No. >:C Once, Solas ran over to my Inquisitor and kicked her off a ladder. I'll never forgive him.

Lol! I have so much footage of Solas not being able to figure out where to stand when we stop running. It cracks me up. I really should upload and post it.

BUT he did give us Zevran and Fenris, and both can turn out happy.  ;) Even Morrigan has an obvious soft spot when she's talking about her Warden. Mr. Gaider's a softy inside...but he does enjoy our fan tears. XD

Exactly! He's already given us two 'happy' endings, I think the man want's some tears next time

I know I would...

Mia too when she wasn't too busy being a complete diva.

I literally think this has all of my favorite dances in it, so I'll just post this instead of linking them all.

Yeah. Sonya I didn't care much for, except for when she got it right, like 1/10

There are some I haven't seen there. Only have seen, I think, 8 seasons. Then they stopped showing them over here, or at least I stopped watching beacuse it started to go at a bad time.

I regularly accidently use leaping shot and knock myself off cliffs or balconies :P

BUT isn't it amazing when you accidentally do leaping shot and end up perched somewhere perfect, shooting down arrows like a gymnastics superstar!

I think people are nervous because of what he wrote on tumblr (about the original DA2 expansion having a brutal ending for our favorite characters). Well, he is a great writer, and I take that with a grain of salt... If I had to deal with some of the nitpicky things I've seen some fans rage about online, I'd be kinda snarky and cynical too, lol.

It depends how heroic Solas needs to be. Or just how much redemption he is in need of. They might think only character death could do him justice. I just hope it's not super grim dark is all. I'm not a fan of nihilism.

That dlc did sound worrying, although what I wanted to say was that Mr Gaider isn't as sadistic as everyone makes him out to be.He's perfect at invoking the feels however, even though this doesn't always require tragedy.

As for Solas,I agree with you since I'm not a big fan of nihilism either.

I am no where near the level of DG nor do I feed myself the illusion that I will ever be, but I find killing off characters simply to garnish a reaction from fans/readers...pretty low and just plain horrible writing. No character should ever be killed off for the simple reason of evoking anger/sadness out of people, for example the Alistair and Hawke decision in the Fade. That did not effect the plot in anyway*as far as we can see right now* and the majority of people I know find that scene simply used to get emotion out of people.

There needs to be closure in every traumatic scene or it will be a firestorm on these forums once we see what happens to Solas/Solavellan.

Yeah. I have to agree with you there.  I failed to see the point of that choice given that everyone else got out alive.   Maybe they just wanted to start offing the previous protagonists to start cleaning things up(the person that made it out of the Fade may also be dead now for all we know).  I know DG mentioned that they rarely take fan theories or recommendations of plot seriously but they did like one suggestion - using the Conclave as "clean house" event.  Have a bunch of old protags. there and maybe some major companions get killed off just as a way to wrap up their stories neatly.  It was too late in development to do that, but he seemed to like that idea.

You're right he isn't. Did I just read correctly he is shutting down his tumblr? That's a shame.

As for the DA2 dlc, I probably would have been ok with a brutal ending for Hawke's story actually. But that's the kind of character he was IMO, tragic. Not so much for Quizzy, though. There's a more hopeful tone to DAI.

I had an amusing thought with leap shot - because my lavellan ends up always doing it over Solas' head.  So she does it, he's slightly amused and she's like 'haha look what i did'. Sera sees it and keeps leap shotting over his head...constantly. He becomes deeply annoyed by her.  Varric tries. He ends up being unable to clear solas head and just barrels into him, knocking them both over. Varric's legs are too short. I wish I could draw. Solas' grump face would make me laugh.

Drama for drama's sake, no matter how anyone wants to put some kind of "It made sense for the story" spin on it. Which is okay by me, but I get why people call it lazy writing.

I think in the end they never would have done it anyways, even if they had the time.  Who knows how truthful he was really being about that, might have just been said to get fans to react :P.  They may not be perfect storytellers, but I think they care about these characters a lot more than that.  It would have tied things up neatly only in the sense that they wouldn't have to deal with it.

i am probably just really naive but I don't think they weren't being totally serious.  I don't doubt that it sounded appealing for a little bit because oh man that saves us so much work and writing ourselves out of corners.

edit:  Top of the page!

It's neat. No fuss. No muss. They're dead.  BUT: It's just not good writing and it's incredibly lazy.  It's like a re-boot.  You see them in comics so the writers can just throw out the tangled messes of plot/lore to start over again.

Uh oh.  Off-topic, I'm just starting to get into BSG, and I really like everyone and the show overall.  Is this going to be another ME3-ish hard turn toward insanity?

Less of a hard turn and more a gentle slide into crazy but that's mostly just the last season I'd still recommend the series as a whole.

I am legit shocked at the number of books, movies, television shows...you name it, that don't seem to have any idea how to finish up a plot or it gets too tangled and nobody can unravel it.

Case in point- one of my favorite shows, Once Upon A Time.

They are the WORST at getting themselves into plots they have no way out of so they either retcon it, handwave it, or more likely pretend it  never happened to begin with.

Things OUAT is also bad at? Having important, life-changing conversations between characters offscreen. What.

They did well with the Frozen storyline but I think Disney was keeping a close eye on that one. The upcoming season has mess written all over it. I'm just going to concentrate on the fairyback costumes and Captain Swan.

You know what i am so freaking tired of on OUAT?  Giving Regina 5 minutes of happiness and then ripping it away.  Ugggggh don't even get me started!  I love this show too, but sometimes they drive me crazy with the back and forth.  Regina's evil, nope Regina's good, oh no wait we were kidding she's evil again.  Oh here look this is your happily ever after!  Hahahaha we were kidding, you're a villain you don't get that.  Now watch

OFF TOPIC: Watch the show. The first few seasons are amazing and I will fight anyone to the death if they say otherwise(JK you're allowed to have your opinion).  I love them a lot though.  Watch the whole series - you'll want to - but the quality dips and it's noticeable.

Killian. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Frozen was done well, but Disney wasn't going to let them run that into the ground, no way no how. lol.

Too bad they wont kill Belle and/or Henry off.

And Snow.

Maybe just let Killian, Emma and Charming run around like a crime fighting super team.

How many new pages?! ....
Considering how quickly this thread grows and how it never sleeps and how you find the time to draw fan art, write fan fiction, watch movies and TV series and still have some "real life" left I seriously wonder... Do you actually ever play video games?
