You have peaked my interest and I would like to understand better. So stop thinking anyone would have you banned (BioWare would be hard pressed to justify that anyway) and get back to the discussion when you're back online.

I am running with a pretty thorough game plan/headcanon so I was always going to disband the order and sod what my team think. I was just surprised she disapproved when she seemed so against the order.

Although everyone but Sera and Solas disapproved.

First because I really don't care about people's feelings enough to limit what words I can and can't use in an informal place. If anyone's that sensitive, then I don't really want to get to know them anyway.

 

And no, my language doesn't imply that I'm sexist, and like I said before, if someone actually thinks I'm being sexist, they're going to have to point it out.

 

No, you shouldn't have brought it up. Not when in the same breath you say that you call women 'bitches' in anger. Using gendered language as insults in an argument, in real life or online, is sexist, whether you like it or not.  Why throw names, of any kind, around in the first place?

I think the problem with DAI is that it was written for a human originally. If the game had been planned from the start to have multiple races then maybe the dialouge choices would be different.

I really wish that post-Haven (right before the Dawn Will Come scene) there was an option to say that you're looking to the elven gods/the Stone/trying to find something in the Qun rather than just Andrastian or atheist. I actually found it pretty hard to roleplay as a religous Dalish (although I did love the converstation you can have with Sera after the Temple of Mythal that lets you say that you believe in the Creators over the the Maker).

I tried putting my foot down as a rogue lavellan that in no way do I believe in the Maker.
There were several times when you had to make a decision on what to say in public.
Like when people assumed that Andraste pulled you out of the Fade. Josie emphasizes to continue with that statement to placate the masses.
I decided to try the bitter route and tell the truth..that no it wasnt Andraste.
I ended up being identified as an atheist lol.
Now I play all my characters non religious / agnostic.

About the sexist thingy, people, can't we skip that? It's a losing game, really. If something is sexist or not is really just a point of view. There's people who feel insulted if a warrior princess in a game wears some piece of nothing because they think it is sexist. I don't care. It makes no sense, but it sure is neat to look at. It is just a matter of your type of personality. You can take offense or not. Another one can mean offense or not. I am a sarcastic person, which a lot of people take offense in, but I do not care. I would not (even could not) simply change me because somebody else thinks I am doing wrong.
What is the point in arguing about it back and forth?

I don't mean this as accusatory or anything, simply my point of view. Using insults that are specifically gendered based, such as bitches or ****** etc, in itself is sexist, even if it isn't meant that way by the insulted. Using such words continues the propogation of sexist thought and action in our society. I mean, I'm guilty of growing out the occasional joking insult at my close friends, but it's still a bad habit that should be discouraged. IMO, free to ignore me.

I was responding to the exact words you used. And I'm not saying that you hate women, or are in fact sexist, but am pointing out that calling women bitches when you are angry at them, like you said you do, is a sexist behaviour. If you really hold the idea of not being sexist close to your heart, maybe you should refrain from doing that.

Boo, I'll miss him.  Snark aside (and sometimes the Gaider snark is truly glorious) I really like reading about the development process and hearing his perspective on the story.  It's helped me enjoy video games even more now that I understand even a little bit of what goes into creating them.  Can't blame him, though.

It does show in the dialogue options, especially in the Temple of Mythal.  And to a certain extent, in the racial backgrounds themselves.  Only the Dalish elf is likely to believe strongly in something other than Andrastianism; Cadash is a surfacer, and Adaar is Vashoth.  My Adaar was sort of vaguely Andrastian.

I don't mind your opinion, so I won't ignore you I doubt it'll matter to anyone here, but I and others use the word "Dick" too... I'm sure people saying just because I use male related terms as insults doesn't mean it's not sexist, but thought I'd put it out anyway.

 

But to bring this back to the original point, I don't agree that Cass is intolerant just because she said something in anger and frustration when 90 percent of the time she is very understanding and considerate of other's opinions. Same as how I don't think someone can claim I hate women or think they're lesser human beings because I use words like ****** in jest or anger.

 

Obviously, people don't agree, same as how they don't agree that Cass isn't intolerant. Perfectly fine. Moving on.

It is a mystery, especially because as of a few days ago we actually were almost always on topic.
