Why do I have someone else's Origins character under my avatar name? Can I get rid of that?

I see no names! Maybe the forums are having a hiccup?

Nevermind. Temporary glitch I guess... strange.

I'm currently using Huion for portable graphic tablet on my laptop and I have a yiynova pc-tablet for my desktop.

Wacom may be the best but the market is full of good alternatives that are catching up over time. I'd visit http://frenden.com/ for reviews. Visited it everytime when I need a new tablet.

It's pretty obvi that things will go off topic a tad when we're this far out from release with no dlc. You guys stay more on topic than the other threads.

Still, it's awful to chat. I don't come here to talk to you guys. I don't like you. I come here only to hear new facts about Solas. Forums should not encourage any communication at all.

Do you use a tablet? I was thinking about buying a cheap one, very cheap, nothing fancy, just something to play around with (drawing for me is little more than a boredom hobby) and wondered if anyone here had any suggestions?

I can only speak for myself. I have a Wacom Intuos tablet (the small one) I got one that was a bundle with some art programs ($100) but they were only trial versions, so I should have just gotten the tablet by itself. Which, last time I checked, was $80. The only difference in price ranges to size. Me? I'm perfectly happy with my smaller size as I can just scroll and zoom around to other parts of the canvas.

My art is not a career but I do take it very seriously. It's often therapeutic for me and de-stresses me.

You know what's a good place for insightful discussion? Tumblr. The second best discussion platform? Twitter. You have to challenge yourself to limit your wording to prevent an unnecessary wall. You know what is the third best platform? Instigram. I genuinely like instigram though.

PLAYING CARDS ARE BACK IN STOCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.

So I bought a bunch. #noregrets

BUYIIIIIIINNNNGGG!!! I was so disappointed they were out last time I checked.

You know what was an awesome game to discuss  character's physique? Dragon's dogma.

If small, you run faster, has high regeneration, higher dodging, physically weaker.

If big, carry more, stronger, less likely to be knocked down, burns energy more quickly

Dragon's Dogma is such an underrated game. It had a really great character creator. It was one of the few times where the weight and physic of your character affect the gameplay. Good times.

I think I may have seen screenshots like that...  Sometimes I've wished I could play on PC just for some mods.

I couldn't upgrade my comp for DAI so I borrowed someone's xbox and this no mods thing is really tough. Some of the edits for the Skyhold pjs are amazing and I'm stuck with the beige horror.

Hair mods I can't have are going to kill me.

Wacom is generally the best brand to go with. The new line of intuos is their introductory set, usually costs around 75-100 dollars. You can also look for their older starting model, which was called bamboo.

I've used most of the wacom boards. There's not really that much difference between them beyond size, and some of the super expensive ones have view displays.

Something like this? This is much cheaper than I expected.

Sadly...I can't play Dragon's Dogma on my XBox. The font it even smaller than it is for DAI.  I can't read anything!!  I'll have to get it for PC someday. I really want to play it.  Either that or buy a huge flatscreen TV that takes up most of my room.

Yes, I usually only go with "Any news, you unworthy freaks?" Well, went. Don't use that anymore. Realized that's actually people behind the avatars, no matter how constructed the messages read. Beware!

Seeing some of the mods with braids is painful, because I originally wanted Kyriel with a braid.  Ah well.

Still hoping for DLC with new pjs (or just allowing armor in Skyhold) and more hair.

edit: Oh, and a storage chest.  I could *reaaaaaaalllllyy* use one of those.  Lavellan has a giant castle and big ol' bedroom, surely she could find room for her stuff somewhere.

I use it only as parallel.

Anyway, the fungus analogy made me think of origins of the blight: all we know that the magisters "corrupted" the Golden City when they physically entered the Fade. In DA:I everyone is freaking out Quizzie entered the Fade physically 2 times, some wonder about the short term and long term effects this might have.

So: I tend to think that the blight originated somehow from a contact of mortal bodies with the weird-whatever-it-is Fade matter. I hope you understand me: something like people travelling on the other side of the globe and not taking vaccinations for the local illnesses, catching a local disease that no one from the locals even care about, as they are already naturally immune to it, since it's part of their ecosystem, but the "stranger" may even die while getting it.

Hence, another conclusion: blight is actually a mutation of something natural and non tainted in the Fade with a mortal body (or some of it's action or part. Maybe this bloody blood which jumps out of everywhere again?), unnatural in this environment, being carried. Maybe again... the mortal blood + something in the Fade = mutation => blight

Just a speculation.

I actually thought about it too.

Also, let's remember that in order to enter the Fade the Magisters used blood magic, perhaps that's what caused the mutation?

(Trying to figure out how come Quizzy & the companions didn't contract the blight, it could be the anchor protecting them, of course, but if you have OGB in your game you meet Flemeth in the Fade, and you pass through an eluvian, not a tear the Quizzy opened with their anchor).

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact they used blood magic and Quanri sacrifice it seems, by http://dragonage.wik...ales:_Sacrifice

Maybe the fact they used Qunari blood (which I theorized holds more power when used in blood sacrifice, like dragon blood. Great Dragon blood can give godlike powers after all and the Magisters needed more power, as Solas says - practicing blood magic makes it harder to enter the Fade, maybe it also relevant when entering it physically) is what caused it. The codex Sister Squish provided did say something about blight in relation to dragons.

Popping in because I literally just saw this and thought it may be helpful to the Blight-dissection discussion (sorry if old!);

Dragons can stem the blight. The Fade is hard to enter when using blood magic (probably because the Fade is a source of magic and blood is a different source, creatures who use it cut themselves from the Fade overtime).

Maybe the ability to stem the blight originates from the uniqueness of the dragons' blood, and, perhaps, if used in a blood ritual to "attack" the Fade then it will contract the blight, because it is a source of magic. The fact that the Qunari's blood is.. unique.. or whatever (I seriously believe they have dragon in their genes)... Makes it possible to bring over that illness that is the blight to the "real" world instead of it dying right away.

Maybe that's why the Qunari in the middle of the Sacrifice mosaic was scratched out and turned human, the Tevinter like to say the blight was always there, they want to erase the connection of the magisters to the blight.

All I've written is really far-fetched though :D

Also, Qunari were slaves in Tevinter during the time of the magisters

Or at least, so it seems.

No idea.  I just remember someone posting pictures of hair mods someone was working on.  I play on PS3, so I didn't bother looking at the details, since I can't use mods anyway. I just stared wistfully at the one with a braid.

Re:  Sacrifice mosaic.   My theory is that the magistrates made the Qunari with dragon blood and maybe elves, specifically to support the going into the fade ritual.  I think elves blood alone was not cutting it.

Why i like the theory is that now the Imperium is having to deal with these massively powerful intelligent beings... that they created in the first place.

Sod it! No need to read anything. You build a neat warrior or rogue (rogue is HUGE fun), get some shiny armor (or a short skirt, whatever you like) and off you go. Most bestestest gameplay in a sword & shield action game ever. Grabbing a huge beast's leg, climbing up to its head and simply smashing your dagger right into its neck until the head falls off! (Hmm... I do seem a bit aggressive, don't I?)

Story is not that bad actually (I recommend the Dark Arisen extension though, explains a lot of context). Only the characters are very shallow. Don't expect any relationships like in DA.

I felt it was rather difficult in the lower levels (not nearly as easy as DAI on Nightmare), which is good, and you should avoid that island until you've reached level 10 or so. It is a very satisfying gameplay.

Alright, enough about DD from my side now, I will behave.

I wonder why elves and not humans though? Maybe humans and dragons- I'm just not feeling the elven connection there- though if Gil'whatshername created them she would have used elvish slaves.

I'm just picturing forced breeding with poor little elvish slaves and dragons.

When I saw this on tumblr I was amazed and fascinated. I've been thinking of how it could relate to the Old Gods at all, and one of the reasons why Solas was so pissed with the Wardens wanting to kill them. There could be a connection there.

So far all I got is that Solas could walk among the Old Gods and the Creators, and he was seen as an ally to them both. He locked away the Creators as well as the Old Gods. The Creators have no way of contacting the outside world since they're basically stuck in Purgatory; the Fade might be an exception if any of them are Dreamers. The Old Gods can obviously call out, and have a "song". They're not just trapped, but appear to be asleep. The Magisters hear them, seek the Golden City...which I wonder, if that is an act of revenge from the Old Gods if the Golden City could be Arlathan. I wonder if anyone not an elf who entered could be corrupted and cast out? Or, perhaps those not of the elven pantheon cannot step inside. The corruption is spread, and so began the Blights.

The Darkspawn are drawn to the Old Gods - and I wonder if the Old Gods are actively trying to have revenge on Solas for locking them away; they are trying to destroy the world he saved from "gods" on both sides tearing the world apart for more power. Or they just want to continue their power trip.

LOL!!  I tried the demo...I only got into like 2 mins before I gave up. I couldn't read the inventory or the menu.  I wonder if my little lap top will even play it. My lappy is 5 years old.  I need a new computer.
