I'm really hoping there isn't some sort of "Big Reveal" scene where he dramatically tells you. My Lavellan is a smart cookie AND a badass, tyvm. Ideally, the DLC would allow her to follow a trail of bread crumbs and put the clues together herself. I hope there's an option in the confrontation for Lavellan to show some agency and tell him "I know." How they move on from there depends on the plot I guess.

As for the winter palace, I'd have liked an option to wear something like Daenerys' Qartheen dress from the GoT show (not the book :P )

Hello all! I've been lurking around this thread for ages but couldn't help myself when people started talking about the fresco images (took this from a previous reply - credit not mine). Does anyone else see the 6 red eyes around the city? It reminds me a lot of the 6 eyes on Solas' Tower Tarot card so I was wondering if it was just me...

So, i had this banter with Cassandra and Solas, where Cassandra ask Solas what he believes and Solas said he believes elven gods and tevinter gods were real, but not gods.. So, Tevinter gods were real too( not gods, but something..)????

I think it'd be hard to look at oneself as a god if you were one. And so incredibly fallible despite it. I wouldn't take Solas' comment too literally. I doubt he ever looked at his own kind as gods. For a time, they were probably the only things around, and when other life did emerge, they were just lesser.

If animals started getting smart enough to speak and think of themselves as "I", they might consider us gods at first. We likely wouldn't accept that either, even if we let them worship us.

And this pc vs consoles, i love my pc, but now that we have new very big tv, all i can think is all this with big screen.. i want =) but that`s something i can have with my pc also, so =) Why can`t we just agree gaming is awesome, doesn`t matter how you play =)

Yes, he says that to the IQ too if you claim he doesn't believe in them.

He says "maybe they were mages, or spirits." Practically anything but Gods it seems.

I've noticed that too.   Very interesting.  Solas does tend to add a lot of wolf imagery into his paintings - it could be connected to that.  Or maybe his spirit is the black wolf and that his representation of himself in the Fade? (either because he was there with Quizzy or he's just expressing how he would feel in the Fade.)

I really loved the designs Lizasaurus made for a possible elven ball gown, so my girl would probably wear something similar.

Barring that, something very over the top. Like the super frilly dress from Labyrinth.

Don't you know that the mices 'rule the universe'?

We're the ignorant ones. And I'm pretty sure that if animals could speak so we understood them, they'd tell us how stupid we are. Cats in particular.

Funny thing - I actually adore bald men & think on the right man the bald look can be a HUGE turn on.  So when I saw the first art of Solas I promised myself I would *resist* the temptation to romance him first because I was determined to choose a LI solely based on personality.  I think you can see where this is going.  Solas had me at "If there are to be introductions..." That voice!  That intelligence!  He was in my age cohort!  AND he was bald!  I was in heaven.

The interesting thing about people being attracted to Solas is that he isn't really even trying to be seductive, but he's so intriguing it's impossible not to fall for him.  Geez, imagine if he didn't have anything holding him back from pursuing Lavellan & really poured on the charm. *faints*

I feel the same way. However, I also think it's possible that some old members who prefer a more sensitive environment have left this thread because the culture is changing.

What was it like before? environment/culture.

I'd walk in with exactly what I always wear, personally. Just like this:

Spoiler

 Yea those were good times, lol. "Fight, fight, fight!" I think I'm here to stay tbh. This thread, even with the disagreements is the way I wish the other threads were. Thoughtful conversation happens much more often here.

No f*cks for the orlesian ball, huh? just like this tevinter a$shole at his own party:

Spoiler

how bad are the arguments in other threads? I'm sheltered.

I'd really like for there to at least be an option to say you know there's something else going on, that he's an ancient elf, whatever... rather than being railroaded into gasping shock and and surprise. The Inquisitor did not come off as stupid by the end of the game, and while non-elf characters might need a few breadcrumbs to rightly say they realize something, an elf character really shouldn't end up staring at Solas and saying "what's a Fen'Harel?" :P

Beautiful picture! And a great conversation-starter:

Everyone: In your headcanon, if not forced to wear the Inquisition uniform/banner, how do you imagine your Inquisitor dressed for the Orlesian Ball?

Agreed.  On my Andrastian human playthrough, my character was very uncomfortable with people calling her the Herald of Andraste and constantly comparing her to Andraste.  Talk about eeek!

But then Solas also says he doesn't believe that the ancient elven gods or the Tevinter old gods were gods in the same sense that the Maker is a god.  Neither the ancient elven gods nor the Tevinter gods are credited with creating the world or the Fade if I recall correctly.

It used to be we tried to be respectful of everyone's opinions and not argue for the sake of arguing. But not everyone who currently frequents the thread feels that is a worthy goal, so here we are. Same as every other thread. Thankfully there's several places for members to talk outside of here, so really, it's all good in the end. Plus we have a chart so I suppose there may be forts and cats soon.

I do enjoy the chart. thanks for chart.

edit:Hmm, kind of true. I think the assumption was if other threads are allowed to do it, why can't we?

I think what Solas has to say on the subject of gods not being gods is rather moot at this point. They may not have been gods then, but for all intents and purposes they are now. But I get what you're saying, since neither the old gods or the elven pantheon are given credit as creators.

What does elvish history teach about creation, then?

All I remember is the story of how Elgar'nan came into being.  The Sun bent down to the Earth and where they touched, poof Elgar'nan.  But I don't know if there are any elven creation stories for the Sun and the Earth.

Solas said he believed they existed .. i.e. were real.  But not that they were gods in the same sense that the Maker was a god.  Unless you expand the definition of god so far as to be unrealistic.

Yeah, elves do not appear to have a 'true' creation story. Just gods creating order to chaos. Which seems to fit well with Solas's opinion that they aren't actually gods. Just insanely powerful entities.
