Edit to say I'm totally planning on making a fan tribute video to this song.

Within Temptation is one of my favorites. I also feel it fits.

And since we are sharing music for Solas/Lavellan again.

First time I heard this one (many, many, many yeras ago) was in a video about wolfs for animal planet. Always have associated it with that ever since. Find it most fitting for our (mine) dear Solas...

It's possible that he simply doesn't remember.  Corypheus was pretty muddled when he first woke up, and I always got the (vague) impression that he was the one who spearheaded the attempt on the Golden City, which would make him the magisters' leader and most powerful member.  Maybe he was the only one who held onto his old identity; if there are others out there, they would be more like the Architect--self-aware and independent of the Archdemons, but without their memories?

There's a Yoko Kanno composition that always struck me as very Solas x Lavellan as well: The Garden of Everything.

It's a mixture of Japanese and English, but it all suits them beautifully. For instance, here's what the Japanese bits translate to:

Here's an interesting codex entry:

"The journal, penned by an unknown writer, appears to be quite old, with many of its pages damaged by water and dust. The entries that can be read all appear to be about twenty years old:

We finally found Amuk alive in that passage. Still can't believe it. The only reason I didn't stop digging is because he had the key to the cache - but, after two weeks, I was expecting to find it on his corpse. What story does he come up with? That he was found by a darkspawn, polite as you please, who fed him and gave him water and evidently chatted with him about surfacers. I don't know what Amuk is thinking, coming up with a story like that, but he swore by the Stone it was all the truth. Crazy as it sounds, I know Amuk, and he's got the imagination of a dull hammer. Why would he make something like that up?

Reminds me of a story my grandsire used to tell, about something his grandsire did. Said he once came upon a group of three darkspawn in the Deeper Roads, each twice the size of any Dwarf - bigger than Humans, even - and dressed up like kings. He watched from the shadows and said they talked, like people, about things he couldn't understand. A city gone black, and they blamed each other for things but could barely remember for what. My Mam was like that: never remembered the slight, just that she was angry. Story goes they attacked each other, and one ran off while the second choked the third to death and then ate him.

Don't know about Darkspawn having talking kings, never mind polite ones that give you food and tea, but maybe Amuk met one of them. There's strange things in the Deeper Roads, after all, things the Shapers can't even recall. As if smuggling wasn't dangerous enough."

From the sounds of the Grey Warden reports, Corypheus was confused but controlling sections of the dispersed horde in the decade following Dumat's death. They also mention encountering intelligent mage darkspawn like him in the plural.

Corypheus was just the one they managed to catch.

It's very curious that Corypheus only seems to get a grip on his **** after he's unsealed. He wasn't even aware that he was playing Derelict Reaper with the Wardens. He seems to have vague memories of 'a thousand years in the dark, confused, no more."

And these magisters seem to know what just happened, even if they're a little addled from that pervert the Maker flashing them. (That's been my headcanon since Origins, don't judge.) Some have speculated the Architect's memory loss is due to being that one that got eaten and it taking a toll on his psyche. But, assuming that one was permanently killed, we have five magisters left, counting the Architect.

:D
