I understand the blight something like a fungus which can enter into parasite/symbiosis with the other organisms by infecting their blood, and being able to replicate.

This reminds me of

I'm now reminded of how red lyrium grows from people.
Disturbing....

No problem. All the time I've spent collecting and sorting codex entries is paying off, I guess ![]()

Wow, yea lol I'd say it did
You should try getting in touch with the wiki guys so they can use them. Or maybe make a thread to keep it all. Catalog it. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate that.
I hate to underscore the Wardens' ignorance here, ...
Maybe I misunderstood quite a few things, but I always thought the Grey Wardens did not really know very much about it all. Mabe some, but many are just foot soldiers. Wasn't it Morrigan who even explained about the old god souls at all? I don't recall having heard this from a Warden. I used to think they did not even know what exactly an archdemon is (whose soul) or how that soul's existence (or lack thereof) would affect the world. Hence Blackwall did not strike me as odd, he was just the first "Warden" to admit that ignorance openly.
But, yes, I could be mistaken here. I've never spent nearly half as much time and thought on this as others here. I also never consulted secondary literature etc. My knowledge is limited to what the game forced on me, sort of.
Continuing on with coloring my picture thing, but I'm not sure if it is better at night or daytime;
Spoiler
Keeping in mind this is just a color rough, not close to being final.
where is the light source for night time?

Both is nice. Can't you have different versions?
Very stupid question coming up: How do you do that? Do you actually draw this all by hand, like on a sheet of paper (only on a tablet)? Or are there special tools or...?

Um, I am in touch with the wiki guys... Well, at least they know that I'm doing this
I'm afraid I'll screw something up if I try to upload them to the wiki myself, and I can only add 5 URLs to my signature
I want to finish this before I upload it anywhere, anyway.
where is the light source for night time?
And where is it for day time? The windows are behind Solas, still his "front" is illuminated.
Obviously there must be a lamp somewhere in the room outside our view.

It is technically impossible to screw up anything there. Do not worry. ![]()

I could have different versions! But ultimately it is just too much work. Depending on whether it is night or day I'll have to change a fair bit of shadows. Easier to figure it out before I go into actually coloring.
As for how it is done- I draw the picture in photoshop with my tablet. Then I digitally ink it, and throw colors on top. Because of the way photoshop works, I can adjust the colors in each layer individually. So its fairly easy to come up with a bunch of different color roughs.

One thought was to have the hands glowing, or I'll put some candlework in the back walls.
Edit; I should note, the shading is mostly just for color reference not for how the lighting will be. Hence why it is just quickly scribbled down.
About lyrium: I've always assumed it was like mercury, with both a solid and liquid state. In Asunder, there's also a description of raw lyrium, and it's a liquid.
Wynne rummaged through her pack, pulling out a large bottle filled with a glowing blue liquid. Pure, unrefined lyrium.
...
She unstoppered the bottle, careful not to let any of the blue liquid spill on her. Raw lyrium was dangerous to a mage. Even to an ordinary person it could cause madness.

Oh lol I didn't even notice the sig
And good, I'm glad that'll be up there. They're missing a lot of stuff.

So glad you made her look more normal sized. This is really good.
And if we're still doing Solavellan dances, the chemistry and passion in this one is absolutely perfect. That kiss~

Alright. Night time then. With a few candles. But not a solid blue sky, something with a slight gradient. And stars!
So this is not a vector image but pixel-based? In that case I wonder how you get the lines so straight? Can you use a liner or is this adjusted in "post-production"? I have only ever used Photoshop for retouching, I can't imagine how you are able to use it for original art. ![]()
Popping in because I literally just saw this and thought it may be helpful to the Blight-dissection discussion (sorry if old!);

Also I'll be away for a few days! Have fun, maintain the blanketfort and be excellent to eachother Solasmancers!

This game taught me that the Wardens don't seem to have any ****** clue as to what is going on. They are an incredibly secretive organization which seems to even extend internally - not all Wardens know why they do what they do. From what I gather from Solas and even Morrigan's comments in game - their "fix" for the blights could be nothing more than a band-aid and their refusal/failure to understand the mechanics of what they're doing may have problems in the long-term. Still love my Warden though.
So glad you made her look more normal sized. This is really good.

Oh. Thanks. I guess I can try and put them in there, then. The finished ones, anyway. If the wiki decides to conquer the world and exterminate all organic life afterwards - I'm not responsible ![]()

Pixels! I could never do what I do in vectors, unfortunately. I could take my lineart and live trace it into a vector, but I'd probably still color it in photoshop. I know how to use illustrator, but I never feel like I have as much freedom with it. It takes a lot of work to make an image with a lot of colors in illustrator, although there are certainly people who are masters at it.
You saying she's fat?!
I think she meant like not too thin actually haha
