Yeah, if you're going to get Dragon's Dogma, get Dark Arisen. I can't imagine playing without it. And despite the cardboard characters, the story still packs a punch, particularly at the end... If not for DA:I distracting me, I'd still be playing it.

Well..I can't read the codex or war table stuff...I have no idea if my Lavellan's tribe made it or not..I'm guessing not.

Re: Sacrifice mosaic. My theory is that the magistrates made the Qunari with dragon blood and maybe elves, specifically to support the going into the fade ritual. I think elves blood alone was not cutting it.
Why i like the theory is that now the Imperium is having to deal with these massively powerful intelligent beings... that they created in the first place.
"Your race is a mistake"
That's what Cory tell Inquisitor Adaar, right?
I think so too.

Sadly...I can't play Dragon's Dogma on my XBox. The font it even smaller than it is for DAI. I can't read anything!! I'll have to get it for PC someday. I really want to play it. Either that or buy a huge flatscreen TV that takes up most of my room.
I have it for the Xbox too but I have a pretty decent sized TV so it never really bothered me but yes the text can be pretty small. The game has its flaws but I wish more Japanese devs would start making more RPGs like it. It was an ambitious attempt by Capcom but it had a lot of new innovative gameplay mechanics.
I only wish I could climb a monster to kill it in DA:I. Or the lantern mechanic (Need a light to enter the cave? well I hope you have enough oil in your inventory to light your way, otherwise you'r fighting in the dark. Got poisoned, blinded, etc? Hope you crafted a potion or have enough herbs to counter the effect. Oh you picked up some fruit and meat a few days ago for health and stamina? Well guess what, you waited too long and now it's rotting. Can only use in a poison or something.) FUN!
Also the monsters were twice as hard at night than in day time, encouraging you to go back to a camp/town to rest for the night. Especially the last part would have been a great mechanic for DA:I if we had a day/night cycle. Oh well.
Sound like real life.
lol tell me about it.

You mean the salarians created the krogan and now they are set to concquer the world and they don't know how to stop them. (sorry, wrong game..or?)
They just need some turians.
But joke aside. I think that too. The Magisters either created the Kossith or are the one and the same.

I wonder why elves and not humans though? Maybe humans and dragons- I'm just not feeling the elven connection there- though if Gil'whatshername created them she would have used elvish slaves.
I'm just picturing forced breeding with poor little elvish slaves and dragons.
Why elves x dragons?
Well.. Qunari have pointy ears ![]()
Generally elves are used for blood sacrifices because their blood seems to produce better results, it appears in some codex I don't remember, makes sense they'll try to enhance what elves can bring them, not humans.

The salarians didn't make the krogans. They simply cheery-picked a race, ascended them to parttake in the space age, and handed them guns. Krogans were physically perfect, the salarians took away that perfection.

When I saw this on tumblr I was amazed and fascinated. I've been thinking of how it could relate to the Old Gods at all, and one of the reasons why Solas was so pissed with the Wardens wanting to kill them. There could be a connection there.
So far all I got is that Solas could walk among the Old Gods and the Creators, and he was seen as an ally to them both. He locked away the Creators as well as the Old Gods. The Creators have no way of contacting the outside world since they're basically stuck in Purgatory; the Fade might be an exception if any of them are Dreamers. The Old Gods can obviously call out, and have a "song". They're not just trapped, but appear to be asleep. The Magisters hear them, seek the Golden City...which I wonder, if that is an act of revenge from the Old Gods if the Golden City could be Arlathan. I wonder if anyone not an elf who entered could be corrupted and cast out? Or, perhaps those not of the elven pantheon cannot step inside. The corruption is spread, and so began the Blights.
The Darkspawn are drawn to the Old Gods - and I wonder if the Old Gods are actively trying to have revenge on Solas for locking them away; they are trying to destroy the world he saved from "gods" on both sides tearing the world apart for more power. Or they just want to continue their power trip.
Makes sense.
I theorized at some point that the Old Gods were already "tainted" (like, that's the source of their magic) and that they've been imprisoned, like Corypheous, and... like Coryflakes... They can speak while being asleep, and that's how they call the darkspawn to free them.. Like Coryfabulous did with the wardens and the tainted dwarves.

They were thinking of yahg but they were too aggressive since they killed the diplomats. So the council barred the planet to allow it to grow on their own rather assist in raising. You mean vorcha? They were actually an accident. Considered sapient verments and never reach a sophisticated intelligance. Despite that they're REALLY good at adapting at a biological level so mercenaries like picking them and beating the crap out of them and placing in different enviromental situations to toughen them to adaptation. They make good mercenaries. Thankfully for everyone, they only live 20 years.

The Salarians had trouble with the rachni, so they uplifted the Krogan to fight them.
Then the Krogans wen't on a rampage trying to kill the turians, so the Salarians created the genopage and relaesed that upon the krogan, almost eradicating them compleatly. Circle complete!

DA universe (maybe)
The Tevinter magisters 'created' the qunari (maybe to enter the BC) And now that hits them in the back as the Qunari's trying to conquer their lands and slowly are too.

Dragon's Dogma action gameplay mechanics, DA/ME companions and relationships, Assassin's Creed charming main protagonist, Batman or AC character animations and overall graphical presentation -- set in the Dragon Age universe. A little of the arrow headshot funfunfun of Hunted: The Demon's Forge wouldn't hurt either. And a bit of MGS stealth where it makes sense. That would be the perfect medieval frantasy RPG.

Subtle jokes or irony don't work well online. (Welcome to the club.)

The sofa?! Are you bloody kidding me?
The book cover does seem the wrong color though.
What I don't understand about some of the fan art is why people draw a Solas... with hair... and a lot of muscles... and a different face... and atypical facial expressions... if I don't like Solas the way he is, why draw him at all?

Yeah, the turians were not yet in the council at the time, just a strong military oriented race. So turians are fighting with krogans. The salarians made the genophage but were hesitant to use it. When the turians learned of the solution, THEY released it onto krogans. which is why there is still tension in present mass effect time between turians and krogans but not so much towards salarians except calling them weak nerds.
When the krogans were controlled and races got their planets back from the krogans, turians were accepted into the council.

I'm sure when we go to Sur'Kesh there's a datapad with a proposal to use either yahg or varren (I can't remember which) and that it couldn't be tracked back to them.
I only remember that much because I rolled my eyes and thought how little they'd learned/history always circles.

That's alright. I went the other way around. Initially I did not like the DAO gameplay. I am a stealth and F/TPS gamer at heart. That's how I came to ME (you take what you can get once you're through with all the milestones of a gengre). I liked the interpersonal aspect and gave RPG a chance. But ME left a big gap and so I played DA to at least keep the companion interactions.

The first one is a little...rough. Some people LOVE it because it's a more finicky RPG. The other two games are far and away better games. Just gameplay wise. The story moves along at a faster pace - the 2nd game especially. I do recommend you power through the first one. It seems you would like the other two - unless the actually story is not to your liking.

To bad. You should really give it a chance. I prefer fantasy to Sci-fi, but I just love the ME - serie.
The story in the first one are the best of them, but gameplay wise I'm with Kissiebear, the others are better.
I'm sure that if you just get through the first part you'll like it too. ![]()
Another thing that makes the first one better is that its only PC (Sorry, can't help it. I just don't like console)
