So your plan was to come into the Solas thread and proceed to bash the Dalish in return?
Perhaps if you spent a little less time on a thesaurus and a little more time on your reading comprehension skills, you wouldn't have misinterpreted the original post you were oh-so-cleverly trying to retort.
Perhaps you shouldn't try to sound so clever to someone who doesn't give a ****? I'm almost a big a fan of Solas as anyone in this thread. And denoucing an accurate description of Dalish as bashing seems a little dense. But whatever floats your boat. And in case you misinterpret my agenda, I happen to be a Dalish fan. I just hate what the Dalish fandom has become.

Well, to be fair, all Empires are bound to fall eventually
Which gives me hope for seeing Val Royeaux burn...

Congratulations? If that's how you speak of people you're a fan of, you must be a fan of mine too. I'm blushing.
And regardless of how you feel about the Dalish, posting something condescending towards another poster doesn't accomplish whatever goal you were trying to accomplish. Unless it was your intention to be a troll. In which case, you'll continue to get responses like these.

I think Solas can't accept that he should let a new seed grow and leave the past behind, since it was going to fall anyways, seeing how some gods were already acting. He just postponed the downfall of their empire.

I can imagine it would be pretty difficult to accept that death of something you are a part of is inevitable, when you are a god. A good lesson to learn for them. Some things are inevitable, even for you Solas.
Learn to let go:
Though that did sound like what he wanted to do for a while. But probably only because he didn't have the answers then.

Postponed it, leaving it leaderless, and having it fall anyway. Damn. It's so sad when you sit and think about it - this great civilization with its magic and crystal spires was just as **** as the rest, and the only people who really realized it was Fen'harel and Mythal; Mythal was murdered, and Fen'harel had to most likely carry out the rest on his own, or acted out of anger/desperation. He had to though, most likely to save everyone instead of just the pantheon who would continue slaughtering and blaming each other, and taking it all for granted.
I really want to hug Solas now.

I guess nobody should be surprised that players found Solas attractive considering how many of us seemed to have gone for the alien space raptor boyfriend. What's pointy ears and a lack of hair compared to molecular chirality and mandibles?
Yeah, that's how I felt about the Dragon Age LIs after playing Mass Effect. If I can find Garrus attractive and sweet, physical appearance is really no factor at all. It's all voice and personality for me nowadays.
And since apparently it's time to break out the fire extinguisher of fluffy headcanon, let's do a Halamshiral headcanon:
Lavellan is surprisingly obliging about the preparations for the Winter Ball, much to Vivienne and Josie's relief. She hasn't built the Inquisition up so high only to lose it to the Great Game, so she learns the steps and words and niceties with good grace. Solas watches mostly with amusement, this Dalish huntress under an ill-fitting Orlesian mask. But when the Ball arrives, she plays the Game with a mastery and grace that he hasn't seen since ancient Arlathan, floating among the humans with such effortless ease. And when she casually asks if he's interested in dancing, he feels his heart stop for just a moment, just another man fallen under her spell.

I really wish the next game or DLC is about the past. He clings to Lavellan because she is something either new or something that reminds him of a sweeter simpler time. (Like the protheans from mass effect. They were powerful but Liara didn't know they were a bunch of dickheads lol) and even if you don't romance, he finds friendship in the inquisitor. I'm sure part of him wants to move on, but he can't stand seeing his people so scattered and used. Maybe having an elf inquisitor is a new push to glory for the elves. I wonder how they would all feel when they discover that those markings mean slavery. I wonder how big the line is going to get when they want their tattoos removed by Solas. XD

What I like the most is the Lavellan looks more mature than most I see. Most go for the younger ones, but it is kind of hard to make them look older.
LOL what's the coconut for?

I thought the same too, but it was too late. I wanted to make my character the type that wanted to explore her beautiful forests, but she's not able because of the mark and now she'd had another burden, but then she regret it because she wanted to grow and stop ignoring how downhill her people actually are.
My character also loved exploring her beautiful forests and ideally would just love to live among her clan forever, but she also deeply believes in the Dalish's desire to recover their past. However, she also wants her people to go a step fruther; reach farther and help elves beyond their clans and forests. Despite the hardships, she was glad to use the Inquisition to learn more about her people's past, help the mages via Fiona, help the elves via Briala, and reform the Chantry via accidentally supporting a new Divine.
I won't say she drank without hesitation or didn't get a sinking feeling when she realized who Mythal was and how she could control her directly as Solas warned; but she saw it as gaining great knowledge at a great price. Can't gain anything great without giving something great in return. Besides, it was too late to turn back then, so might as well look forward and focus on using the knowledge she sacrificed so much to obtain in order to help her people recover their lost past and move toward a better future. (And no, I don't think the two are mutually exclusive, and I'm tired of seeing characters act like they are. It's an either-or fallacy I'm tired of seeing.)

That's definitely easier said then done. Especially when it seems as if Solas took a huge risk and painful steps because he thought it would help the elven people have a brighter future. Only to find out that everything went up in flames and what's left of the elves considers him the evil force holding the matches. That has got to sting. After learning who Solas really was, I never questioned his anger towards the Dalish again. It probably comes from a place of enormous pain and guilt.
I imagine it would take a lot to get him to give up his agenda, as it probably should. Hopefully his story-line turns out better than "PC beats the sense into elven god's thick, hairless skull".

Imagine how many clans would be too proud to do that. They are either too stuck in their ways, or they see the vallaslin as a way to reclaim what was once something horrible and make it a positive - they're no longer markings of slavery to them, but a way into becoming an adult. That ritual has been done for hundreds of years, not many are going to accept it easily.
I truly believe that Lavellan can change things for the better. With people seeing her as the Herald of Andraste, the change may be just a little easier.
"Well, she speaks for Andraste, so I guess we've been **** to the elves for too long now."
"Aye."

Come to think of it, what's the prevalent time zone for the Solas crowd? I keep west coast to UK hours even though I live in Florida. Last I checked I am not actually a vampire, but the crazy daylight loving crowd 'round here doesn't have to know that.

This is exactly why he needs Lavellan. He was ready to just say **** it and leave it all benind for her and then he balked... when he probably would have been much better off if he had just let it go and stayed with her.
