My personal theory is that the elven gods were the first mages of the world, and were worshipped by those who did not have their abilities. Over time, 'mortals' developed magic, but the elven gods were still well and above them due to their thousand or so year headstart.
If they were truly truly gods, I doubt they would need things like foci.

Well, as soon as there was an inkling of a fight starting other members would pull out the cute animal pictures (myself included if I don't care for the topic of debate) and urge for everyone to get along. Now it seems like the frequency of debates/fights happen a bit more often and members don't try as much to curb them. It's not like things are out of control here, but it does feel different. I don't mind it.
I don't really buy tho whole not actual gods thing. Well I guess they could just be immortal beings... Who could shape the world around them with magic... And who lived in floating cities... and can escape death by seperating their souls from their bodies...

I think debates are great. It's a way to explore the lore and try to come to a better understanding - at least until the devs decide to actually tell us what the heck is going on lol. Fights and their associated drama and anger and hurt feelings though? Yeah, bring out the cute fuzzy animals please!

I killed mine by accident because I pressed Y and then when he popped out it gave me a heart attack, then I felt terrible about it and reloaded.

I think the pictures of puppies and tents escalates the tensions. If you don't contribute, the arguments between two people dies faster.
