Someone asked me to do a Fem!Solas fill for VO and I threw this together really quick. I did my best to stay true to voice inflections.

You know that whole thing about "Solas-will-kill-anyone-for-blah-blah-blah"... well, I think it's different with Lavellan and it's a difference he realized, factoring in one of many reasons why he had to separate himself from her. In the long run, I think he knows she would be the exception. I can see him sacrificing himself over her, which I certainly don't want either because this whole martyr syndrome is way too overdone. Anyway, I feel these are all things that Solas considered before pursuing her romantically, but he kind of pushed them to the side until they came out all at once in their final scene together, right when he was about to spill everything to her. I think the fact that he was so ready and so close to doing that freaked him out. I feel like he wasn't prepared for her to have such an effect on him.
That's why I can totally see the pissed off newly awakened gods going for her...
And even if you don't romance him, I'm sure he has some kind of respect for the others. He does say he cares about Cole. He is there for his people, but I think he's not thinking this straight and another mistake will happen. DA:I felt like the calm before the storm. I do enjoy that he is able to change his mind and look at things with a different perspective. Like when your inquisitor drinks from the well ,and he asks what would happen if the inquisitor wakes up and sees that all that he's done is pretty much gone, and later your inquisitor says that he/she would just keep trying. That part made me happy, thinking that even when he fucks up badly, he would still think twice about your inquisitor's opinion.

Man, this bums me out. I hope he starts another blog. I really enjoy reading his posts.
Lol, I had a crush on Brynjolf from the Thieves Guild.
Had to download a mod to marry him some time ago, I melted everytime i heard him say "Lass" with that voice of his...
I know, right!? Is Bethesda devoid of female staff members, how is Bryn not a marriage option? I adored everyone in the thieves guild actually. For a bunch of shady characters, they are so much nicer to the player than the other guilds. Must resist the urge to play Skyrim now....
We've had Solavellan music but what about Solavellan dance?
Woo hoo, SYTYCD! Okay, I'll finally give in. Solavellan makes me think of this one, mostly because of the song lyrics and because it's beautiful.
**Also for the folks here who aren't so into the touchy-feely stuff, you might want to skip watching this one. Dance starts at 1:44:

I found that rather annoying, which wasn't helped by Lavellan persistently using shemlen terminology instead of elvish terms. Saying 'human' instead of 'shemlen', 'demons' instead of 'spirits', 'Fade' instead of 'Beyond'. Even some of the conversations, like the initial one-on-one discussion with Dorian, came across like the main character was an Andrastian human instead of a Dalish elf.
It's a shame, because I quite enjoyed the bits where Lavellan's Dalish perspective was allowed to be expressed, like the moment where Lavellan recites the Dalish mantra when speaking with Harding in the Emerald Graves, and her empathy afterwards when she realized the significance of the loss to him. I also enjoyed Lavellan being able to understand Solas' friend when she speaks ancient elvish, or how you can use elvish in conversation with Solas.
I personally headcanon that my Lavellan knows she's among Andrastian-thinking people now, and is trying to be diplomatic by using Andrastian terms just to be on the safe side. Probably not the best explanation, but then this is a game where you have a British or deep American accent when all the other Dalish have... what? Gaelic accents? I do mental contortions to make it work where I can.
It is too bad we don't get to express more Dalish perspectives, but then we're lucky to have race selection at all. Plus, when you really look at it with a critical eye, we do get to express more in-game Dalish perspectives and phrases in Inquisition than we could in Origins. So, I take my victories where I can get them. :l

I guess I've been annoying my boyfriend with my obsessive fangirling, cause he just sent me this link:

I sort of feel sorry for him. I've been vacillating between
"ARGH THAT STUPID HEARTBREAKER EGG IS GIVING ME ALL THE LORE QUESTIONS I NEED DLC NAO!!!!" and
"Why doesn't bioware want me to have a happy relationship? *cries*" He's been super sweet though. He helps me get feelz revenge by putting Solas in plaidweave and "the egg cup hat" (I'm not sure what it's called, but that's what it looks like) during his own playthrough. I guess he knows that I'll be a vengeful ex now. ![]()
Also, it is so fluffing hard to not spoil the ending for him. He knows Solas dumps the inquisitor, but that's it (He's only just now finished Wicked Eyes and Abyss). It's going to take him forever to finish this game because he's unfortunately a completionist AND has game ADD.

A humble offering to the hardcore theorycrafters. These are screenshots from the multiplayer maps and as such might not mean anything, but I'll leave these here anyway for your enjoyment. Unfortunately these were taken from ongoing matches so I couldn't stay put for long. I'll take more screenshots when I come across something interesting - and am not being murdered by the enemy faction. ![]()

I was just thinking about this while I was at work... (Wait... I am still at work.) I mean... He's so gentle with her... I have a hard time believing that he would end her if she stood against him. He doesn't seem like a sociopath... He cares far too much about her well being.
The way I figure, he either separates because he knows that he will have to kill her if she gets in his way and he doesn't want it to come to that... Or he knows that he can't. We shall see, methinks.

It's worth a visit before he does.
I don't know why he feels he has to delete it. He can just stop using it instead. Like I saw someone suggest (on reddit, I think)... he should just change his password to a garbled mess he'll never remember in a million years and never log in again. He's already given people an entire week to make a full back-up of his blog (which people have already done, actually), so why not let it just become a permanent archive instead? Meh.

So how would your Inquisitors react to learning Solas' true identity?
I feel like mine would think a lot more about Solas makes sense, but she'd really start doubting everything she ever knew about the elven gods. I mean, the Dread Wolf kissed her like a drowning man, had little self control when it came to romance, once set his own coattails on fire accidentally, enjoys frilly little cakes and snorts when he laughs. So much for a terrifying trickster god.
I myself have always had a thing for the trickster figures in mythology (which explains why I fell for Solas so badly the moment he grabbed Lavellan's hand
), so I think that would carry over to my Inquisitor. I think she had doubts about the stories of the elven gods being entirely true, even while living with her clan. After her experiences in the Inquisition, though, she definitely feels like there's more to the legends than what she's been told. So, I feel like she would never look at Solas and see the depiction of Dread Wolf from the tales. She'd understand him a bit better, why he's so sad and withdrawn, but mostly I think my Lavellan would be hurt that Solas didn't trust her enough to tell her (yes, I fully intend to use the pity angle to my advantage when he gets back). ![]()

Is the patch out yet? And does it fix the missing Solas quest?
I'm not up to date. I'm currently in the hospital with a shattered foot, bad climbing accident. I'm waiting for serious reconstructive surgery scheduled for later today... *sigh*
Good news is, I'll have plenty of time to play DAI during my long recovery. And maybe replay DAO and DA2 and work out my own theory. Gotta stay positive *g*

Yes and yes.
Edit: Well, it does in some cases, we're not quite sure what those are, but if you have a PT where you haven't found 10 artifacts yet you should be good.

Andaran atish'an, friends.
Alright, as usual this thread is moving way to fast, so I've not read all post. If i repeat anything anybody else has said or missunderstand something - plz forgive me.
So this made me think about how the Fade is the world of dreams and that it is created by, basically, dreamers.
What if it's the opposite? What if the Fade is the "real world" and physical Thedas is nothing but a manifestation of thoughts that became "solid" over time?
That would certainly be a mindblower. ![]()
But aren't both real? Sort of.
I'm sure I'm late with this, but The Watcher... Solas, no? It has to be. Says he's reaching down into the cave, and the waterfall in the caves is called Wolf Falls. Oy, the foreshadowing was sooo thick in this game.
"Maybe with him guarding us, we'll survive this war." Maybe.
We did survive it with him watching over us, didn't we...
Glad to get confirmed that my hinch about this staute being the same as the one in the fade was a accurate one. (Have never used fly cam)
But why is the one in the fade bleading(!)?
So how would your Inquisitors react to learning Solas' true identity?
Fall on her knees?
But joke aside, I don't think she'd be that suprised. She always knew there were more to him than what he claimed. And she's always suspected there were more to the legends about the dread wolf than what the stories she heard as a child pictured. Especially after all she's learn about the elven history
She fell in love with the person, not the name.
Sure, she'd need some thought to take it all in, ask a lot of questions of cource, but no matter what she'd love him. (maybe even a bit more considering her history)
Douse him with holy water
LoL

I wish I could get my man to play the game, but I know it's pointless to even try. All he'd say is "To much talking."
He didn't even make it through DAO's origin story.
