No f*cks for the orlesian ball, huh? just like this tevinter a$shole at his own party:

how bad are the arguments in other threads? I'm sheltered.

No fucks at all :D

It was all about Qunari X Cass supporters vs non Qunari X Cass supporters, which felt like a typical locker room dick measuring contest, made all the more sad because it was virtual peen. I'll just leave it there, I don't want this thread turning into that.

I tried the Sera thread... nope. Nope nope nope.

Cullen's thread's okay though.

All I remember is the story of how Elgar'nan came into being.  The Sun bent down to the Earth and where they touched, poof Elgar'nan.  But I don't know if there are any elven creation stories for the Sun and the Earth.

Not as of today, I think. Can't recall anyone at least.

But Mythal came from the sea to calm Elgar'nan after he'd cast down his father.

The elven legends actually remind me of the Egyptian. I think there are a lot of inspiration from them into it.

I wonder if Solas knew what Lord Woolsley really is.

I was thinking if lord Woolsley is also like Cole. Wanting to become...more.

Yeah, elves do not appear to have a 'true' creation story. Just gods creating order to chaos. Which seems to fit well with Solas's opinion that they aren't actually gods. Just insanely powerful entities.

I think that over time though they became gods. Being worshiped thousands of years wil do that to some people. Solas is like ugh I'm not a god, geeze! And then shoots lightning out his fingers and sucks someone's soul into his eyes. Lol.

Hello all! I've been lurking around this thread for ages but couldn't help myself when people started talking about the fresco images (took this from a previous reply - credit not mine). Does anyone else see the 6 red eyes around the city? It reminds me a lot of the 6 eyes on Solas' Tower Tarot card so I was wondering if it was just me...

Solas used eyes to represent the Fade in one of his frescos, so I think that signifies the Black City within the Fade.  The entire structure there is really interesting though.  The Black City itself seems to exist in its own sphere, which has a space-like quality...the void?  My own theory is that the void and the Black City are at the center of Thedas, so this fits really well...

What the hell is that and where can I get one.

Goats are amazing in so many ways.

And yea, I'm surprised no one said anything about woolsley. I didn't know what it was until recently when I joked about killing it and people said go ahead.

Beautiful picture! And a great conversation-starter:

Everyone: In your headcanon, if not forced to wear the Inquisition uniform/banner, how do you imagine your Inquisitor dressed for the Orlesian Ball?

Alexander McQueen.

I think when you attack Woolsey you corrupt him from his purpose so he becomes a Rage demon!  Yup that is Solas' influence on me.

I think what Solas has to say on the subject of gods not being gods is rather moot at this point. They may not have been gods then, but for all intents and purposes they are now. But I get what you're saying, since neither the old gods or the elven pantheon are given credit as creators.

What does elvish history teach about creation, then?

I could have sworn that it said the elven gods were actually credited with creating the world. They're even called the creators, no?

I think Solas probably doesn't consider them gods also because he knows they didn't create everything. Though if he's the one responsible for the veil, he did pretty much make thedas as it is now. So...

I believe they are credited with being creators and called Creators because they created many things in the world.  Just not the world itself.  If I recall correctly.

Someone asked earlier how we thought Solas would have told Lavellan the truth, had he actually told her, and it took me most of the day to remember that I already had an ansser for this in the form of a song... because... Dragon Age the musical should totally be a thing and Gaider needs to get on top of that like he said he wanted to.

Without further ado, Solas confessing the truth to Lavellan:
Mistakes: Kutless

The way the Black City is mirrored reminds me of the pagan teaching 'as above, so below'. To put that into a DA context it could mean the Black City exists both in the Fade and the waking world, perhaps even the underground city Tamlen saw in the eluvian.

Yes I was thinking the same thing this morning when someone posted it, but wasn't sure what to make of it. I was thinking more about the floating rocks, and wondering if the real city is underground, does that mean the planet Thedas is on is...not completely solid, but much more hollow, or at least with an expansive interior, so that there would be less gravity there? I was thinking how the dwarves have their own veil, of sorts, to separate them from the sky. Why are they are afraid of falling up into the sky? And why do they make rocks float when they dream? *random thoughts*

Solas says something really interesting in that rant if you drink the well. "Something had to start the legends" or something along those lines. I find that really interesting because in some ways that is the inquisitor's story in a nutshell. You are the herald of andraste whether you like it or not. It doesn't matter what the truth is or how often you deny it, the people believe you are divinely touched (figuratively speaking :P). Sure, you're a badass and all-around important person but you aren't a god. Or are you?

In 5000 years maybe Lavellan becomes part of the dalish pantheon. Maybe Cadash is made a paragon. Maybe Trevelyan is remembered alongside andraste.

I don't really buy tho whole not actual gods thing. Well I guess they could just be immortal beings... Who could shape the world around them with magic... And who lived in floating cities... and can escape death by seperating their souls from their bodies...

Nevermind
