Yeah I'm ok as long as Weekes continues to be in charge of writing him. He doesn't strike me as the super cynical type who would write a one dimensional villain like that.

To add to this, Weekes said he was really bad at writing villains. He usually just has them turn out to be evil dudes that aRe slinging really mean insults around (example: he wrote the nightmare deamon) so I feel like ultimately having Solas turn into a villain is sort of out of the question. I can't imagine a world where he would hurl insults at his beloved Levellan. I feel like Weekes being bad at writing villains in general bodes well in our favor of Solas not being one. Assuming that Weekes will continue being Solas' s writer. If not, I may ragquit.Weekes has a history of writing all my favorite characters.

Edited to add: Solas is no exception.

How can you be an avatar ang looking Professor X apostate hobo without liking tea? Can't wrap my head around it.

Maybe Solas drinks that banana and onion juice monstrosity that Aang gets from the guru.  Also, this is an amazing sentence.

Do the dalish also have vallaslin on their bodies? The cards seem to show it...

More importantly, where is it exactly on their bodies?  How far down does it go?

I hope so. Crazy sexy. I assumed they did, especially with Fenris and how people compared his marks to theirs. Even though it wasn't the same.

I imagine if Weekes isn't writing Solas in the future, Gaider would be. Apparently they collaborated pretty heavily on Solas. Good thing they're my two favorite BioWare writers!

Another example of bioware saying things aren't as they seem in inquisition.

Cole's a demon, looks human.

Iron Bull's a qunari, not an *******, lol.

Solas totally looks like he chugs tea with his pinky poking out... Not him at all apparently.

How can you be an avatar ang looking Professor X apostate hobo without liking tea? Can't wrap my head around it.

Not to mention that he likes frilly Orlesian cakes,it's another indication that he's more than an apostate hobo perhaps. :D

I love Gaider, but.... I don't know how much I would trust him to have complete reign over Solas... he is kind of sadistic.

I think the only person who Gaider would let have Solas besides Weekes is Gaider.

We've had Solavellan music but what about Solavellan dance?

Oh, I just love that one, Sat as glued to the tv every week back then. When Moore does something good, its good. Though there are others I prefer better. Travis for instance.

But back to Solas.

Agree that Weeks are the one who should write him. Don't trust Gaider either, even if he is a great writer. But if the suddenly annonces that he's taken over fully for Solas, then we can say bye-bye to our happy ending...

Btw: I've gotten this really great art idea to do. Just got to be able to pull it off....

BUT he did give us Zevran and Fenris, and both can turn out happy. ;) Even Morrigan has an obvious soft spot when she's talking about her Warden. Mr. Gaider's a softy inside...but he does enjoy our fan tears. XD

On a side note, almost every romance Gaider has written so far ended well or at least gave you the option to avoid a tragic outcome.

Well, except Viconia, though I don't know if she counts or even if he wrote her.  I have the vague feeling that he wrote her romance, and she...doesn't end well.  But that was a very, very early BioWare romance, one of the first four, before they really hit their stride.

Mia too when she wasn't too busy being a complete diva.

I literally think this has all of my favorite dances in it, so I'll just post this instead of linking them all.

If he did my Lavellan would be like "right..." and then haul of a litany of insults.  My girl is a little bit more hot-headed and after she met Varric, she became the cursing queen.

I agree though, I don't thik Solas is every going to be a Corypheus type villain.  Even if what he does is ultimately idiotic and terrible for the world, he really cares about people overall.  You're supposed to like him or at least feel for him.   I have a feeling they already have an outline of where it's going.  They had to have some idea of what the ending was going to be like when they started or at least were part way through.   At least I hope they did and they don't pull a Battlestar Galactica 'Oh whoops, we didn't know where we wanted this to go so have a mess of plot!"

Uh oh.  Off-topic, I'm just starting to get into BSG, and I really like everyone and the show overall.  Is this going to be another ME3-ish hard turn toward insanity?

Well, Exalted March was scrapped pretty early on, and Gaider's said before that the game in early concept doesn't really resemble the final product in a lot of ways.  So hopefully someone could have talked them out of the mass character death  But David Gaider's been feeding off fan tears since Baldur's Gate (the series where they killed off LI in epilogue slides) so I can't say I'm entirely surprised.

I am no where near the level of DG nor do I feed myself the illusion that I will ever be, but I find killing off characters simply to garnish a reaction from fans/readers...pretty low and just plain horrible writing. No character should ever be killed off for the simple reason of evoking anger/sadness out of people, for example the Alistair and Hawke decision in the Fade. That did not effect the plot in anyway*as far as we can see right now* and the majority of people I know find that scene simply used to get emotion out of people.

There needs to be closure in every traumatic scene or it will be a firestorm on these forums once we see what happens to Solas/Solavellan.

That is a common question if you are bilingual. Everyone wants to learn the curse words first.

But they tend to be very difficult to explain because they are very culturally biased...

I am legit shocked at the number of books, movies, television shows...you name it, that don't seem to have any idea how to finish up a plot or it gets too tangled and nobody can unravel it.

Case in point- one of my favorite shows, Once Upon A Time.

They are the WORST at getting themselves into plots they have no way out of so they either retcon it, handwave it, or more likely pretend it  never happened to begin with.

Things OUAT is also bad at? Having important, life-changing conversations between characters offscreen. What.

Sort of. It is hard to go into without spoilers. I will say that the decline is less abrupt than ME. ME basically just falls apart in the last 15 minutes. You'll have at least a season to acclimate yourself to the crazy places BSG goes.

I didn't hate it though. It was just a bit convoluted.

I hate to be the odd man out, but I've never been a big fan of Zev. Like... ever. As in I had to do a playthrough where I forced myself to bed him simply for the achievement and then ended up doing things that would make him disapprove of me enough to be able to kill him near the end of the game. I know I'm a bad person. I loved Fenris, though. That broody elf romanced the crap out of my male Hawke. 10/10 would bang again. So on that note, I guess I could be persuaded into believing I could be okay with a Solas who had Gaider as his only writer.

I really miscalulated with Fade Step in the Hinterlands when fighting bears.  Ended up shooting off a hill and into a bunch of Lyrium Prowlers.  Fun times.

I regularly accidently use leaping shot and knock myself off cliffs or balconies :P

I've had enough of getting my heart shattered for no reason, but if they can make a scene be heartbreaking AND have reason/closure then I will gladly have my heart shattered.

Solas wakes up and no one knows how to make his favorite foods anymore.  He then descends into angsty cooking.

That is begging for a fanfic. XD

Why do I put up with any of these guys?

The other day I was watching the dragon and giant fight in the Storm Coast, and the dragon's wing flap knocked me right off the cliff into the middle of it. All of my companions were like-

I think people are nervous because of what he wrote on tumblr (about the original DA2 expansion having a brutal ending for our favorite characters). Well, he is a great writer, and I take that with a grain of salt... If I had to deal with some of the nitpicky things I've seen some fans rage about online, I'd be kinda snarky and cynical too, lol.

It depends how heroic Solas needs to be. Or just how much redemption he is in need of. They might think only character death could do him justice. I just hope it's not super grim dark is all. I'm not a fan of nihilism.
