Did anybody else click him like a bazillion times to get him to say the romance dialogue?

People might just feel comfortable here. It's not like you can discuss the elves or the Dalish in the rest of the public forum without it going down in a blaze, and I think a lot of people find this to be a safe place where they can share their love of elven mysteries, the city elves, the Dalish, or a myriad of other elven facets with people who might relate to them. Different people have attracted Solas - people who, like me, befriended him as a pro-Dalish Lavellan, or the multitude of others who romanced him and saw a very different, more intimate side to him.

Oh yeah, that wasn't meant to be an insult.  I'm totally cool with whatever - I'll just ignore it if i'm un-interested or have nothing to add.    i didn't realize it was that bad to talk about game lore outside of this thread or a private group.  so bizarre.  why even bother visiting a game's forums if you don't want to talk about the game?(me musing to myself because i really have never engaged in a game forums before this except in vanilla wow when i would need rare crafted stuff).

That's a rivalmance...or non-mance, I guess.    When on his friend side of the meter, his more general response is "yes, my friend?"

I saw this headcanon on Tumblr and it was beautiful, so I must share!

 

"When standing close together, Lavellan’s fingers always seek out the wolf jawbone Solas wears. She holds it delicately in her fingers, memorizes the feel of it during their conversations, and ensures the leather cord remains tightly tied. And always, she lets it go with a regrettable sigh. 

 

Solas is not sure what to think of this little ritual she does, but he is nervous. She does not know the truth is, literally, in her hands.

 

One day, he lifts it over his head and, to her surprise, puts it around her neck. Lavellan is quiet as she gazes down at his fingers as he gingerly places the talisman over her heart. He steps back and looks at her, wondering if he will see what she sees - a different perspective, perhaps, will give him clarity. 

 

But she smiles brightly, reaches into her under armor, and pulls out her own charm: a piece of a halla’s horn that was shed from an elder halla upon his death. The carvings were still as brilliant as the day they were etched, intricate and flowing. Lavellan mimicked Solas’ actions, tying the cord around his neck as he stood, frozen and baffled.
 

"Feel the weight that I carry as I feel yours," she says, pressing her charm into his chest. "And if ever you need peace from your burden, share it with me as I have shared mine with you."

 

In that moment Solas was truly, and undeniably happy." "

Ah, I see. I've only ever done the Fenris rivalmance, so I thought that was him being his normal grumpy self.

I've run across several people outside the BSN now who have said they've decided to stay away from the Solas thread now because of that kind of stuff. The whole arguing for the sake of arguing, and others being dismissive of those who want the environment to stay welcoming. This thread doesn't feel anywhere near as friendly as it used to for me. That's probably why I haven't been keeping up with it like I was. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.

Has it been unwelcoming for you? Gods, I must be frequenting a cesspool outside of here because this is my favorite thread for the opposite reason. People are pretty civil and outright friendly and the few times when people get a bit sensitive it calms down pretty quick. Maybe it's because I don't take what people say on the internet that seriously. 

 

This place has been a Solas stronghold and compared to other BSN threads stays mostly on topic and pretty welcoming to theoricrafters and the like. My opinion though. I pop in a few times a day but I prefer to read people's discussions most of the time.

I don't think anyone is leaving We were just discussing how the thread has changed, and how others have left (we're talking thread veterans here, who used to frequent the it long before the game came out). As I said, it was sad to see them go and I would love it if they returned, but this is still my favorite place on the BSN (not going anywhere either!), and there's still a lot of great people here, old and new.

I was in need of happy thoughts, and I'm thinking of posting more of those for peeps who need them too. I love the romances, but I do love small moments like these that could have happened - but I'm also glad we can have our headcanons.

Two things give me a heart attack every time they happen: Sera firing her arrow with directions, and lightning.

 

I was just messing around and no joke my IQ jumps on the rock and BOOM! That...I can't....and then Cullen made her go from badass/cute to full on derp...the screenshots...I can't.

I've been having a weird glitch all night where if I use leaping shot, even on a perfectly flat surface, my elf lady bounces 2 or 3 times the distance she is supposed to go. Or she'll go straight up and then take fall damage without actually going laterally. Or she will go the correct distance, but end up in the air instead of taking a normal arc. She's kicked Solas in the face a few times doing that I think. 

 

Hooray! Moon physics!

 

Solas: *grumbles* This is what I get for dumping her.
